Yeah I like the format a lot.
I would pick LA over Vancouver. Second too close to call but Fire were terrible at finishing opportunities in their last game.

I'm not a fan - the higher seed doesn't get anywhere near enough of an advantage in this format, devaluing the regular season. Home-and-away aggregate series were designed for one-off tournaments without a lengthy regular season preceding them. On the other hand, one-off games are too random to crown a deserving champion. American sports figured this out a long time ago, and why we abandoned the best-of-3 series I have no idea. I'd also love to see a 3 game aggregate series, higher seed getting 180 minutes at home, maybe with the option of cutting it off at two games if the same team wins the first two games.
I wouldn't be opposed to having the wildcard round be a one-off play-in game like in MLB, though. If you want to have the security against random luck swings that a longer series brings, finish in the top 3.
I guess this would be my ideal playoff format, assuming we stay at 10 teams in the playoffs and an unbalanced schedule.
4 v 5 each conference wild card play-in game, 4 hosts 5
1 v WC and 2 v 3 three game aggregate series
Conference finals three game aggregate series
MLS Cup finals one game showdown, higher seed hosts
Another alternative that's been floated is a group stage format. Keep the Wildcard play-in game, then divide them up into groups
East 1 / West 2 / East 3 / West WC
West 1 / East 2 / West 3 / East WC
3-game group stage, higher seed hosts every game. Win your conference and you don't have to go on the road until the knockout rounds. Top 2 in each group advance, then a 3 game aggregate series into a one-off MLS Cup final
