The whole reason we responded is because you said no one wanted them there. That is wrong.

And if anything, OKC exposes basketball to middle America, a place that basketball traditionally didn't do well for years.

Yes, it sucks Seattle lost their team (I hear it all the time here from the locals now) but to say that having a franchise in OKC is bad is just...wow.
True. It's just the way the Sonics were ripped from them that hurts. And to see them do well is just salt on the wound.

Of course OKC loves that team. What else is there to do there? Drive to cushing and take tours of the pipelines? Bring a team to Nebraska or wherever and they'll have just as good attendance.

The issue is their right to be there compared to a city that loves basketball and a market that would do gangbusters.

Looks like they love basketball to me. Right to be there isn't a very strong argument when they have been successful in a smaller market.

It's like asking what else is there to do in Green Bay besides go to a Packers game? Who gives a fuck if you have a good team.

BAHAHAHAH KOBE WTF?

How can guys "be more aggressive" when you iso? Okay, yeah Pau messed up by not taking it strong at Perkins, but c'mon, son.

"I had to take shit shots cause my people just were not being aggressive"

Goddamn Kobe...ice cold :lol

Not really. He had to take tough shots because he refused to feed Bynum. He missed those tough shots and now all of a sudden he was "forced" to take them and it's the fault of his teammates.

Big time player made a big time shot in a big time situation.

I'm not happy but fuck it, I can live with that. OKC deserved to win. Not gonna point any fingers, just give Durant his due and be out.

Well, to be fair, Godslay, it helps tremendously that the Thunder are a good team.

Might be a harder sell up front if they were a JeffreyCats-esque expansion team.

If the Thunder hit lean years from this point, I think the fans would remain.

But you couldn't have a better way to introduce a new team to a new city--it's Brooklyn Dodgers-esque.

Oh I don't think you'll find anyone here who doesn't think that whole mess was fucked up. It was. It also was partially the result of politicians refusing to work with the previous owners or the new owners though too. Had they been willing to work with Shultz and co maybe he wouldn't have sold the team to Bennett and co. I don't think anyone came away clean from that except fans.

All that said for some to act so childish and just shit all over the fans here is just uncalled for.

He does that every fourth quarter.

Fuck Kobe.

This shit is exactly why I will never consider him one of the greats. He does not make those around him better, and he blames others for his mistakes like a spoiled brat.

No one forced him to refuse to pass the ball. No one forced him to jack up 30 shots, most of them bad ones.

No one shat on him for blowing game 2, and he goes out and (uinfairly) shits on his teammates to the press.

He will never compare to the great bigs of his generation (duncan, KG), because they don't turn their backs on their teammates like him.

What an ass.

Sure, that is a good point. If the Thunder can build a legacy no matter how small, I think the fans will ride through a lean period.

I don't think you'll even need that. We've stood by other teams we have here on college and AAA level through thick and thin in various sports. That's one thing we're surprisingly good at is supporting our teams.

Well to be fair i didn't single out the fans. I can't hate on you for liking them. It's really just the whole team. Their iso-heavy offense, a terrible "lauded" coach, fouls calls out the wazoo. The blue and orange and white colors looks nasty to me. Nothing's better than those classic sonics colors.

I'm just salty.

Lakers fans what do you feel right now? Because tomorrow we will be joining you in the "1 loss from Loserbros" territory

I feel fine.

I knew we weren't winning this series or a chip this year and unlike most of BEST GAF, I don't hate the Thunder.

Would I have liked to see the Lakers fight harder? Yes.

Did I know the outcome was pretty clear going in? Yes.

Your situation is a little different. You had a huge injury at the start of your series and tbh, with your payroll so tied up with 3 players, if one of them gets hurt for an extended period, that will wreck havoc for years.

If the Heat don't chip this year, there could be some changes afoot, likely at the coaching position.

He's clearly the most unlikeable player in the league and it's very telling when Lakers fans are even getting sick of his bullshit. Imagine playing with him.

I'm really not sure why "Fan support" is discussed so much unless a team is about to get their asses shipped out

I mean I am a fan of my teams and if I lived in the city of teams I root for, I would root for them but if they sucked, why the hell would I drop good money to watch a shitty live performance? If you don't perform well, you don't get clients. That's the walk for everybody else

Even if you told me Bosh wasn't playing the Pacers I'd have picked the Heat in a long series (I had them in 6 anyways)

I'm still pretty convinced the players we put together are good enough to win it. Dishing out long term contracts was terrible (Anthony, Miller, Haslem) but at the time of bringing the team together, we HAD to give out long term security for small dollar amounts to get those guys. and I never thought Miller, Haslem, and Battier would all play so terrible to the point where they can't even hit open shots on a regular basis

It doesn't hurt to have a championship or even getting to the finals to cement it imo. Personally, I love seeing the fans in OKC, they just seem grateful and hungry at the same time. That's why I had no salt towards them last year when they handled the Nugs.

Oh true some championships don't hurt one bit. I think those will come in time with this team. Hell who knows maybe they'll surprise everyone and beat the Spurs. lol

Actually, if you guys lost Wade instead of Bosh, your chances would be better. People underestimate how much Bosh spaces the floor and the 15-20 foot jumper keeps teams honest.

He's a far more important component to the Heat's long term success than ESPN would let on. Also, the Pacers are basically what the Blazers were supposed to be, personnel wise, with far worse coaching.

They aren't a bad team and they aren't scared the Heat.

That goes a long way, believe it or not.

What pisses me off more is no one in the media is going to call kobe out for his bullshit, rip into him for being such a god awful teammate and the single biggest ball-hog in the league in 3 of the last 7 years (going by usage %), and one of the top 5 ball-hogs in the league for the last 8 consecutive years, or take this as an opportunity to tear kobe to shreds for game 2.

He is a selfish prick, a shitty team-mate, and incapable of recognizing his own contributions to any of his team's failures.
