USA Today reports that the top executive for FIBA, the world's leading basketball organization, is proposing a three-on-three tournament be added to the Olympics.

Secretary-general Patrick Baumann said Saturday that his group planned to propose it to be played as early as the 2016 Rio Games.

Three-on-three, the game played in driveways, on playgrounds and around the country during the annual Gus Macker tournaments, debuted in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games. FIBA wants to create a comprehensive ranking system that would determine the best three-on-three teams in the world. FIBA already has a three-on-three world tour and world championship, but Baumann welcomed all three-on-three tournaments, such as Gus Macker and Hoop It Up, into the fold as long as those tournaments adhered to FIBA rules, including the registration of players in a database to chart wins and losses.

"Like volleyball has beach volleyball, swimming has synchronized swimming, we want three-on-three to be part of it," Baumann said.

2K Sports has just announced that The Dream Team will be included in NBA 2K13 as will the recent gold medal winning 2012 team. The two will be pitted against each other in the game. Charles Barkley, who has remained a holdout of the 2K series, made it in (but only on the Dream Team and not with any classic teams) while Scottie Pippen for some reason has gone missing.

Even though the prime opportunity to announce the inclusion of The Dream Team and 2012 team would have been about a month ago – it’s unclear why they would wait until after the Olympics ended when the discussion around them peaked earlier – this marks another significant addition to the game that will undoubtedly expand its appeal even further.

I already have this on my PC version, lol. And so much more.

2k is literally dropping shit on us that the freaking community members make....whoever did all these mods should send a giant FU you to 2k somehow...

The games have actually gotten much better as far as controls go. There are a ton of stuff you can do.

What bothers me is their inability to add features that actually mean shit to the players. We've screamed for years for the ability to save playbooks/online settings. Just really, really basic shit.

Oh and take away online leagues and turn it into some giant shitfest that is out of everyone's control

Despite all the complaints, and there are plenty valid ones, NBA2K is a completely different(better, much better) BBall sim than 2K6 or whatever you last played. The leap from 2K9 to 2K10 alone was huge. The changes from 11 to 12 were meh and they ignored a lot of fundamental problems that have plagued the series this entire generation. All in all it's worth it if you missed out on the last 7 games, the problem is going from '11 to '12 for 60$ with those problems still there is a hard sell. Having skipped on 12, if 13 can finally address bugs and online play....I'll be down, but like last year I'll let other NBA gaffers test it before I buy it.
