oh god

Just got to the bit in Season 7 where Emmerson explains that Christopher Henderson purposely missed the artery when stabbing Tony, and injected just another to only put him into a coma, so that he'd look dead and Emmerson could pick him up

they didn't need to add that explanation - him just surviving and then hiding made some kind of sense. That explanation above regarding Henderson does not made sense at all, whatsoever. Didn't realise just how fucking stupid that was when I first saw S7

Mike Novick's expression there was priceless lol.

Mike's facial expressions are always priceless. Theres one in particular in season 5 after he gets a message that Martha wants to speak to him that floors me every time.

I miss Mike. Hopefully Heller is reasonable enough to bring him or Tom Lennox in as his Chief of Staff.

Tom Lennox is such a potato, Ethan Kanin was the best Chief of Staff ever.

So she just abandoned her kid?

lol you believed my synopsis there, didn't you? haha. but seriously, yeah most likely.

And yeah, the presidential lineup in 24:LAD could easily be as follows:

President James Heller
Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau (married to Audrey Raines)
Chief Advisor - Mike Novick
Head of Secret Service - Aaron Pierce

That could easily happen. I have a feeling Audrey Raines will be Heller's advisor though. Still a very, VERY good chance for Aaron to be in this though.

What happened to Morris and her kid?

Allegedly (real spoiler)
The kid is dead, supposedly, perhaps killed as repercussion for Series 8 stuff, and Chloe is in a "pretty dark place". No word on Chloe. Mary Lynn herself linked to a story on an entertainment site with that info. Supposedly when she & Jack meet, Chloe is like an 'information freedom' activist or whatever. A wikileaks type. At least at first, she & Jack don't see eye-to-eye on whatever it is they're both doing.

I can't seem to locate this link, but I remember getting to the site that had this info from Mary Lynn Rajskub's twitter. She's been tweeting so much 24 stuff I can't seem to refind it.

EDIT: Got it. HERE BE (small, character placement) SPOILERS: http://www.tvguide.com/News/24-Chloe-Changes-1076526.aspx

I'm cautiously excited about this new direction for her. It definitely sounds like interesting new material for her to play, but i really hope she remains distinctly Chloe. The innapropriate bluntness and and snarkiness needs to remain! The last time Howard Gordon tried to "mature" her, we got the piss poor writing during season 6, where he basically sucked away most of her personality and humour.

morris became a terrorist, arrested/killed by Sam Ficher

No he didn't. He became a meth cook in Mexico.

Yeah, I hope so. The Season 7 and 8 guys were great too, but Mike is the best!

Wow that's pretty depressing
I hope 'lost' just means that she lost the ability to be with him or something

Just wipe that dialogue from your mind, it's the worst retcon of all time. As you said, just assume he woke up in the morgue or something and then joined Emmerson's people later.

Yep, of course. That makes sense. My theory is he woke up, emerson's men found him and extracted him, told him about logan and showed evidence. He then joined them.

Still hoping for Tony to return in S9.

One of the 24 boss-men tweeted about going for dinner with Carlos Bernard right around the time this was announced to be in production. Could just be a general catch-up, or a "hey, if this is successful we'll do another one, and we'd like you then," thing, but... excitement!

heheh, you think I don't know that already? look at the OP, man

I think it's a definite thing - it wasn't just David Fury, it was Howard Gordon, Sean Callery, Patrick Somerville and Manny Coto too - basically the entire creative team of 24: Live Another Day.

As the resident nut, evidently, have they said much about how the real time format is going to slot with there only being 12 hours? Is every episode 2 hours, or will they skip hours, or will it depend? That's my one concern.

Yeah, I mean, if it were to have happened that way, wouldn't you think Henderson, at the sub, to keep Jack from killing him, say "I've got Tony, and he's alive. If you want to see him again, etc etc"

Season 6...Graham shouldn't be Jack's Brother, wasted James Cromwell, annoying nephew, wasted Milo's return, stupid Audrey twist. Only thing I remember liking, was the 1st 4 episodes, Gredenko, Jack's fight with the terrorist, and the final scene with Heller.

That's also just about all I remember from Season 6.

each episode will be real time, just like it used to be. the entire season will be restricted to a single 24 hour period.

however, many hours may pass between episodes. For example, if one episode is 3-4pm, the next may be 7-8pm. It basically cuts out having to show two hours of Jack Bauer travelling to Corfe Mullen, or Somerset. Or whatever UK location he's off to.

