Which really surprises me how Pau has been able to stay healthy most of the season, he's only missed 4 games this year and has started every other game. He's only two games away from playing the most games he has played in a season in four years.

Production wise he's also putting up some early Laker years stats as well. The Bulls have been extremely fortunate to have him putting up the year he's had for a dude that turns 35 in a few months.

That's what I was thinking, but Pau is like a positive and negative. His offense is extremely valuable to this team, he offers solid rebounding and rim protection. Hes a valuable mentor to Mirotic but he also has his negatives. He plays poor help defense, has slow feet, arguably has taken Gibson's spot and Taj caught feelings, is lazy on certain plays (hey who isn't) and more probably more negatives that I cant name. Overall, I know plenty of Bulls fans hating on him but hes a solid pickup especially for the price, sadly wont expect this level of production next season as father time catches up with him.

Was busy watching college bball all day so I missed the NBA games but

1) Anthony Davis gets 36, 14, 7 and 9 and the Pelicans still lose to bum ass Denver. Smh.

2) lmao @ Blake's charge near the end of Clips / Rockets. Dude sets offensive basketball back decades every time he plays. Also, fuck da Clips as a whole.

dude in the back with the black shirt looks intrigued.

"Hmmm, I wonder if LeBron is about to kill that dude..."

That was funny to watch live since the poor guy went through a range of emotions after LeBron got fired up. He went from "oh shit!" to "trying to joke about doing it" back to "oh shit" and was nervous and blushing for a while after that.

Glad the refs convened and made the right call though.

Speaking of that game, Kyrie was extremely efficient with a relatively unnoticed 33 points on 12/15 shooting when his shot looked off at the start of the game. Seems like he's finally getting the attention he deserves though after being so undervalued to the point where supposed basketball fans were saying the Cavs would be better off if they traded him for Rondo or Conley just because Kyrie doesn't fit the normal PG mold.

Bill Simmons even backtracked on his Kyrie doubt but then made most of the article about him and the difference between old school basketball and analytics as the excuse for why he wasn't sold on Kyrie. Well, at least he can continue to make those passive aggressive jokes about Love going to Boston still... :p

Simmons also still has his "knowing nods" with regards to LeBron's midseason "Miami vacation."

Speaking of Simmons, he also recorded a podcast with Barkley the day after the Cavs/Spurs game. Simmons again proclaimed his Kyrie conversion, whereas Barkley was more of the "not me" mindset. Barkley also got to repeat some of his Love criticisms from the night before (from memory, "if they're not going to pass me the ball, I'm going to go into the lane and get a three second call").

I'm really hyped for the Mavs game tonight. This will be my first time sitting in the lower level for any sports event. Hopefully the Mavs bring the energy they had against the Clippers, because we're going to need it.

Serge Ibaka having minor knee surgery
There aren't many details regarding what exactly is wrong with Ibaka or how long he might be out of action, but ESPN's report describes the procedure as a "clean-out":

Ibaka has missed the Thunder's last two games with what the team has called knee soreness. He will see a specialist for further evaluation, with the expectation for him to have a clean-out procedure in order to be ready for the postseason.

I just realized that the Heat have the 10th worst record in the league. That would mean their 1st round pick is protected right?

I think Cleveland had the rights to the pick, but they traded it away to the 76ers?

It's top 10 protected, but if they make the playoffs (even with a 10th worst record), they'll be in the mid-teens.

As for the protections, I got this from RealGM:

2015 first round draft pick to Philadelphia
Miami's 1st round pick to Philadelphia (via Cleveland) protected for selections 1-10 in 2015 and 1-10 in 2016 and unprotected in 2017 [Cleveland-Miami, 7/9/2010; Cleveland-Minnesota-Philadelphia, 8/23/2014]

Anyone left on that Dion Waiters island? Hello?

Man some of the shots he took, hitting the fucking side of the board once, missing the basket completely.

This guy might write a good book one day about playing with LeBron, Rus, Durant and who knows where else he will wind up before he is washed up and is playing in China.

When your best player goes out, and isn't a lazy ass like the NYK's best player, is it really tanking?

Yeah?

Give me a legit reason on why Melo should play outside of the fans, who probably don't want to see a shitty NY product anyways?

Can't believe CLE got Shump, Swish, and Mozgov for basically just Dion (and a late first). Hell of a trade.

Congrats man!! Have fun and post some pics from the game if you can!

