Facial animations are really well done, it really improves its precessor, static shot is not the best way to "see" but oh well :)

Thanks at The Janitor for helping me out with Helixmod and to One3rd for the UE3 command guide. Unfortunately the CE tables didn't work for me, something must have messed up the aob scan I guess so UE3 commands had to suffice.

Simply gorgeous. One of my favorite games of all time in terms of art direction. Would you mind uploading the shot as png?

What do you use HelixMod for, though? I always thought it was used for Nvidia 3D Vision? Or do you use it as a way to gain depth buffer access through ReShade?

I used Helixmod to create a hud toggle, because the hide hud UE3 command in the game kills all action while active. You can only run around and jump, no attacks, no evade etc. So that was useless to me, with helixmod you can make a hud toggle that does not interefere with that.

Here is a png, it's only marginally better than the Jpeg though!

If he is then I'm genuinely sorry. It's not how I interpreted it, but then I do get 'Why not us?' emails every day at the moment, so I'm kind of on a hair trigger.

The good news is that piracy is a non-issue with debug builds nowadays. They're pretty much all handled by Steam, fingerprinted and covered by NDA. Any time you get a truly offline build, you have to basically agree to use it in an airtight coffin. The only debugs I've ever seen 'go wild' have been ones which were accidentally leaked or left in the retail code.

EDIT: Yeah, okay, I re-read his post and while he's not talking about piracy, I did take it the wrong way. In fact, I dare suggest he was trying to avoid the precise discussion that I started off! I am a putz. Sorry.

Hey, no problem :) It was indeed about the two possibilities out there and I didn't want a debate whether or not it was a pirated debug build or if he legitimately would have got a debug build: as that was completely beside the point. I didn't/don't even care if it are secret tools only a few have, but just say so (in the case of this particular thread). That was my point. People then know 'oh it's a debug build I'll never have, too bad' or 'oh it's a ce table, it's not (yet) public, too bad' and either have to wait or create their own table.

It's nice if people share things but if people want to keep things for themselves, that's life, no tears shed. The world has already enough entitled people who want things for free 24/7, let's keep this community at least sane ;). And I love your work you've done with the game!

Huh. It sounded to me like he's questioning whether or not everyone is deserving of debug tools. But... it's the internet. Text. It's hard to gauge intent.
Heh no why would I suggest such a thing. Remember, I'm in software, I have to deal with freeloaders who want to have stuff for free I worked 2 years on a *lot*. Suggesting people should get the same tools as another person is the last thing I'll do. I'm not even suggesting you should share your CE table. That's totally not up to me or anyone else but you :)

Happy to see the depth buffer is active this time around. :)

Thought this might get more attention here:
I am trying to install ReShade for the first time so I can use SMAA with Rise of TR.
I'm getting the following when trying to run Mediator:
I've done both of these...to no success. Anybody have any suggestions/tips?
It's not incompatible with W10...is it?
The 'mediator' (I'm so glad they'll rename it in the next release) has to be run as administrator to make changes to folders in program files. In windows 10 however this is limited to signed installers, so mediator isn't going to cut it.

What you could do is to follow the manual install of reshade, and then edit the files by hand. Which is actually an easier experience too, as the mediator in its current form is... well... something to get used to.

Yeah, I realised that when it was too late and felt awful, so again, sorry. As you've probably detected, my inbox tends to fill up with queries/demands whenever I work with internal code. Some people are so conditioned to think the industry's ripping them off that they think it should give them everything in return. Trust me to pick the wrong target when I finally decided enough was enough.

It sounds like Hatti might be working on some tools for retail, so your prayers might soon be answered.

Yeah, those smooth transitions of facial expressions are outstanding. Hard to beat the visuals this year even when there are many months to come.

I took the very moment you see a believeable, almost genuine, smile. Remember when such emotions look weird and creepy in almost any other game, like in Until Dawn? Assassin's Creed since Unity and Tomb Raider are the only games I know of deliver stunning results even on strong emotions like laughing.

How are people getting their images, Rise of the Tomb Raider for example, so crisp and vivid? When I take shots it often looks a bit dull and soft. I usually use Fraps.

The game is rendering at 4K and they are downsampling (e.g. "Rise of the Tomb Raider - 4K DS")

It's what the industry used to do back when people would call out 'bullshots'. Now that type of downsampled resolution is playable.

Both ATI and NVidia allow you to downsample through their driver packages. GeDoSaTo (created by Durante) is what I use for downsampling, however.

Don't feel sorry, happens to the best of us ;) It's just text, and it can be interpreted in many ways.

Heh, yeah I already wondered why you reacted like that, but after your explanation I fully understand, really (the entitlement in people is sadly not constrained to gamers :( ). Don't let it get to you, it's not worth your time. See it as: they have a problem and you don't and it's not your duty to solve theirs.

It would be cool if Hatti could get things working :)

I also hope Square and other publishers see the value of the free publicity their games get through great shots created by in-game photomodes so they'll add photomode tools in the future. Likely won't happen soon, but perhaps one day ;)

I miss some AO in those (first image, edge of the building withing the shadow; second image cars in distance, etc.). Did you deactivate it?

HBAO+ set to on.

Perhaps the radius is rather small in its internal settings.

HBAO+ is VERY subtle in The Division. Ubi has to do some serious adjustments to correct it and get it pop out more. It's still easily distinguishable in most of the shots here but its accuracy is all over the place.

Maybe. But HattiWatti is on the job now, so you might actually be better off waiting for his tools. You'll have a proper freecam that can be used with a controller. Waaaaay better.

Can I follow up on this somewhere, I have a feeling this game will be a treat to screenshot.

Never used this program before, but I suppose you load the DLL, start up the game, alt-tab and select the ROTTR.exe in the process name area and press inject?

Is it supposed to give a notification or anything when pressing Inject? Because I don't get anything, and pressing insert doesn't seem to work. :(

Same problem here.

I already know all that, I've been downsampling for years and post a lot of shots here already, I was just curious if people were editing in PS or the like because they're often far crisper and vivid than mine. Weird.
