Kobe and his shooting percentage have gone down in the last four years. Best perimeter offensive player? WTF. The corpse of Paul Pierce outshot him last year on an old C's team. Perhaps you're referring to someone else.

This.

Kobe has been a taller worse passing old Iverson the last 2-3 seasons who gets 4-6 LOL fouls a game for things like Sefolosha cleanly stripping him or Marion being 2 feet away but getting a hand in his face. The hilarious/shameful foul calls he got in games 4-5 in the OKC series are his biggest skill at this point which is sad.

Okay, so wtf were the Magic thinking? You trade Dwight to the fucking Lakers who were kinda loaded already, and the best player you get back is Arron Afflalo? lol, incompetent ass GM's. They could've either gotten Gasol, Bynum, or maybe even both had they played it right. Iguodala involved in the deal and you don't even get him...

They would've been better off just letting DaWight suffer for another year and letting him walk.

It's still crazy to me that Orlando is taking back a ton of long term salary. Not only are they trading Howard, they get to pay Afflalo and Al Harrington for 4 years.

Did NBA-GAF get amnesty because of the Dwight trade?

But those are players you can build around!

You gotta give Afflalo $50 million! Best SG in the market!

If the Lakers don't chip in the next two years, they will be absolutely begging Kobe to retire or accept a trade.

In 2 years Kobe's contract will expire so they won't have to beg him for anything. This lines up pretty nicely for the Lakers actually. Kobe and Pau expire at the same time, Nash a year later. That gives them a ton of money in either expiring Ks or cap space to work with and rebuild around Dwight. How many times are the Lakers going to have to rebuild on the fly rather than in 5 years like most teams before people will stop predicting their demise? Happened after the Shaq trade. Happened again this past season.

Either Woj or Stein was saying that this trade was handled by the Magic President. Don't know how much truth there is to that.

Lakers have no answer for Westbrook?

Its motherfucking Dwight Howard. Act like he won't send your favorite point guard to the floor in a bodybag.

even after sleeping it off, it still amazes me how stupid this orlando FO is.

and how the lakers manage to have everything end up in their favor. i remember Laker fans being in uproar years ago when they refused to trade Bynum for Kidd. not only did they win 2 rings with him, they eventually dump him for Dwight.

last season it was the whole basketball reasons thing. so lakers come back with Nash and Howard this offseason

They paid for their basketball reasons.

Kobe actually looked pretty awesome at the beginning of last season.

His body just couldn't hold up throughout the season. He had to play way too many minutes to carry us in the regular season.

I still think he can be a top 5 player, but only at 30 minutes a game. He is too old to play the 42+ minutes he used to. Nash is hopefully the solution to that problem. He can hopefully run the offense for long stretches and give Kobe's body a rest and vice versa with Kobe to spell Nash as well.

Wow just terrible for Orlando. What was their reason for not accepting the NJ offer? Dwight would have agreed to go there.

Though this does set up a potential great finals between LA and Miami.

BTW how many people will cry and complain about LA forming, yet another, super team? Or is that only relevant when Lebron does it?

Ehhh on a team with so many older stars does dwight really want to provoke the other team to play rough? MWP is the goon cause he isn't a key component. Dwight doesn't need to be suspended in the playoffs especially against the thunder.....

DY was talking about rim protection, not thugging it out.

HOU offered ORL $12M in space (instead of Afflalo), recent 1st picks, future lottery and unprotected picks. Would've taken bad deals (cont.)

(cont.) and no need to take on Harrington contract.

The level of incompetence among NBA GMs of this era is reaching critical mass.

Both.

Rose learned quick not to run straight at Howard looking for a highlight. Westbrook isn't that smart. Shit, OKC has been begging Westbrook to kill himself for the past 3 years.
lol

Since when did Dwight become some kind of pseudo-enforcer?

Maybe its because I focus on the division harder than most, but if you're a slasher - you're gonna get fucked up by Dwight. Lets not pretend this dude hasn't been throwing elbows and laying out midgets just because he's got a Syracuse Smile.

Dump-offs to Ibaka, Perk and Collison under the rim should work fine. That, or you kick it out to KD or Harden on the perimeter.

And while nobody can really stop Dwight, Perk is the perfect guy to get in his head. Dwight is still mentally weak.

Go back and read the thread. Plenty of guys complained that LA traded for Dwight.

I would have rather the knicks trade Chandler and Amare for Dwight than to see this shit happen. So Orlando fans this is the better deal you were hoping for?

NJ was the best deal but Orlando didn't do it likely out of spite. I really dont think the rockets offer was going to happen when you consider Howard's people (likely his agent) told them over and over again he would leave.

I keep hoping this deal includes more first rounders but nope. The lesson of all this is something us Knick fans can relate too. Never fire your damn GM, hire a newbie GM and then make an important trade right after. Cause the other GM's will smell blood in the water.

Hennigan was just doing his due diligence! His attempt to get Dwight to stay and force teams to up the ante worked out splendidly.

Hollinger tweeted that he's hearing the trade came from above Orlando GM's head.

You have to seriously wonder if owners don't cut deals with Buss where Buss gives them a secret check for 20 million dollars. It's the only explanation for why teams continually make such lousy decisions.

Although even then, take the check and take Bynum too. To let him go to Philly and you have a bunch of junk and 3 worthless lottery protected picks? The Houston deal was so much better if you didn't actually want Bynum.

Wait the Knicks would offer Amare!?! Why didnt you say so!?!

Otis offered Dwight for Amare and Chandler on the down low and the Knicks said no. Wish they would have said yes so that this trade wouldn't happen. Only hope is that Diwght is broke or Davis hits his full potential fast.

Thats bullshit. All the Magic beat writers have already said that this trade started and went through with Hennigan.
