2014 NBA |OT| Let's just wait it out. Be NKY/LAL fans and lose our games together.

This is all I needed to read your opinion is invalid.

We swept them last season 4-0. You can say all you want about regular season doesn't matter, but we wouldn't lose in 5, especially with HCA.
EDIT: And James Harden didn't even play in one of the matchups last season.
So did Portland and OKC, and look how that turned out. Spurs swept Dallas and got taken to the brink in the first round of the playoffs. Strange stuff happens once the playoffs begin. Though I do agree the Rox should be able to nuke Dallas in the first round. But then again, Carlisle may sacrifice another goat or something...

Portland split the series 2-2 last season and we've at least seen the Thunder win a playoff series against San Antonio. I'll give you Dallas at least.

Never said it's a guaranteed win, just don't think we should be written off so easily.

Looks like Dwight might not play in either Sunday's or Monday's games. I hope they can at least get TJ back for one of them. They're in a pinch without D-Mo

Seems like Memphis players didn't either, listened to Conley pregame sounded like it was no big deal getting embarrassed by Cavs and how it wouldn't effect their approach to the game or effect them mentally. Coach told them to watch the defensive rotations. Best offense vs. Best defense matchup got hyped, but Memphis getting humbled once again.
I didn't know this until after the game, but Memphis is just 8-7 so far in March. Definitely a rough patch atm for them.

Warriors got their 60th win tonight. Even if we lose in the playoffs, I'm so happy to see this franchise in such good shape. Especially compared to the pre-Curry days.

Remember when Danny Fortson was one of the best players on your team?

Yall have come a long way!

There were some rough days. I had a goddamn Biedrins jersey!

Also know how short the window can be for a team to be near the top, so just trying to enjoy it right now.

I don't blame the ref. The new Warriors sideline reporter is hawt and she knows her hoops (former Stanford player)
Lmao. Ros-Gold Onwude is fine as hell, been saying it all season. I didn't even know we had replaced Ric Bucher with her until I saw her on TV during the pre-season. What an upgrade.

Not to say you're lying but look into your heart you know you're lying!

The sting might not be as severe as previous years but the salt will overflow if they don't at least make the Western Finals I guarantee it.

Look into your heart you know it to be true.

It'll sting getting eliminated at any point in the playoffs but having been a fan of this team for like 20+ years and enduring the "it's a great time out era." I'm honestly proud of what this team has accomplished all year, not just the wins but the way these guys have unselfishly played for one another all year.

Oh it'll suck for sure. And like I said, I know how small the window can be, but still. 60 wins and one of the 5 best players in the league leading the team? That alone is a big turnaround. You gotta remember just how insignificant we were for years.

Raps vs Rockets tomorrow. I know raps have been shit lately, but i think they're gonna be on new heights with this match.

It'll either be a great game or Harden laying a pipe on the three point line.

Great win for us tonight. Wade scored 40 points, with 19 in the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, Deng injured his knee and Beasley injured his right elbow.

Hopefully Whiteside and Birdman are ready to go on Tuesday, so we can have a chance to beat the Spurs.

Incredibly Naive
Yuck Marcus smart has regressed in the past few weeks, really struggling to get anything going at all on offense.

Man, injuries all over the place, Love and Shumpert got hurt today too. Two days off between when we play you guys at home, so hopefully everyone will be back.

I'm gonna just go ahead and wipe that Cavs/Sixers game from my memory

Tell me about it -_-;; but a win is a win is a win.

The Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington no defense, chuck 3s all night team were fun as hell to watch.

The Round 1 Dallas upset is one of my favorite playoff series of all time.

Edit: Shitty news about Craig Sager. =/

Dawkins just posted B-Diddy's game 1 of that series on his vintage channel. Shit was nuts.

Tell me about it, I'm pretty sure Beasley will be fine, and Spo didn't seem too concerned about Deng, so I expect him to play. I don't know about Whiteside, but I think he will be back. D Wade is battling knee issues too, I expect him to play through it though.

Hopefully, both teams will be completely healthy though, especially the Heat, so we don't get blown out.

That time between 2007 and 2015 got ugly though. This was pretty shameful by the GS Warrior fans

What? Fans were right to boo him. It wasn't just about the Bogut trade. People were booing him because he was openly talking about moving the team to SF (a sore spot still) not to mention taking the mic from Chris Mullin on Mullin appreciation night. That and up until then Lacob had been doing the same things that Cohan had been doing. Grantland had an article about this.. I'll dig it up later..

http://grantland.com/features/how-annoy-fan-base-60-easy-steps/

Here's a more current retrospective article
https://matthewsteinmetz.wordpress.com/2015/03/24/wrong-rick-barry-its-lacob-who-should-thank-fans/#more-103

There were many reasons why fans booed that night.

