it started as a battlefield mod first.
You using any type of AA on those Dirt pics?
I love playing Dirt 3 it always looks so beautiful in motion. Makes me feel like my whole set up was worth the money.
Also can someone explain downsampling to me? Is it similar to just resizing a picture to a lower resolution in order to make it look more sharp?
exactly. it renders the game at a higher resolution than your monitor, then resizes it, gaining a natural sharpness.
So lets say I game at 2560x1440 do I set up the downsampling software (Im AMD so its that German one) to a bigger 16:9 resolution?

As long as your video card can support the higher resolution and make sure to use an HDMI cable for anything beyond 2560x1600

Yeah I have dual link DVI and 2x 7870's, I just don't think my monitor wants to go above 2560x1920 (thats the highest I have gotten so far and its not even the right aspect ratio). Maybe its because I am new to it I highly doubt it though
I have a DGM IPS-2701WPH 27" but they use the same panels as the catleaps. So if anyone has one and could tell me their max res that would be great.
From my own testing, the monitor itself doesn't matter as much the gpu and drivers do. Considering it's the gpu that rescales the image that is downsampled to fit your monitor. Not saying it doesn't matter but using 4 different nvidia gpus the past 3 years and 3 different dell monitors that has been the case for me.
hmmm...
This is interesting as I use a DVI to get 1620p, but can't go higher than that.
I think when I tried HDMI, I couldn't downsample at all....

or Dual-link DVI‎
Now, that's something i didn't knew. I can downsample here to at least 3200x1800, with a single DVI cable. Unless the cable itself is already dual-link, i don't know if i'm doing anything wrong here... Or this is something only necessary on AMD cards?
Edit: oops, just saw the other replies now, though i'm still confused.
IIRC Dual Link costs much more than normal DVI.

Please be gentle with me, it's my first time :3
just checked. it's a single-link DVI. how am i able to downsample so much then? is it my graphics card?
Ok I give in, please share your ENB + Sweet FX files (try mediafire to upload) and for the love of god it's soo clear that you can see the shit textures/modelling in the game, lol. TURN ON TESSELATION! lol
I have a regular 560 with a 1680x1050 monitor and I can downsample to 3360x2100
