Natural Selection 2 - some old shots, some new. The ui is better in the real game, but i was playing a modded version that someone created that replicates the original game in the new engine.

That's great, but TheOctagon already went there and did that for a lot more games and he did an absurd amount more work (read some of his articles to have your brain broken by the amount of work he does to tweak these games). Oh and his eye for photography is just as good.

It's also not really the point of this thread, we have an art screenshot thread.

Beast has to be the best lighting engine ever....fucking insane how good Mirrors Edges lighting is.
They need to release a free or student version of it ASAP.

Anyone who has this game please tell me what the SuperSampling and Advanced Shadow options look like in the setting.ini file, im trying to activate them in game, but they are blanked out.

Let me put it like this, here's the manual for the original game

And with BMS, there's about a million new features. This is probably one of the most hardcore simulators out there today. Unlike DCS and some of the other study sims, there's no "arcade mode". However there are the usual flight dynamics settings, unlimited <insert something> and stuff like that.

So sure, you can probably bind your gamepad to wiggle around a bit and press a few buttons but to be truly effective, a high-end stick is required, lots of reading, lots of video studying and lots of patience. In the other end you are rewarded with one of the best sim experiences money can buy. It's amazing how much better this game from 1998 is compared to every single air combat simulator out today.

From looking it up on google (I know, rediculous!), there is a file going around that you put into your root folder and it removes the sunglare effects and the blue tint. It is NOT known, however, how bannable this offense is. some would say it makes the game unfair. and others would indicate that it interferes with game files and is technically a hack.

So if you want it, prepare to only play nonranked/non PB servers...

lol yeah I went and looked it up immediately after posting. The one for the base game is now causing temp PB kicks but the one for the expansions just released and hasn't raised any flags yet, but I'm sure it will within a few days. Too bad though, it makes the game look so much nicer. :(

Unofficial mod tools have been out for a couple of weeks. PB recently started kicking for using it, so use a non PB server if you wanna mod the game :)

There is still ways to bypass the kick but i dont want it to go public, like the tool did.
