2013 NBA Offseason |OT| Already Planning for the 2014 Offseason

Random question: Does the video of Robert Horry throwing a towel in Danny Ainge's face exist anywhere on the internet? I can't seem to find a clip of that anywhere.

why would you want noah? he's the same age as LMA, and probably cares the same amount about being on a contender in his prime. Butler/Mirotic/Bobcats 1st/Chicago 1st would be a pretty good haul for LMA.

Portland doesnt need Butler, they have Batum and Matthews. Taj would be good for them tho. so would Hinrich.

embrace your leonard future

if you really love lma, let him go

I've been saying for a year now that the best time to trade LMA is this summer while he has 2 years left on his contract.

The problem is that this draft is so fucking terrible.

Trade him for 2014 picks and tank like you've never tanked before

You know, the Bulls do have that unprotected CHA pick for 2016.

Anyway, it's funny that the Bulls are going through all this effort to get a guy (LMA) that they originally drafted, but traded on draft night for Tyrus Thomas.

They got Viktor Khryappa doe

What's more hilarious is that Eddy Curry and Tim Thomas turned into LMA and Noah.

I don't know why, but I just imagined a video of Boozer and LMA on the Bulls together having a great time, all while Noah or Rose or one of those other losers tries to hang out with them, but they're too cool to let that happen.

Sounds like a Knick to me. Get that boy a contract! Seriously though I don't like any of the guards around 24. I say we draft a big there and try to get a 2nd round pick to take Wolters.

Draft express got the shumpert pick right a couple days before the draft last year and they got the knicks taking jamaal Frankin and now all these other analyst keep saying he is on the radar. Basically its taking another shump but with more offensive upside.

It makes some sense as insurance if JR walks and if he doesn't there could still be minutes at the 2 and 3 for shump, Franklin, and JR to share with Kidd and Cope being gone. Plus a few reporter said that the one thing they continue to hear is knicks want help on the perimeter. And brewer and kidd disappearing offensively hurt the knicks a lot last year at the 2/3 throughout the season.

LOL It's so genuine. I've seen that kind of scene play out a lot.

Someone is emotionally telling their side of a story and their friend is trying to show support and repeats something they just said and agrees.

Boozer is still whack tho.
You won't be saying that when he's carrying the Lakers to championships!

So since I haven't followed college ball or the draft much this year,

1. Who is the mid 1st round sleeper I should take notice?

2. Who is the late 1st round sleeper I should take notice?

3. Who is the mid-high 1st round pick with BUST written all over him?

I trust you guys!

Gobert and shabazz are the defacto bust if the reports from workouts are right. This whole draft is a sleeper though. Any team that gets an all star from it will be considered lucky.

3. Michael Carter Williams is a guard who can't dribble, makes bad decision, can't shoot, can't make layups, and didn't play man defense in college and he's projected top 11. Anthony Bennett played with significantly less intensity on defense in college than guys like Bargnani and is top 6.

All the guys I like in the mid to late first-round dominated college other than Giannis Adetokunbo so I don't know if they're really sleepers.

I guess I shouldn't say sleeper. I mean more the guy who will slip into the mid or late first round that people will regret passing up on. ie: Paul Pierce

And MCW sounds like Austin Rivers. He was one of the few names from college I knew this season, too.

But he can throw lob passes like nobody's business!

No, seriously. His read on those passes is amazing to watch. Most point guards don't get that good at lob passes even after an entire career in the league.

I like the kid... but I feel like he's too much of a tweener. I still think Burke would be the better option for us. We desperately need a legitimate floor general.

I don't think there's anyone that will cause a ton of regret, but Jeff Withey's ability to control the paint defensively in college looked almost Tim Duncan-esque at times and he's a really good finisher and free throw shooter but he's a late first, early second pick from most mocks. Probably ends up as a bench player because he'll probably be too slow to defend PnR, but I think there's a chance he figures out how to defend the pick-and-roll and becomes a really valuable player near that level that Asik, Sanders, and Chandler are on because of his awesome shot blocking.

Giannis Adetokunbo could maybe end up like Andrei Kirilenko in four or five years since he's really tall and really long with giant hands, good ball handling and passing, and good defensive fundamentals. He's years away physically and can't score yet, but I guess there's a small chance he becomes an all-star and the guy that everyone regrets passing on since he's projected middle of the first round.

I don't think many of the guys in the draft other than the top 3 (Noel, Oladipo, Porter) have much potential at all of being stars though.

Fucking Draft Express scouting videos now creeping over 15minutes. It was offensive enough last year when they were 8-10mins, 17minutes on Alex Len? Fucking hell.

It's sad when prospects don't have 10 mins of footage..

wtf. Just saw this gif from Miami's parade(?).

That's dangerous as hell. I'm amazed Lebron ducked as smoothly as he did, not even looking at the overpass.

Yep.

Also the best are the last 5 minutes where they go through the weaknesses. I would like to see anyone watch Bennetts weaknesses and not be petrified of drafting him. That shot selection and effort on defense is a giant red flag

Which of the mid-round big bodies will be best?

Plumlee, Rudy Gorbert, Dieng, Lucas Noguiera

I feel like you can't go that wrong if you get a decently mobile 7-footer. I think Plumlee is probably the most well rounded and usable, and his body's big. He could be like a more athletic, less defensive-minded Asik type. Gorbert bust. Noguiera could be something but he's too skinny right now, may have highest potential. Dieng either a defensive specialist off the bench or out of the league shortly. If any of these guy's can figure out a little game for themselves, they have the body to contribute.

I was on the Withey bandwagon last year, will be a great mid to late 1st rounder. You can always use an elite shot blocker.
