Yeah, all currently available AO injection is too buggy to use in an actual playthrough IMHO. (Of course, you might be more forgiving or unaware of AO artifacts than I am so YMMV)

Amazing. Almost looks like concept art. If I didn't know better I'd call it a bullshot haha.

In the OT someone suggested I use Gedosato to remove the banding (he made some tweak to it which he posted on his github), which does annoy me somewhat.... but I'm struggling to keep 60 fps even with medium draw distance and FXAA. Do you know if I could use Gedosato only for debanding with minimal performance impact?
You could use it only for debanding, but debanding sadly isn't a very cheap effect.

A decent port is a game that works as it's supposed to. Asking for new textures, controls, anything really, that's asking for an enhanced edition or something. I'm quite appreciative of the fact that they ported it without much issue. That AR thing is a pity which I wish they would've addressed though. They did add some features not present in the console version by the way. Gameplay-wise as well as visual.
The game actually does have higher quality textures than the console versions, and entirely new control additions (hotkeys). And it has far larger draw distances and higher quality shadows. It also supports arbitrary frame rates up to 150 FPS. I'd put it into the upper echelon of ports comparatively.

I very much agree. I wouldn't call the textures new, higher quality though they may be, and I would have been very much surprised had they opted to redo the textures for this port. I think they used the uncompressed console textures for the PC release. And yeah, the new options are nice. I especially like the option to turn off pawn chatter. I do miss the option for the Japanese VO. Probably a licensing issue.

Risen 3 | Texture mod

I appreciate small details in game's where the character bends their knee on uneven surfaces. Nothing new I know but not often seen even in some of today's games.

LOD. The Witcher 3's visual Achilles heel. This is why I don't take screenshots of Novigrad. Ever.

Can't the LOD be upped through ini? I remember tinkering with it after the geforce guide came out but performance was already averaging at 45fps and tweaking it dropped to 20 so I reverted to vanilla ultra.

Nope. You can improve foliage rendering distance but you can not improve the distance at which low quality building LOD kicks in.

I'm really enjoying seeing these DS1 shots. Are you planning on doing shots for DS2 in a similar manner?

I was thinking yes, then I realised I don't have it in my library (only the PS3 version) and after looking for it on Steam, it's either blocked in my region or it is simply not available on it. Maybe it's an Origin exclusive, in that case I'm not going to replay it anytime soon, if at all.

You should if you're just slathering it on, yeah. My shots use quite heavy AO as well (ENBseries SSAO and SSIL that is) but I hope it isn't as jarring as in those last two shots. You're having a bit of fun there, right? If not, maybe use a larger sampling range.

nah, this is just how my game looks, haha. it's something pretty consistent in my attempts at using ssao- i always get that irritating fog thing- increasing the range and sample size never helps and it drives me nuts. i just ended up lowering the distance so that stuff wouldn't stick out- when an effect overlaps a close up detail/char it still has that issue, though.

What's with the face texture? Looks a bit more artificial and less natural and smooth than "my" Triss.

Risen 3 has some neat lookin water here. Way better than in The Witcher; water—and texture LoD— is really its Achilles' like jim2point0 said.

The water looked decent before they went full console. Shame about how aggressive the lod is

Awful minimap. I don't usually disable HUDs with hacks as I feel that the HUD is an integral part of the game and if a dev didn't think about providing the option then that's their vision. But FC3 actively pushes me to use something to remove that overblown blob from the corner.

wickfut, two screens per post.

And it's a wrap! Second playthrough was still a blast. Hopefully the new one that's right around the corner is just as great.

Maybe this is not the right thread to ask this, maybe it's exactly the right thread.

When you have a game that overrides your k-board controls so it's completely unusuable, nothing is accepted so all shortcuts to other programs you normally use don't go through, no screenshots via external application and no toggles in ReShade. The only thing working are the controls for the game or the controller inputs.

How do you force shortcuts despite the game overriding them?

Anyone know a solution to this problem?

Yeah it's amazing. Really feels like a living breathing world.

I changed the reshade settings btw. I added a bit of red gamma (1.100) through liftgammagain and changed vibrance to -0.18 instead of -0.25 because I felt the previous preset's tones were a bit cold looking in some areas and over desaturated.

I've never had such problem. What game is it?

It's Oddworld Strangers Wrath HD, it let's you chose between two methods of controls, controller or m&k.
Whatever I chose, the other get's disabled completely and m&k only allows for specified buttons used in the game, all the other keys do nothing. I thought about Autohotkey or something like that but I don't really know how to use that and/or if this actually would solve the problem. Maybe someone here has experience with this?

This page has both DD:DA screenshots I consider oversharpened and ones I consider overblurred -- and I'm sure that for each of them there are people out there who would classify my own shots as such. The old adage about opinions and assholes clearly holds true ;)

It really depends on what the game is doing. Do GeDoSaTo shortcuts work (if the game is DX9)? It would be really hard for a game to break those. Oh, and in GeDoSaTo you can bind screenshots to controller buttons. If you have a spare one that is.

Interesting. I got a database error when posting the above, but the post was there so I thought everything was fine. However, it was added without bumping up the thread! Never saw that before. I'm adding this one to see if that fixes the thread.

Edit: it did.

Looks like the game swallows any WM_* messages coming into the process regarding key press and therefore none of them are being passed along to injected processes. Auto hotkey is simply listening to keypress related WM_* messages delivered by windows to the process and acts accordingly.

Your problem is simply that a keypress isn't handled further by the game at all, it's simply swallowed (so not ignored, but actively processed as 'do nothing'), so it won't be seen by anything else as in: it won't reach reshade. Is the controller takeover permanent per session? I.e. if you briefly unplug the controller, do keypresses then work again? This might help you enable/disable effects.
