Thanks, antitrop! It's pretty amazing to think that this game was made on the PS2 @ 60 fps.
Yes, I started playing it last night based on your screenshots and it looks amazing (Using 6x Scaling, since entering 3840x2160 directly gives NAAASTY ghosting glitches).

Despite the terrible voice acting, it looks absolutely gorgeous for a PS2 game (even if it did come out in 2006). Right up there with FFXII, for sure.

I didn't know it would "feel" so much like a Valkyrie Profile game, I figured they would have changed everything and it would suck, but this it's a legit sequel to VP and I'm enjoying it very much. It's a shame it's one of the late-gen PS2 games that I passed up because I was busy playing the new consoles. Grandia III got ignored similarly (I don't know if that's ever worth going back and playing, but I loved Grandia II) and I put off FFXII for quite some time.

You can also use custom resolution, e.g. 4096x4096 or something along those lines, as long as the numbers are equal to avoid the glitches. Your screen will still be whatever resolution your full window is in, but the game is internally rendered at that particular resolution (in case you didn't already know).

If you experience the screen to be a bit blurry because of the auto interlacing, press F5 to cycle through the different types in order to get the clear and precise type.

You can't fool me. I know you're cropping those :P

Yeaah!I forgot to mention :) .Too bad the game doesn't use properly the 21:9 aspect ratio, looks more cinematic.I tried with the FOV but no luck, the screen shrinks to fit 21:9 :(

So much motion blur in this game, it's hard to take clean shots.

Metro LL NV Surround shots - Seeing all of these 16:9/16:10 pics is weird right now :p. The concept of Surround kind of goes against Metro unless you're outside, but it still looks really good while playing:

As always click on the screen(s) if you want to see the full 5760x1080 cap

Forced full screen anamorphic aspect ratio (game gets squished)

Windowed mode anamorphic aspect ratio (game renders properly)

Like me, I'm sure a few of you have tried to run this game in an aspect ratio not native to your monitor. What happens is the game is rendered at your native aspect ratio and is squished to fit the resolution you're trying to force.

What you see here is 21:9 anamorphic rendered properly. No squishing. What is this magic?

Windowed mode. I tried it on a whim and it works beautifully. To enable windowed mode, you need to edit the config file. Set "r_fullscreen on" to "r_fullscreen off"

I'm sure a lot of you don't care but I'll bet Stein3x is interested :P

Need for Speed Most Wanted - NV Surround, Max settings, SSAA 2x

Game handles weird to me and is kind of meh. Was my free game from the Sim City fiasco tho

Aarghh why didn't i think of it? Thanks for the tip!, you saved me from a lot of cropping. I tried it and there is some weird black transparency line at the bottom , but anyways i fixed by using a slightly higher desktop resolution (3840x1650) and used a Window Borderless program so it looks like fullscreen ,awesome!

This is why we need tesselation!

You should have seen tesselated boobies!

Anyone sick of this game yet?

Nope!! Game is incredible. I'm already planning another Ranger hardcore run.

These guys should win Biggest improvement of the year. I don't think I'll be able to replay 2033 anymore.

I was going to wait until I got a new GPU (currently an old 560Ti), but I may just have to pick it up earlier. Is performance along the same lines as Metro 2033?

It runs better than 2033 to some extend.

Fun going through this again before I get Last Light. All the beautiful shots in this thread are inspiring. Hadn't played 2033 in a while and lost my config changes when SSD died. I don't remember the performance being this bad though. Motion blur at 1FPS doesn't make screenshooting any easier.

I remembered the r_vsync=on tweak which seems to substantially increase framerate but the setting gets reset when making any changes to video options, like when bumping up the image size for screenshots. Were there three locations for the user.cfg file? Can only find two.

Couple shots from the market while I try different settings.
