2017-18 TV Season Cancellations: Guess which woman's late night show got cancelled

Fuzzy

I would bang a hot farmer!
That looks helpful but what does it mean if episodes are green, yellow or red?
Green seems to be season premieres and red season finales but some premieres are in yellow? And I noticed the finale of Teen Wolf next week isn't red ... is there an actual system?
Green = Season premiere for a show you follow.
Yellow = Series premiere for a show, good for finding new shows you didn't know about. No other episodes will show up on your calendar unless you follow it.
Red = Season finale of a show you follow.

They must've just screwed up Teen Wolf.

I don't follow any shows, some of the green ones I haven't even heard of ... weird.

Thanks anyway, I'll start using this as my personal tv schedule.

Then green might just be season premiere of any show after the first season if you're not following anything at all? My green ones are only shows I'm following.

I love these clickbaity alerts I get whenever a major show is renewed or cancelled (as though there's any chance that HBO would cancel a critically acclaimed show after only two episodes had aired).

For real this sounds like the best way to communicate and really serve our users!

Batteries the CRISIS!

That's too bad, I kinda liked the pilot I previewed over the summer. Hope it's not super troubled.

TVLine said:
Deadline chalks the delay up to the recent recasting of two key roles: Britt Robertson (Girlboss, Life Unexpected) took over the show’s lead role of Sandra in July, replacing Britne Oldford, and The Leftovers alum Jasmin Savoy Brown joined the cast last month to play Allison, replacing Parenthood‘s Lyndon Smith. After reshooting the pilot with the two new actresses and then filming the second episode, producers reportedly decided to halt filming and rewrite the upcoming scripts to reflect the cast’s new chemistry.

Oh geez. So the pilot will look significantly (totally?) different now from what I saw. Welp

I'm not completely surprised that they switched the lead actress from Britne Oldford, who didn't quite convey the gravitas that the role seemed to need. But I am surprised that they switched to a white actress ... that's probably one of the reasons they're rewriting some scripts.

As I said in the other thread, I don't imagine this will get a second season. But the folks using this to say the show has been pre-cancelled are just forming a conclusion and finding evidence to support it.

We've seen ABC pull along SHIELD for 5 seasons and it has low ratings and first season was critically panned.

Heck Agent Carter got a second season on awful numbers.

So not gonna say anything until we see how this show debuts

The Good Place debuted super well.
Seems like best numbers since series premiere.

That number is better than most of its episodes from last season, which is great, but didn't it premiere with like a 2.3 or something last year?

EDIT: Yep, according to Wikipedia, it aired after AGT last year too and got a 2.3 rating with 8.04 million viewers.

I started watching Salvation, shit is dumb in many scenes, but I enjoy it as a light show with a likeable cast. That spoiler did not boost my eagerness to watch the entire thing
I honestly thought that the season will end much closer to impact day or even post apocalypse

I fucking said it was going to drop like a rock, and people didn't seem to believe me.
Those weren't the final numbers because the football game ran long. It got a 2.2 for the entire hour. The premiere the week before got a 2.7, that's hardly dropping like a rock for it. I wouldn't be surprised if tonight's number after the Gotham premiere is half of Sunday's number though.

What if Orville still has better viewer numbers than CBS’s dumb streaming idea?

Orville: 2.4 is my prediction
Gotham: 1.7

Ah, so tonight is when we get the real numbers on The Orville. So what are we thinking?

I'll go with:

Gotham SEASON PREMIERE - 1.1
The Orville - 0.9

Obviously I'm very optimistic about this little nerd niche Fox is carving out for Thursday nights.

morningbus

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
Haven't been in the game so far this year, but with our dumb nerd shows coming, so am I:

Gotham 0.9

All my guesses are going to trend down this year. The Flash is especially going to hurt.

"So you sold fake medicine to the sick and elderly?"

"Yes but I was good at it! I was the top saleswoman 5 years running!"

"You realise that's worse right?"

I think I'm going to enjoy The Good Place :)

Yep. I think the reign of The Flash is coming to an end. Personally, after last season

I dropped Flash and Arrow, I know everyone liked Arrow last year but I just can't anymore. Still watching Legends because it's stupid fun. Dropped Supergirl after the first season.

So Fox & Twitter are doing that special preview of Ghosted on Twitter right now, which confuses me. It's a live watch, so they're midway through the episode now and you got Twitter comments with the hashtag #Ghosted appearing like comments in a stream. Fine. But why would you have this big live watch going on at the same time as another one of your sci-fi comedies (The Orville) is also airing live?

I get that it's just a preview, but they got the actors promoting it on their social media. Why wouldn't you just do this at 10 EST when you don't have programming currently airing?

Tinfoil hat response:

The Orville episode is the one singled out as the absolute worst of the bunch critics saw, in addition to this it deals with gender issues.
Ergo, Fox is doing this live watch thing of Ghosted to try and steer away as many eyeballs as possible from the trainwreck of an episode they air on TV.

I take this back a bit, I checked the Orville thread:
Can anyone be more egotistical than Seth McFarlane?
I don't think the comedy works well in serious episodes like this...

I don't think that particular bit would've worked well in any episode.

Yeah, this show's still pretty awkward about whether it's trying to be a comedy or not.

That episode is going over great, so definitely not an intentional move by Fox to try and steer people away. No siree

So no indication of MST3K's numbers on Netflix? Been a long while since it premiered and on the kickstarter updates it's been a whole lot of "working on it". Doesn't seem to have huge numbers despite a kickstarter that raised almost 6mil for a niche show. Lot of the fans starting to feel bummed that it's not looking hot with how quick Netflix is slinging renewals and buying up new shows left and right

Lol, it's not paranoid if someone actually is out to get you.

The Orville handling a sensitive topic is at the top of my list of things I'd go out of my way not to watch.

Zoo S3 end is probably going to be my favorite episode of the series and it actually had, imo, competant writing all around.

I always love its random jump scares and over the top deaths like the hybrid flying off with a character or the dog coming back to life

Patiently waiting for s4 announcement. #TeamRafiki

Good number for The Good Place. Glad word of mouth and the first season hitting Netflix helps.

first season was added to my region as a "netflix original" and season 2 is airing weekly too

I was going to watch Season 3 live, but ultimately decided to wait for it to hit Netflix. It makes for a good "binge while you do other things" show. I'll also be awaiting a S4 announcement.