One of the reasons was because Lacob bought the Warriors and wasted no time in talking a ridiculously big game. In one of Lacob’s first press conferences he chided Mullin, who had been the team’s prior GM — and indicated Mullin had “made a mistake” in how previous teams were assembled.

Lacob also went the predictable route, making silly and meaningless promises — such as the team would make the playoffs in his first year and that Klay Thompson would win rookie of the year. Fans also didn’t like that Lacob fancied himself a basketball man and made no secret that he was involved in personnel decisions, etc.

So hollow comments, accompanied by two seasons of losing on Lacob’s watch, weren’t sitting well with Warriors fans by that time.

Lacob also was booed that night because of his insensitivity and tone-deafness to his own fan base. After buying the team, Lacob made it clear he wanted to move the team to San Francisco, which is something that all previous ownership groups had explored up to that point.

But Lacob seemed to be a little more bold about the move, referencing it often and holding most of the team’s big press conferences in SF. Fair or not, the perception was that Lacob was giving the heart and soul of the Warrior fan base — the East Bay — the Heisman and High Hat (“Millers Crossing”) all at once.

Between Lacob buying the team and the Mullin retirement, it’s fair to say that many Warriors fans already had heard way too much from Lacob. Like the chubby kid who doesn’t have to be called down twice for dinner, Lacob never needed a second invitation to talk in front of a microphone.

Which is another thing that got him into trouble that night.

It all kind of coalesced with the fans’ frustration coming to the surface. Some of this frustration likely lingered from the Chris Cohan era, one in which the team missed the playoffs all but one of Cohan’s 16 seasons as owner. Interestingly, Lacob’s behavior that night served as a perfect example of why he was getting booed in the first place.

For some reason Lacob decided to speak after Mullin, which is a no-no in any league and you’d think Lacob’s co-owner and Hollywood guy Peter Guber would have known that. Lacob talking after Mullin, the highlight of the show, came across as the owner trying to make it about himself … again.

And the fans were having none of it. There was a point early on, when if Lacob had continued to talk over the boos, they might have subsided. But instead, Lacob stopped, held the microphone off to the side, and started to wait for the boos to stop.

Only he had the appearance of a condescending teacher waiting for his junior high class to settle down or a petulant child who was not getting his way. It wasn’t a good look, and naturally, the booing continued.

That night turned out to be a disaster for Lacob, but there was a silver lining: Mullin, the man actually being honored, came across looking like his usual classy and gracious self when he twice came to the aid of Lacob, a man who’d insulted Mullin before ever meeting him.

Lacob still references that night, and always focuses on the link between the booing and the Monta Ellis trade. I think that still makes many Warriors think: “He still doesn’t get it.”

Yes, that was part of it. But it was so much less about Monta Ellis than it was about Joe Lacob.

Who knows what effect the booing had on Lacob that night and after. Maybe Lacob became a sliver more humble, maybe a shade less arrogant. Perhaps he even became a hair more open-minded or started listening to his basketball people just touch more.

Maybe he began to think he didn’t know as much as he thought he knew, and maybe, just maybe, Lacob took some of that lesson and began applying it to how he was running the Warriors. The Warriors, who, by the way, are now 57-13 and the talk of the entire NBA.

So, yeah, if Lacob became even a little more wise that night, then he’s the one who should be thanking the Golden State Warriors fans.

I was optimistic about Lacob as I really liked the way he went after good execs (was high on Bob Myers hire after finding out the guy was an established sports agent- it made sense to me at the time too- our franchise had a problem with attracting FA's and negotiated terrible deals. Well the best way to fix that is to hire a GM who actually was a very good sports agent).

Just got an alert from nba app that Patrick Beverley will have a surgery on torn wrist ligament and will miss the rest of the season.

Prigs will be eatin.

LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT

So how could we ensure the kind of variety that allows both the 3-point specialist and the on-the-block magician to exist effectively within the same NBA? Here’s a thought experiment:

Imagine if NBA teams could decide whether or not to have the 3-point line in their home gym. The Grizzlies wouldn’t have it, and neither would the Pacers, while the Warriors, who play spectacular basketball, definitely would have it. But how would Golden State fare when it had to play at Memphis or Indiana, on a floor where a 24-foot shot is no longer magically worth 150 percent as much as a 21-foot shot?

Non-standard rules that are dependent on venue?
