You have to look at that deal before the fact to value it. Regardless of how good or healthy they are Gordon, Aminu, and Rivers were all top 10 picks. Objectively, getting 3 top 10 picks for Paul was and still is a pretty good deal. Hindsight may tell us the Laker deal would have worked out better, but most people at the time did not see it that way.
