What game are these from? I was going to say Metro 2033 but maybe Crysis?

People posting screenshots, I would really appreciate if you include the game title too for those of us who may be interested but not know the game. :) Pretty please!

Its Cryostatis a janky ass eastern block game. A GB Quicklook if you'd like to know more.

So I got my new GeForce 570 (nice little upgrade from my Radeon 6870) and now I'm finally on the good side!

Quick question. I was playing around Assassin's Creed Revelation earlier and it's nice to be able to run it smoothly with everything maxed out but I do have a small problem with the textures. Everytime I run around in town I can see a line in the textures moving along with me approx. 10-15yards in front of me. I don't know how you call that issue but anybody know how I can fix that?

It's kinda a hard to explain but hopefully somebody will understand what I mean.

That would be anisotropic filtering, you'll need to look in the game settings or force it on from the nVidia control panel. You can probably safely set it as high as it will go and not loose any frame-rate at least in AC:R

Suddenly, I'm very interested in Cryostasis. I've heard of it, but never paid attention. Looks creepy as hell.

It's janky as hell but I'm utterly enthralled. Creepy as hell in a Silent Hill kinda way.

I liked it, I played it back then with my 9800GT, and it ran like utter shit .. (which reminds me that I should probably try it out on my new 560) The gimmicky physics based unique graphical look game-style always intrigued me.

Then again I was also intrigued by Hydrophobia Prophesy, so what do I know?

I'm also a sucker for these games, and "gimmicky physics based unique graphical look game-style" seems to describe it pretty well from my frame of mind too. Hope it's 50% off or something in the Steam Sale. It's not bad at $13 right now.

Post more Cryostasis. My GOTY for 2010. I really want to replay it at some point. One of the best stories ever put in a video game and probably the most unique one

It runs fairly poorly on my i5 2500K @ 4.3Ghz, 8GB RAM and GTX 570, but I put that down to the engine being a piece of shit.

I'll post more screenies the more I play. Funnily enough, the weather in Melbourne has gone to complete shit. Winter has hit hard and it's freezing. Gives Cryostasis an unintentional yet welcome degree of extra immersion :p.

The CQ map pack looks ridiculous. Frostbite 2 is almost unmatched when it comes to interior environments like those maps. The great graphics combined with the amazing destruction makes me ache for a proper FEAR game built in the engine.

Some more Max Payne 3. I'd messed up this particular checkpoint so much that I decided to just leap over my cover into the open air above a 10 metre drop. It was awesome until Max died!

Also, is there any way to make the "Show Menu" text disappear when the game is paused?

Its alpha was more of a pre-alpha, and the beta launch was more of an alpha.

That said. I would say it's a proper beta now, they say they want to do a full release late summer which seems a tad early, but if you like some natural selections, there is a lot of fun to be had with it currently.

Definitely worth the price if you want to support good devs who listen and are trying to do some hardcore game development.
Performance is not up to snuff but feature and artwise the game is really great. My comp can power through the worst of it though.

The game currently needs a brutal processor with great single thread performance (4.00 Ghz recommended, no joke).

Welp. I'm sold on Cryostasis. I'm just gonna wait for the Steam sale first to make sure i'm not missing out on a good deal first.

Totally skipped this one and started with AC2 back in the day. Hard to believe this one's five years old from looking at it.

The PC port is pretty good, then they went a whole lot of PC? No one uses those, and fucked up a bunch of shit with the controllers for pc figuring everyone would use kb/m

Was there something wrong with the controller use in the game at one time? Cuz it works great with one now.

Is the Cryostasis gameplay good?

I remember playing it ages ago and my performance was terrible.
It would probably be ok now on my new PC though.
