What is your opinion on the Bioshock1&2 Remaster On3rd? Strictly compared to the originals, did you find the toned down/missing specular maps and other effects obvious?

That's been shrunk 50%. The original image (10240x5760 and 168MB) is too large for Abload, PicPar just seems broken and I can't be arsed to make a Yahoo account to use Flickr and for some reason you all have an aneurysm if someones uses IMGUR.

This are taken via a built in "Uber Screenshot" feature in the game.

Game looks very nice and runs beautifully with tons of settings to crank up. Actually runs as much better as you would expect a new PC to run an Xbox One game, unlike something like Forza.

I haven't played BS1 remastered yet but had fun with BS2, especially the Minerva's Den DLC that I hadn't played before. Visuals I didn't really note anything that stood out too much other than some low res textures and texture pop-in with some of the new higher res textures. Effects seemed the same as what I remembered from the originals but I haven't really done a side by side comparison.

I don't think I'll go back and play BS1 Remastered until there is a fix for the surround sound issues though, it was starting to grate on me by the end of BS2 Remastered.

I created a guide on how to create custom DSR resolutions of any aspect ratio.

Credit goes to the folks over on the official Nvidia forums and to DeadEndThrills for figuring out that you can use that technique for creating resolutions in whatever aspect ratio you want. I thought the instructions were a bit confusing at first, so I started typing up a guide that would be easier for me to understand as I went along.

There's apparently a custom DSR tool out there that lets you go beyond that 7 resolution limit.

Anywho, hopefully you guys not doing cat shots will find that interesting :)

Did you max everything out? Why does Windows 10 games look so ugly, lately? Like ReCore, everything's look flat, like no ambient occlusion and with bad lighting and low res textures.

I did except for screenspace reflections that is on Ultra and not the Insane setting. Ambient Occlusion just has on/off, I guess there's an intensity slider I can try cranking all the way up I left it at default. Screens might not look the best to compared to other PC games with better high res textures, but the game definitely does not look ugly in motion, one of the most visually pleasing games I've played so far imo.

It's definitely an Xbox One game with extra bells and whistles yeah. I could imagine Uncharted 4 on PC would look better. Game still looks great though.

This is pretty neat, thanks for spreading the word.
Do you know if they stick around after regular (not clean install) driver updates?

I do not know as I always, always completely wipe my drivers before installing new ones.

That said, you can export your registry settings which would make it trivial to get your resolutions back if you do wind up losing them (just import the settings back in).

Anywho, I updated the guide with a handy tool I created to do the math and converting to hex for you.