Thanks! With their schedule I am not so sure they will make the playoffs at this point, I think they have 10-15 games against playoff bound teams out of the 17 remaining games.

Miami is stealth tanking at it's finest.

I'm starting to wonder though. Whiteside didn't play in the 4th in Toronto, and the fact that they are not giving him that many touches also makes me suspicious. Starting Henry Walker and letting him take 12+ shots a game is also a red flag.

Not that it would be a bad thing though, because it looks like at best we will get 8th. I don't think we have too much of a chance to beat Atlanta, considering they beat us while resting most of their starters.

Maybe we could luck out and get a top 5 pick.

I just want to thank Billy King, one more time, for making that trade for Pierce and KG. I don't know how much he's getting paid by the Nets but that man deserves a raise.

It's the strangest thing. LeBron James left Miami, yet he's still good at basketball. I thought for sure he'd fall off by now. PEACE.

Damn. Mozgov just Mozgov'd Billiam. Govception. PEACE.

lol that play was awesome. You guys got a gem in Whiteside, his anticipation on the blocks is awesome. How's Dragic looked so far for you guys?

We're playing sloppy D and James Jones is missing wide open 3's so not our night thus far.

lol Cavs with their worst shooting night in months, on the second night of a back to back and the final game of their road.

No excuse though, Miami playing like they want playoffs. That 7-8 seed will be interesting.

Dragon has been a great fit. He brings pace, which we needed badly. He's an incredible finisher in the paint, which gives us a really interesting two-headed attack on the nights Wade is cooking. Next year is what it's all about. He's going to explode offensively once Bosh and Josh are back.

Good first half. Reminds me of the Xmas game. Cavs missing shots like the 2nd night of a b2b, which this is. Stuff coming up short, and missing bunnies. I just hope we can carry the momentum next half and get this win. It'd be both a morale boost and a step towards the playoffs, where we'll get throttled by the Cavs or Hawks. PEACE.

Lol you guys played the Magic and you have the best player in the east.

If I were a Cavs fan I would be pulling for Charlotte or Boston to get the 7th seed. I would not want to face Miami or Indiana in the first round.

Doesn't matter who you played, second night of a back to back is still a b2b. :p Like I said earlier, still no excuse for playing so poorly, but you can tell they want this road trip to end.

Come playoffs, they'll respect anyway they face in the first round, and shouldn't care even if it is one of those two teams.

Honestly, I prefer the toughest road to the ECF to toughen this guys up, especially those without the playoff experience so they're ready for the Hawks who I can't imagine not being there.

Gahd damn sorry Thunder :(, season to forget for sure. Clean outs are never good news, means some sort of cartilage has flapped or frayed off.

And we'll still have two more years of lottery picks from the Nets after we draft him.

I know it's insane, I was really hoping they had this year and maybe even 1 more year left of tank in them. Would've loved to see Cauly Stein here to sure us up at the C position, give them the presence they need in the paint and haven't seen since shaq/perk.

Smart is definitely a building block, but Stevens has to get on him about attacking. Despite his low percentages, he always has more points than shots, which is always a good sign given his 3 point shooting (which everything from his feet to his release looks massively improved, just still a few questionable decisions in there), and the fact that he still isn't getting to the line. He could add 3 or 4 points a night alone if he would just drive more. He only had 3 shots in the first half... for whatever reason they run a ton of plays for Bass, bradley, and Zeller, which to be fair they're all money from the elbow or a little further, but this is about building for the future. For right now Smart is D and 3 and that's it, I don't want his ceiling to be 12 ppg and 6 assists, hoping he can get that ppg close to 20, maybe 6 assists, and that aggressive D and attacking style I know he's capable of.

Also did I miss something with James Young? Is he hurt again?

Good win. This game wasn't nearly as close as the final score.

We defended home court flawlessly against the Traitorous One. You're still bleeping amazing at basketball, LeBron, but from now on we're gonna take that ass whenever you step in the 305.

We already won! PEACE.

Look on the bright side...if you guys miss out on Thon, still can potentially draft his younger brother Matur, a year later..

Seriously though I've heard about his brother occasionally, but damn he looks good too. In all seriousness if the Nets pick is in the lottery or close to the 1 next year I would love the celts to package our picks and go in on this guy. The NBA draft is such a crap shoot, you really don't know what to expect, but Thon has everything you want in an NBA player.
