2015 PC Screenshot Thread of the Only Place Where Compression Isn't

How funny, I was doing this very thing last night. How are you injecting SSAO? ReShade/ME:R? Your results look MUCH better than mine. Mind if I ask how you're doing this and what your settings are? Also, are you using an HD texture pack or is that a result of the downsampling?

I was using MasterEffect Reborn for SSAO and I noticed it was spotty to say the least. It only worked when I was facing a certain direction and I could see shadowing of distant objects bleeding through solid objects.

I'd love to add some DoF too.

As a title of post said: Star Wars - Battlefront II Downsampled 4K • SSAO, 16xAF, -0.5 LOD distance -> Nvidia Inspector

So this is vanilla without any other injectors=)

I'm guessing you're downsampling with an Nvidia tool? I couldn't get gedosato to work with it.

The reason I asked is because your original post only said NVIDIA not NVIDIA Inspector. I was wondering about the SSAO in particular. Which NVIDIA flag are you using to force SSAO? Also, if it's an NVIDIA flag wouldn't that be HBAO+? I thought the newer NVIDIA drivers dropped SSAO in favor of HBAO+.

I honestly don't know how they call it, but I use 0x0000001F (Demigod) for ambient occlusion compatibility.

(I really like Autostitch, but it's blending is somewhat subpar. The 100% resolution version of the panorama it generates is really blurry regardless of the source files. I know you guys recommended some others a while back. I should probably look into those more)
Those BFII shots look nice.

Surely not. I have the game maxed out with 980s in SLI and I've been trying all afternoon. I even tried turning down settings to see if it made a difference. Where abouts and at what time is this in game? There's no point in daylight where I can even achieve those levels of blacks in the shading.

That shot can definitely be vanilla. I see that kind of black levels all the time playing Unity. Maybe you could try tweaking your brightness/gamma in-game if you haven't already.

Well I have the in-game brightness set to 4/10, and every setting maxed.
I have a album of all my Unity screens here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsk5xSf7U

That looks great!

What exactly is Mastereffect? Just a program where you can adjust brightness, contrast, etc.? Can you download other people's presets?

It's an injector that can load different shader packs (MasterEffect, SweetFX 2.0 and some others) into a game and make it look better/different by using those different shaders. Pretty similar to the regular SweetFX but ReShade has access to previous frames so it can do effects like depth of field, ambient occlusion and a lot of other nice post-pocessing shaders like bloom. It's also tweakable on the fly, so as you tweak the settings inside a shader pack you are using through ReShade and hit save, ReShade loads the changes right into the game (no need to restart the game). Some people have already made some presets that are downloadable through SweetFX database.

How are you hiding the HUD or are you just cropping the downsampled image? I'm running with a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor (2560x1080) and the HUD is a complete disaster. Each HUD element is misaligned and/or stretched.

I also tried your ambient occlusion flag and it works great without any of the issues I experienced using other methods. I'll have to add a post over on the HBAO+ Compatibility Flags Thread at Guru3D.com.

First KF shot that isn't too busy for it's own good. Nice.
Thanks! I liked the effect and tried using the Sirens attack halo to hide some of the ugly reflections I was getting on the cars. Since then I've figured out that any on-the-fly resolutions changes will break reflections and bloom.

Here is a scene where I'm testing out the console commands to spawn and control ai.

Despite all of the recent troubles associated with the Assassin's Creed franchise, their game-worlds look incredible and have great attention to detail. Apologies on the second image, I may have gone a tad overboard with the CA...
