2013 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Let the JPEG Die Already

Lost Planet 3:

I feel like I haven't seen enough talk about this game. It looks pretty awesome on PC, and I'm enjoying the game so far. I have to admit, I had my serious doubts when it was first announced with Spark as the developer, but this game looks awesome while playing it.

Heeeeeey. 2 shots per post there, duder.

I think the lack of talk coincides with the relatively poor reception the game had. "Bomba" I believe is the word thrown around here.

The problem isn't what you are posting. You have every right to post whatever you like, however over the past year or so a worrying trend in my opinion has begun which made me enjoy this thread / screenshotting on NeoGAF in general, much less. It's becoming this little smoking lounge for connoisseurs, where a select handful of people have become judge and jury with a healthy dose of circle jerking.

My love started to wither some months ago during a Skyrim episode. Posted some Skyrim shots I personally was fond of and got a lot of positive feedback when a little voice at the back of the room uttered "I don't see what's so special about those shots" - A voice from one of the very active people in this thread. Who kind of butthurt thing is that to say? Then I noticed that on a few occasions with some games, "Oh I don't see what's so special about that" - Got especially bad when people were positive about those very shots.

Even have the exact same example on the last page. Ever since that first episode where I started noticing it, I've seen this nonchalant attitude in the thread like "That's not good enough for my taste, good sir - Look at my pictures". People seemed to just slowly migrate out of the thread and purely anecdotal, I have a friend friends and a GAF friend that was active in here ( One posting, rest browsing ) and one of those actually said the exact same thing to me not very long ago.

Seems more like people have no interest in posting. I can't blame anyone in here for that, as that's their own prerogative but I'm just venting. When the old guard finally decides to post in here, there's just complaints about texture work or the games aren't special enough.

I know I'm not making any friends here but I really needed to vent, especially from that last page.

I couldn't agree more.

All of the LP games have gotten mediocre reception from the Press(Both the first two games got reviews from the 30-80% range)

I could never understand why. I absolutely love them all and while I had my reservations about LP3 at first, after buying it at launch and approaching the game with an open mind (IE it's not going to be exactly the same as the first two, technology isn't as advanced yet in certain ways etc and that the control scheme won't be the same)

I highly enjoyed the game.

I personally prefer gameplay shots, myself. I feel it goes against the thread to post anything else. That's how I feel about MY shots, at least.

You'll be getting no sweetFX bullshit from me!

I don't know why SweetFX is bullshit. Most folks actually use SweetFX to improve the look of their games in general and not just to post screenshots. It's certainly not as powerful as something like ENB but it has its uses. Still, there's nothing wrong with liking a game vanilla. I didn't touch Shadow Warrior with SweetFX. Can't live without it in Dishonored though. And in Skyrim I NEED a ton of mods\ENB before I find that game visually appealing. But that's just me.

First off, I'd like to make it clear that I'm much less riled up than my post suggests. I think you've seen me post a few times, I always come off as an old grumpy-ass man. You have every right to gripe and we've all done it, whether it's someone posting shots that have more jaggies than exploded glass or some 87 year old game where you have no clue what's going on because they decided to take a picture during a high-score-exploding-star-what-the-fuck-is-that-a-snake screen.

:D

I need to post more, but playing so many console games atm. Still, I need to get some shots!

How is performance for you? I downloaded the demo and I'm getting like 40 fps, GPU usage is at 10 %

Which drivers are you using? Also specs?

Without any AA, I get like 80-90% GPU usage and 200+FPS at 1600x900 with the demo. (Which i'm currently using to test for some AA compatibility issues. I own the full game too, but it's quicker to get in and out of the demo in a consistent place)
(I figured that i'm CPU bound or something at this resolution)
This is with a Core i7 950 @4Ghz and a GTX 570 at 824Mhz Core

hgngngngggngggg.

Looks like an area I'd love to run around. I wish I had more time for MMOs.

What resolution\AA are you running there?

2880x1800 because otherwise I can't read the UI hehe. I'm using in-game FXAA for some reason because this game has quite a lot of shimmering on foliage.

I really liked this Vergil DLC. Good bite sized addition to the main game that had just enough new stuff to keep it interesting. I haven't played any of the DmC series before but I'm now wishing I'd picked them up in that sale.

Here's a bad post. I was messing around, there's so much CA coming out da ass it will make your eyes bleed.

You are most welcome.

More like attempted rape, but from just an image of her screaming with blood covering her entire face.... I don't think that's how rape actually works...