(him appearing in those two locations would be fucking hilarious)

I have to admit, I've got an abandoned prison near me, complete with a half mile of underground tunnels - that would be a fucking amazing location for 24, and I'm only a few hours out of London.

Of course, they haven't chosen it. I think. Ah well.

I've reserved the threads for 24: LAD in the OT offiicial request thread a month ago (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=450653). I'll be posting the first OT on the 27th April 2014, and then dependent on the popularity, a new thread each week.

It's all mine.

sorry mimic (I don't think I've even seen him in this thread yet)

He used to post every week's episode, and his avatar was like some running quote gag. Oh well.

Sure, why not. Bring back Bill too while you're at it. The bomb didn't kill him, it just rendered him unconscious with a REALLY low heartbeat.

I have a bad feeling about this series. I feel like jack should have started retired. I hate when old action stars outlive their time (Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Willis, etc)

Gonna guess if she's back in any shape or form, it's a flashback with Jack.

Isn't this sort of impossible? Specifically because they meet on Day 7, Jack goes into a coma at the end, by the time Jack is out of the coma, her life is fucked. In Day 8 he says he tried to call her multiple times after he woke up, but she never returned his calls. When they meet she apologizes for not answering his calls.

'Tis one of the things with 24, though, I guess. On Day 8 Jack & Bill are like best buds and Jack says - in Day 6, I think - "Bill, you've been a good friend," but since they meet on Day 4, Jack goes into hiding, returns for one day, is dragged to China, returns for one day, runs away to globetrotting... one of the logic stretches of the series!

Though at least with Bill, he was at CTU, so maybe they met prior to Series 4.

Yeah, that Bill comment was always funny. I think the comment was made when Bill let Jack go through with the chip for Audrey exchange. At that point he had seen him for like, a total of maybe 24 hours.

Though they did seem somewhat friendly off the bat in season 4. If we figure it took six months to replace Chapelle after season 3, Jack would have been working for CTU when Bill got in there. According to the season 4 prequel, Jack at least had a job long enough to be there for the rebuilt Super CTU.

Flashback with Jack in London. lol.
one can shoot scenes indoors, even in london.

Just finished my rewatch of season 8 and I...I think I want to see Cole Ortiz come back.

Wanting to see a return of Freddie Prinze Jr., is such a thing even possible?

Seriously, though, I actually really grew to like him by the end of the series, accent notwithstanding.

just reach this point in my rerun of the series

that-s-jack-bauer-o.gif

so awesome

I love how they didn't even show Jack's
attack on Novakovich and his men, and instead just showed the grisly aftermath
. He had become a full-on movie monster version of himself, as if the scary stories that evil politicians tell each other during sleepovers had come to life.

He's likable because he's one of the only characters in the season with some common sense. Entire NY branch of CTU is filled with nutjobs, he's the only one who occasionally stops and thinks "what the hell is going on?".

Me too in the last episodes Cole really mature as a character and I kind of would like him to team up with Jack again.

That scene is insane you just see the aftermath,
with Novakovich impaled with a fire iron and all the guards butchered

If they bring back any character everyones going to be thinking 'Who the fuck was that? I forget."

The last season aired 4 years ago.

Was also great to see Jack recourse to the same technique he used on S5 to incriminate Logan in the end of ep 22 of S8

It was both clever and hilarious. Logan was REALLY funny in season 8 as the pathetic chump that nobody had even a sliver of respect for. Like when he was on the phone with...was it Novakovitch and he hung up on him super early and he kept faking the rest of the conversation.

he couldn't even
kill himself
, S8 final 8 episodes are really amazing excuse the rest of the episodes which are weak but still better than anything S6 had.

And now I've finish re-watching 24, i'm fully ready for LAD.

Well, the thing about the first 14/15 episodes of season 8 weren't that they were BAD as much as they were boring and rehashed. That episode with Jack and Cole stuck down with those CTU field ops kids was literally them just sitting there for an hour.

Season 6 was just stupid and CHEESY as hell.

"You don't even know my name...it's not Ahmed...it's ACKKKKMEADDDDD."

or

"UNCLE JAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!"

or

"Save the boy Jack, SAVE THE BOY!"

Even after season 6's incredible episode 17, they didn't turn it around, it was the same cheesiness and doofiness. Season 8 was a little less lame, though boring but when they turned it around, boy did they turn it around.
