2013 Jan NBA Season lOT2| What Would Kobe Chu?

Jeff Gomes is definitely underachieving, but that didn't stop Ainge from giving him $8-9 million per. And don't forget that Rondo and Perk are BFFs. Rondo is their franchise player now, and that's a factor when you make :(

Perk was everyone on that team's BFF and Ainge didn't give a fuck before.

You have to admit that if any team was gonna accept Perkins in a trade, it would be the Celtics. They have a history with him, and the fans would probably react positively to a trade that brought him back.

And as Dark FaZe aptly pointed out, if they're going into true tank mode then getting young players and picks is far more important than actual quality. Perk would almost be a throw-in to make the numbers work.

You probably don't want to see that deal happen, and I doubt it will, but it really makes sense for both teams.

When you tank, a 3 year (counting this year) deal for 8 million per is basically nothing. And the fact that Perk actually sucks is great for tanking.

Funny thing is despite how bad Ainge is he seems to actually understand how to tank. Just by the fact that he's willing to go as far as getting rid of Rondo to be truly bad enough to get a superstar shows how commited he would be once they decide to go that route. Most teams would keep Rondo as a young assett, surround him with some shit and hope they get lucky.

Understands how to tank or the more likely possibility that Ainge don't know dick about putting together a good team.

That OKC-Celtics team we've been talking about might not be fair but it's about as good as value as Boston will get for KG.

At first I didn't think they should blow it up this season but with Rondo out there is literally no point. Get what you can for KG and Pierce and start to tank and rebuild. OKC has some intriguing assets, and given KGs no-trade clause, it makes them the most probable trading partner.

The trade makes sense for both sides IMO. Unless of course Boston doesn't want to blow it up.

I do think some kind of move is coming, but I don't know what. We have a ton of assets right now, and we're definitely in Win Now mode.

I'd just be surprised if we traded our starting center when we're still on pace for the best winning percentage since the move to OKC.

Really? An upgrade as big as KG over Perkins at the C position will basically guarantee you an NBA Championship. Miami doesn't have the talent to contend with a KG/Ibaka front-court.

Well...unless they sign Oden and he can actually play.

If you can get multiple lottery picks (Lamb and Torontos #1) for KG and Melo you have to do that. There's unlikely to be another team that can will want to offer those assets since the only teams with those assets are building clubs
well, there's toronto, oh wait
.

Pierce is going to be pretty hard to move though. It's not like Boston needs expirings, and it'll be hard for a team to match his contract without giving up decent assets.

Stephen Curry & Harrison Barnes will not play for Warriors vs Cavs. Nor will Andrew Bogut."I'm questionable too," Mark Jackson joked.

As long as Lil Kyrie isn't playing we'll be ok

Time to unleash Jeremy Tyler

Memphis would trade straight up Gay for Pierce. But that would Boston do it and would Pierce pout once he got here.

want dat cake and eat it to

Keep playing the game that way and there won't be any cake for you period.

The grizz say yes but not the Celtics. As a tanking team a contract like Gays is just dumb to take on. Especically if they keep Rondo. Rondo + Gay put you in PHX status in terms of lottery picks. They'll get the Marcus Morris' of the world.

and KG won't waive his trade clause unless he is going to a contender, that's for sure.

It's just the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality. I have lots of confidence since KG is a far better player than Perk, but we still have a decent chance to chip without making any big roster moves.

I have less trepidation since I don't think we planned on keeping Perkins past his current contract anyways, so a KG "rental" thru 2015 makes a lot of sense.

I hope we do something, because unless we trade Perk, Scotty's gonna insist on playing him WAYYYY too much in the playoffs at inopportune moments.

Apparently someone imagined the New York Knicks players/coahes with Iman Shumpert's flattop.

From one man to another, no, you should not spend $75 on short shorts.

There will never be a point in your life where you look back on that and think "yeah, that was a solid decision."
Haha.

I don't think they're actually "short" shorts. I could be wrong.

I doubt I'll do it anyways, I just love OSU's old logo.

I know its Simmons (but I Like Lowe and he basically agrees with Simmons), but wtf:

But Howard for Omer Asik, Chandler Parsons, Terrence Jones, Carlos Delfino and expirings? I think Houston says yes … and the Lakers probably say no.

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8872264/lakers

Why would the Rockets restock the Lakers with a very, very serviceable big man, a good perimeter defender, shooters, and cap-space for a whiny-ass baby who might still have back problems. Writers always shit on the rockets, but this sucks. Not to mention they get to keep nash/kobe/pau and Jones is better than anyone they've drafted in a while.

gross

Because Dwight Howard. He's in suckface mode right now because Kobe's a meanie and his coach is a fraud and his owner doesn't know what he's doing. But there's no way he's become this useless in one season. He's still the best defensive big man in basketball, and that's as valuable as anything the Rockets have.

Wait what? Cho has only been around for two years.

His drafts have been just fine. Great if you consider he flipped Jackson for ...anything.

Dammit I had this Cavs/Warriors game on my radar for a week, and now it seems both Kyrie and Steph will sit.

Lakers got Wiggins. Celtics can have Parker. Stern will make it so before he leaves.

I sure hope so, Suns have the lakers 2015 first round pick.

2015 first round draft pick to Phoenix
The L.A. Lakers own 2015 1st round pick to Phoenix (Top-5 Protected in the 2015 NBA Draft, top-3 protected in 2016, top-3 protected in 2017 and unprotected in the 2018 Draft). [L.A. Lakers-Phoenix, 7/11/2012]

His back injury was worse than Galinari's. Galinari hasn't moved the same since he hurt his back in his rookie season. The player Dwight is now athletically could be the player he is for the rest of his career. And him being a fuckhead troll is another negative. I wouldn't be quick to bet the house on him yet.
