How funny, I was doing this very thing last night. How are you injecting SSAO? ReShade/ME:R? Your results look MUCH better than mine. Mind if I ask how you're doing this and what your settings are? Also, are you using an HD texture pack or is that a result of the downsampling?
I was using MasterEffect Reborn for SSAO and I noticed it was spotty to say the least. It only worked when I was facing a certain direction and I could see shadowing of distant objects bleeding through solid objects.
I'd love to add some DoF too.
As a title of post said: Star Wars - Battlefront II Downsampled 4K SSAO, 16xAF, -0.5 LOD distance -> Nvidia Inspector
So this is vanilla without any other injectors=)
I just render game in 4K resolution on 1080p monitor. DSR (dynamic super resolution) can do that. And then resize it in PS to FullHD (bilinear).I'm guessing you're downsampling with an Nvidia tool? I couldn't get gedosato to work with it.

The reason I asked is because your original post only said NVIDIA not NVIDIA Inspector. I was wondering about the SSAO in particular. Which NVIDIA flag are you using to force SSAO? Also, if it's an NVIDIA flag wouldn't that be HBAO+? I thought the newer NVIDIA drivers dropped SSAO in favor of HBAO+.
Are you using anything special for this, or is it the vanilla game?
Surely not. I have the game maxed out with 980s in SLI and I've been trying all afternoon. I even tried turning down settings to see if it made a difference. Where abouts and at what time is this in game? There's no point in daylight where I can even achieve those levels of blacks in the shading.
Well I have the in-game brightness set to 4/10, and every setting maxed.Surely not. I have the game maxed out with 980s in SLI and I've been trying all afternoon. Star Citizen's first NPC, Gilli.
Also this game has some gorgeous use of DOF.

That looks great!
What exactly is Mastereffect? Just a program where you can adjust brightness, contrast, etc.? Can you download other people's presets?
Thanks! I liked the effect and tried using the Sirens attack halo to hide some of the ugly reflections I was getting on the cars. Since then I've figured out that any on-the-fly resolutions changes will break reflections and bloom.First KF shot that isn't too busy for it's own good. Nice.
