2013 NBA Finals |OT| The "Big 3" looks to hang another banner... against the Heat

Has there ever been 2 teams so diametrically opposed as the Heat and Spurs?

-Miami bought their big 3, the Spurs built their big 3
-Miami improved through free agency, the Spurs improved via the draft and player development
-Miami loves the limelight, the Spurs hate it
-The Heat are hot, the Spurs are cool
-Lebron left his city for a better market, Duncan stayed loyal
-The Heat role players are old guys trying to bandwagon for a ring, the Spurs' role players are young guys just trying to make a name for themselves
-The Spurs are the picture of discipline, whereas the Heat are lackadaisical and inconsistent
-The Spurs are all about hard work, and the Heat big 3 came together to make sure they'd never have to
-The Spurs are a hodgepodge of different cultures and ethnicities, coming together in unlikely friendships over the game of basketball, the Heat are a bunch of dudes from the same draft class that have been friends since they were little teaming up in the most predictable manner possible
-The Spurs have T-Mac, an all-time great who tragically fell to injury, the Heat have Chris Anderson, a nobody who injures himself
-The Spurs' stars are old and on their way out, the Heat are in their prime and looking for not 2 not 3 not 4.

Straight Good v Evil up in this bitch

Would be the best championship yet. The Heat are everything the Spurs arent

Yes as fans you can think that but I fail to see what Ray actually did was so disloyal. He came to the Celtics to win a ring, to form their own big 3 superstar team, and they accomplished what they could.

Had he left to go to a shitty team like the Knicks or something just for money then I would see your logic.
Cause being traded means you left on your own terms.

there's obvious hyperbole here but you're not wrong

I honestly would love to see a national poll on who america wants to win.

Mavs-Heat were similar to this, but yeah, some good points in there.

Also, Mavs still the last team to beat the Heat in a series.

The Sun Shall Never Set On the San Antonio Empire.

Even if we lose, our Oklahoma City, Cleveland, Utah, Orlando, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Indiana colonists ensure the Spurs legacy lives on.

Spurs in 5. Book it.

I feel like the X factors to the series will be Splitter, Bonner and Diaw. Bonner gets mad shook on hard closeouts tho. Miami's speed could very well run him off the three point line.

Espn did a poll. More ppl want SA.

thanks for the headsup

65/35 in favor of San Antonio. 76% in Indiana in Favor of the Spurs--dat Salt.

yea roleplayers are important

im interested in seeing what a thinned down, fuck it this is my last year/chance version of Duncan can do on this stage though

I honestly don't know.

There are a ton of heat bandwagoners and there's not a ton of love for the Spurs overall.

Nah, the anti heat bandwagon is 10 times the size of the Heat bandwagon you guys keep imagining.

Its all in your head. The hate is so strong it distorts vision. Thats what makes the whole thing so hilarious and ironic. For every 'Miami fan since Lebron James signed' there's like 20 'Fuck the Heat since Lebron James signed' dudes running their mouths.

Meant the formation of the big 3 in Boston. They were brought in/put together to win titles. It went as far as it could. Then him and Rondo couldn't get along.

Bitching about Ray Allen leaving is pretty stupid. He is near the end of his career and wants to win another ring. Wasn't happening with Boston, so he went to the top contender. People keep finding reasons to hate on players. Leave for money? Get killed. Leave to win a title? Get killed.

And as for the poll question about who America wants to see win, you might get more than 50% saying Spurs but we all know America wants to watch LeBron and not the Spurs. The ratings are always lower when Spurs are involved so they might hate the Heat/Lebron but they don't really care for the Spurs either.

To be fair to the Spurs they've faced some of the most boring East opponents of all times in the finals: Bron led Cavs (one of the worst versions-dat danyell marshall), Nets, Pistons.

I think Spurs v Celtics would have gotten good ratings over the last couple of years, Spurs Magic might have gotten okay ratings also.

Well yeah. But the Spurs themselves have never been the meal ticket for ratings. Lakers with Kobe and Shaq could have played anyone. Iverson led Sixers same. Celtics with their big 3. OKC right now. Miami.

Star power wins out. Most fans probably consider Blake Griffin more exciting to watch than Duncan.

Not speaking personally. I love watching the Spurs play and win. Just not this series. Rooting for the Heat here.

we'll still have better attendance at ACC than yall will in MIA when Lebron leaves next summer and the shitty bandwagon fans of that city go back to not giving a fuck about the Heat.

Ha! Bron is totally leaving Miami for a better team, amirite? Everyone else is worried about Lebron leaving Miami except the people who actually live in Miami. You don't just leave here. Certainly not when we're the best team in the league. PEACE.

If we'd gotten the #1 overall pick, like SAS did, we'd have Lebron anyway. If we got it a second time, we'd have Rose. It's nice to brag about getting the #1 pick because your team sucked. It's also ok to brag that you got the best player in the league because your team is well run. PEACE.

Yup. Though that map is kinda wrong in its own way. I guess people are technically rooting for the Spurs, but in truth they're rooting against the Heat. It didn't matter who the West rep was, the percentages would come out the same.

Birdman's Pedoculture, Norris Cole's CornyCulture and Wade's Valtrexculture aren't adding diversity.

I don't know what you're saying... But I've rethought my position. Fuck diversity. Only one culture in Miami- winning culture.

I'm not going to get uppity about it, because I want the Spurs to win, but they totally tanked to build their big 3. Duncan wasn't coming their way if they played to win each night that season. Not that they should be blamed, seems that most teams do it when they're near the bottom.
