I tend to try and stick to scenery because getting nice action shots relies mostly on luck, not getting killed, and people standing in place long enough in the right lighting.

This max suit looked pretty slick so I followed this guy around for a while. He eventually got annoyed with me and killed me =(

So then back to scenery.

I wanted to do an anamorphic version of my first ever PS2 screenshot... back when this game blew my mind visually. Still does, from time to time.

And this sea coast looked pretty cool. I'd love to see a continent with more focus on water.

I did find some water on Amerish but I think it was bugged. It just stopped all the sudden. You could see the edge like it was a block made of water. This was about the only angle it looked normal from.

Well damn! And awesome to see you post here. I think a lot of us have been watching your stuff develop for a while now. You do excellent work!

Thanks ! i was trying to get an account since 2010... :(

Love your work .

can i just one thing ?

what mods did you use to get the grass like that ?

Thanks ! i was trying to get an account since 2010... :(

Don't worry, I lurked for 5 years before registering an account. =/

i made my acount on the 3rd of january and i was activated just 20 days later .

quite surpprised it went that fast after hearing some of the horror stories of people having to wait nearly a year before being addmited.

Saw it on sale for $6 and picked it up on whim. When I was 8yo this is exactly what LEGO's were doing in my imagination!

Wasn't able to find a working AA bit so had to settle for SMAA, which actually does a pretty good job of it.

lol, I was actually thinking that when I saw those pictures posted with that amazing grass, it was probably done by Unreal. Then I realized that it was actually you posting them >_< Those pics from the Kotaku article were epic. I was thinking that you could try getting someone with 3x Titans to power through all that performance loss from the grass.

Calling Sethos . :)

i know he has onlly two titans .

but seriously I think the main problem with that grass is that ever lacking Vram as the main performance killer.

According to Nvidia, maxwell will be able to access system ram. That sounds quite nice.

I've been trying to ask around about what that's going to be like, but either no one is interested or they don't know. I'm just wondering what exactly can be done with that system RAM, if it will be as effective as GPU RAM, and if there would be much benefit to stacking system RAM as a result.

Those games both look a lot better than I would have imagined. Any texture mods going on here?

Regular RAM will not be as good as GPU RAM, but we'll have to wait and see how it's utilized to figure if it's worthwhile.

People often forget that COD games are generally quite solid and consistent ports and hold up nicely on PC.

I knew they were good ports and translated well to PC, but I didn't expect them to translate THAT well.

The textures are just much better than I'd have expected, especially for a game that runs 60fps on consoles.

I think part of the idea will have to do with the ARM core that will be in the Maxwell chips. It may be what is facilitating sharing the RAM. Understanding nothing about how VRAM works, I'd imagine that it would mean a lot for textures and meshes, but nothing for the frame buffer kinda stuff (the stored data for the image?). I don't know, but it must help somehow.

In any case, I hope that it is part of a new focus with 'high performance' hardware, in getting us to a truly jaggy-less era of PC graphics. At the very least, I'd like to be able to easily trade maxed out framerates for slower ones with the kind of IQ you see at 4k + 8xMSAA.

I would like to try it with 2 Titans, i think would be enough... for 30fps.
