Too close to call but it looks like Manu might've tried to flop there. Hope not, cause it looks light he could have easily been in position to alter the shot if he doesn't fall. Ray is just stone cold though.

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed in principle with Houston Rockets VP of basketball operations Gersson Rosas to become the franchise's general manager, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Damn, that's three front office guys poached from Houston in one summer. Insane.

Everyone trying to get in on that analytics action. Boston went and grabbed a specialist from outside the NBA, everyone else is going for Houston's sloppy seconds.

I'm glad they waited until right after the rebuild before they scattered. Don't need them that much anymore, tbh. Rosas is probably pissed he couldn't land the job before Monta though :lol

So uhhhh

What happened to Donnie Nelson then?
Still President of Basketball Ops, probably. Not sure if he was "demoted" from his GM position or just gave it up. Wouldn't be surprised if Cuban demoted him after this embarassing offseason though.

he flopped

He was a disaster

I still get bile in my throat when I think of how bad he was.

When was the last time a star collapsed so magnificently in the playoffs? Hes still a star in reputation, and SA fans still kind of treat him like 3/4 of what Manu was (instead of being 1/4).

Can't believe they let his bum ass stay too.

Uh, Morey was a specialist from outside the NBA that Boston grabbed. It's not something new.

Those front offices had to give up talent (Beal Curry IIRC), Houston had to give up Martin and Lamb.
We (reportedly) wanted Beal, Klay, or Valanciunas (and I'd assume picks and other players as well).

I'd have rather had Beal or Jonas, but that's how it goes.

I wonder if Ujiri would have made that deal?

will greg oden just pick a god damn team

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9...-three-teams-including-miami-heat-sources-say

Greg Oden will host three teams this week as the former No. 1 overall pick nears a decision on where he'll launch his NBA comeback, according to sources with knowledge of the free agent center's plans.

Sources told ESPN.com on Monday that the Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings will all send representatives this week to watch Oden work out in person.

Sources say that the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks -- which had face-to-face meetings with Oden last week -- also remain in contention for the 7-footer's services. But the Heat and Spurs established themselves as the frontrunners to land Oden last month and, according to one source close to the process, remain the co-favorites to sign him.

I don't know how I would feel about another project big. I guess he couldn't hurt us and maybe nabbing him would be a good preventive measure in case he actually gives SA some depth. Hopefully it's Riles or somebody who watches him, I don't think he would spring on the guy if he didn't look somewhat ready.

They're only offering him one year right?
That's the rumor. But there was another rumor stating 2 years.

I kinda hope we go hard for him and beat other offers, within reason. We are the type of team that needs to take these risks to take that next step.

We have a huge hole at the center position right now and even getting 15 minutes a game out of a more broken down Oden could vastly improve our front court.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...e-settlement-ex-wife-20130722,0,7214650.story

"Dwyane Wade and his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches have reached a financial settlement. The agreement was submitted in court last Tuesday, July 16 prior to Ms. Funches' recent unfounded and erratic public display outside the courthouse this past Friday. Dwyane Wade has made several requests over the years to settle this matter, despite Ms. Funches having 16 different attorneys and 2 arrests throughout this process. Mr. Wade has provided a very generous settlement to Ms. Funches to continue to live a wonderful lifestyle for the rest of her life.

Despite false allegations by Ms. Funches claiming to be “homeless” and “destitute,” Dwyane Wade has maintained over the years financial support to his ex-wife by providing her with income over $25,000 on a monthly basis, timely paid for her home mortgage, maintenance and security at the house, 4 cars, insurance, taxes and all of her attorney fees throughout this process. Ms. Funches has made a mockery of homelessness which is a serious and personal issue for Mr. Wade as his mother was homeless for a period of time when he was a child.

Wait. She's getting 25,000 a month and crying homeless?

I feel no pity for her now.

smh, that's sad man.

MJ got taken to school with his divorce settlement. And his kids were grown. Men have little hope of getting a fair shake when it comes to settlements.

Edit: My Mom put a serious financial hurting on my Dad when she was the one who wanted and pressed for the divorce. My Dad did nothing to deserve what the courts and she did to him, especially when you consider the fact that my Mom was highly educated and more financially capable of supporting my brother and I than my Dad was. It took me until college to forgive her for that.

So the biggest chess piece left is Mike Miller and the Team USA scrimmage. Should we close the thread until September or what?
