Season 6 is weak but I would watch episode 17 at least. It's one of the few bright spots.

(Spoilers of what happens):
- They trick the main bad guy Fayed into thinking he escaped (the terrorists that "break him out" really work for CTU)
- The bad guy steals a truck and Jack was hanging on underneath for like 10 mins as the dude drives to his hideout
- Jack snaps a dudes neck, shoots up a warehouse of like 15 bad guys
- Runs out of bullets, says fuck it, and still runs toward the main villain of the season
- Gets into a fist fight, chokes the guy out with a metal chain and hangs him
- One of the CTU agents arrives a few minutes later, looks at the huge number of bodies and goes "Damn Jack!"

Yeah, even at the time it aired that one episode stood out like crazy for how much more creativity and how much more interesting it was than the rest of them.

I loved it when, in the final season, Jack just went on a rampage. We saw nothing but the aftermath, which included a fucking flag being impaled through someone's heart. It really made us question Jack's mental state, especially when paired with his mental breakdown at the ends of seasons one, three, and five.

Yep, I remember watching that episode and thinking the writers finally got things back on track and the final arc would be awesome. But five minutes into the next episode and it was back to the same old stupid crap.
Audrey being tortured/brainwashed/drugged by the Chinese was such a dumb plot
:(

Eh, the plot wasn't bad. I'm just bummed it was never addressed again, but it seems like that's going to be brought up in the new season.

I'm 16 real world days in and on season 8 episode 10 now. This is when it starts getting A LITTLE better. Episode 15 is when it kicks into high gear.

If you think season 1 is cheesy...

Season 1 is by far the least cheesiest season.

It was not until season 4 that they decided to go full batshit.

My aunt would get super pissed off that my mom and I would make fun of 24 when she was watching it, like it was Downton Abbey or something.

With James Heller becoming the President in LAD, William Devane will be playing a POTUS (real or fictional) for the fourth time.

heh

just got to the greatest shot in all of 24 history:

just look at that face

I feel like they totally ruined her character with season 6 and then realized it after the fact, so they just through that intentionally vague one liner in season 7 with Aaron and Taylor's daughter to cover it up.

Just skipped Season Shit, and got onto Season 7 - first time re-watching it. Up to episode 4, and I forgot just how fucking awesome this season is. It's amazing.

I mean, fuck - jack just drove a car through the wall of the second storey of a car park whilst being shot at by four assault rifles, crashing into another car and then speeding off in a van driven by the handbrake-turning fast driving Bill Buchanan. thats gotta be one of the most badass scenes ever in 24, and that's not even including Tony doing a running jump off the second floor, not knowing what's underneath to cushion his fall, and then landing on top of a van like fucking batman

skip s8 until ep 16 if you want, still hold as weak but still better than any of S6

Almost through my 24 re-watch.

Hopefully I will finish S6 tonight, so glad I got through it. That season was so bad.

S7 goodness comes in March!

Yeah, season 7 has some pretty damn good action scenes. I love how the windows shatter when Tony lands on the car

No doubt, season 7 after that writer's strike really had a lot of energy back in it's step until the last 5-6 episodes. That fight in the construction site with Jack was also a high point in that season.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.

The GAF reaction to that was amazing.

I'm actually wrapping up my S7 re-watch tonight. It's pretty damn good, but I remember being more blown away by it when it initially aired.

Yeah, I remember that. GAF reaction to Bill's sacrifice was amazing too.

On another note, the backstory for Chloe between season 8 to this has been revealed:

In the upcoming limited-event series, 24: Live Another Day (FOX), we find Chloe O'Brien (Mary Lynn Rajskub) now living in London, England after having to flee the US due to the events of 24: Season 8. Unable to find equivalent work to her experience at CTU, Chloe has signed up at the local Job Center. Depressed and fed up with the experience of meetings with uncaring recruitment agents every Friday morning for the mere sum of £50 a week, leaving her to beg for money on the streets, she has nothing to live for - until Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) arrives on the scene with a startling new revelation.

Kid got taken away by social services, and Morris is working for Sports Direct.

edit:

just got to the safe room scene, where bauer is creating a chlorine gas from kitchen products. Instantly noticed the return of a piece of music from Season 2

good shit
