That said, I've found that using 1440p and viewing the image on my 1080p Pioneer plasma actually looks much more attractive while playing (this is typically what I use these days) and is actually playable but still, I'd like to push it further.

Maybe your monitor doesn't work too well with downsampling?

If I'm downsampling on my monitor I have to use at least 2880x1620, downsampling from 1440p (1080p monitor) makes it blurry as hell, and 1080p looks way better, but on my TV it looks fantastic. DmC at 3200x1800 is mindblowing every time I play it.

Midhras FO3 ENB is great :)
Would love to see what you come with neo :)

This is really fucking scary, if I was playing a game with Oculus Rift and something like that came running in my direction and jumped on me I would probably never play a game again.

I've always liked PS2's lighting. I think it's one of the game's strongest assets. One of the weakest, of course, is the overall lack of detail in the environments. They've stepped it up a notch here. The continent is lush. There are tree house bases! A biodome completely consumed with vines and foliage to the point where you stumble upon it rather than seeing it a mile a way.
I figured they kept things sparse elsewhere for performance reasons, is there a significant drop-off on the new continent?

Agree on the strength of the engine's lighting. The game rapidly transforms from dull to spectacular when the time of day shifts. A low sun on Esamir gleaming on the snow is especially striking as well as just about any night battle.

I felt I was lost with my config a few days ago (Midhras will know what I mean), but now I like the cold, beige look of it. Definitely a keeper!

The last page had some amazing stuff. Great new Planetside area, awesome Black Mesa shots, and probably the best New Vegas shots I have ever seen. Please post your config when you're done with it!

Has Wanny posted anything how to clone his set up yet for FNV? WE WANTS.

I did post a small preview config. However it's not perfect and I will always have this little dissatisfaction from the game's soft look. Poor texture job is poor, even with texture mods. (DLCs, black mountain, legate camp and hoover dam are not covered yet in terms of weather balance). Interiors in FNV are also much poorer than FO3 vanilla lighting.

What AA method are you using in FNV?

And of course, the Nexus mod servers start acting up.

Hmmmm
Well then what kind fps do you get and whats your pc specs?

Well I'm on a 3770k @4.5ghz and a GTX670 GTW, but I don't have a 60 fps standard like some do here. I'll just use the highest downsampling SMAA combo until it becomes unplayable.

Hence why I'm posting most of my shots in a playable state. No bullshit, pure ENB sweetFX.

That's the problem I have with ENB shaders. They always look good at specific points and horrid in others. Some effects are just plain broken and others too extreme. They often look great in a screenshot so you download it and try it out and it's a mess of blurriness and excessive depth of field and overuse of bokeh filters. The one I recently tried for New Vegas was quite good outside but when I went indoors it was extremely bright and bloomy. The light coming through the window looked like the game took place on Mercury rather than on Earth.

Problem is most of the time the inconsistency of the vanilla game itself. You have to go and dig individually every little single zones. Ugh. There's a point where I just don't care and deal with it.

And the fact that Skyrim ENBs got like 10x more developement time lol.

DAMN this thread. DAMN IT.

I keep coming in here, seeing Fallout shots, and wanting to boot it up again.

I HAVE A FUCKING BACKLOG DAMMIT.

Posted on the wrong thread woops.

I used the Steam capture thing for that picture. Can someone tell me where I can see the compression and why this is bad? I honestly can't tell.

Did you use DSFix? Seems like your screenshot is still running at lower resolution internally. Also remember to disable Anti-Aliasing in the game settings before copying the DSFix files into the game folder as it will crash Dark Souls upon launching.

Also you can enable uncompressed screenshot in Steam settings under the In-Game tab. This will create a PNG copy together with a JPG file of the same screen. Upload the PNG version of it and share it here.
