Seasons 1-3 would need a rescan in 4k/1080p as the only transfer FOX have on file right now for those is the original low quality SD scan used for the original broadcast and DVDs. 1 and 2 in particular need a good amount of work.

4-8 are ready to go. This is all based on what Cassar said on Twitter a while ago. It's basically down to if Fox want to fund it or not.

4-8 where digitally shot, 1-3 were shot on film which in the end will lead to the same conclusion, only that 1-3 have to be digitally scanned, get on it fox I'm waiting

Not true. As an example, the only section of Season 4 that was shot on HD Digital cameras was the section with Tony and Mandy's stakeout. 24: LAD is being shot on film too, going by the panavision cameras seen in cassar's photos.

All of Season 4 apart from that one part I mentioned is, as is Season 5. IIRC the DVD extras of S4 actually state the digital test they did. Not sure about 6,7,8 though.

7 and 8 were the only season the be release in bluray, so maybe those were mostly digitally shot...

Seen every season, except the eighth. Don't know why I never watched it actually. Remember looking forward to it coming out and I even bought it.

Planning to watch it now though, but it's been a long time since I watched the previous seasons. I'm sure the major stuff will all come back to me, but if there're easier to forget plot points I should know, I'd be grateful if anyone could give me a quick breakdown of what I'd need to know going in to eight.

Also, I feel bad breaking the combo of Bauer avatars.

I started rewatching the complete series. Indeed S1 and 2 have another picture quality but I had a grin on my face the all time, because of nostalgia.

For me, a Blu-ray re-release of the complete series, would be an instant buy. Please get on it Fox!

I saw you guys were arguing about the most lickable girls of 24 but no one has ever mentioned Kim. I started watching 24 just because I had a big crush on her but felt in love with the show.

"Cougar" Kim, she's sure beautiful but an awful character always getting herself into trouble

In Season 8, Kim was fine, though, even though she wasn't in it much. In Season 7, she was great too, even though she wasn't in it much. LOL.

Fuck you Sean Avery.

I couldn't even get mad at Gary Matheson for giving her an unapologetic creep stare when he came up stairs and saw her in panties. Her misadventures with creepy guys is a hilarious little sub story throughout Season 2.

First there was Matheson, obviously. Then there was her squirrely music producer boyfriend Miguel, who devised, by far, the dumbest escape plan in history. So dumb it tricked the universe into working. Next she stumbled upon doomsday prepper Johnny Drama who saved her from the Cougar and attempted to seduce her by feigning nuclear holocaust. She was lucky, he turned out to pretty cool but still...the fuck was he thinking? And finally there was that scumbag she flagged down while hitchhiking. Lets be honest. There's no scenario where she's not raped and murdered if she gets in that vehicle and she had the presence of mind to recognize this. Him jumping out of the car on her was legitimately chilling the first time I watched it. She was done for if Johnny Drama doesn't give her that gun.

Maybe I'm being too hard on Drama. In the middle of the woods alone when you do from zero women always to having this walk out your bathroom:

I wonder if the finale will be two hours like always as well. Not sure if want; it'll just make the season go by faster. :(

Good news about the two hour premiere. The two night two hour premieres back in the day was such a great strategy; by the end of that 4th episode on Monday the show has you by the balls.

indeed i miss that kind of transmission, 4 episodes in a row is almost impossible in shows now a days

Since I started on season 4 I'm going back to 1 and watching with my girlfriend. I like it so far except I'm up to the whole amnesia side plot and I'm not liking that...

I started re-watching S8 last night and, well, it didn't take long for me to remember why I disliked that season so much. I completely forgot about Freddie Prinze Jr. (and the awful relationship drama with Katee Sackhoff), Arlo, the tacky new CTU and the lame director... there's more that I'm forgetting. I know the last few episodes of the season are great, but I feel like almost the entirety of the rest of it is just really, really bad. Like, significantly worse than S6.

I guess I'll just watch it with super low expectations. I just remember being so disappointed when I saw it the first time around.

It's true.

In fact I'd say 6's good episodes even outdo 8's.
I disagree. Last 4-6 episodes of Season 8 were even on par with the greatest television season of alltime Season 5 at times. They never accomplished this "all bets are off"-feeling in S6 and S7 in my mind.
But I don't hate S6 either. Not the best, but 24 - in my opinion - was only truly bad in the first half of S8.

Aww the real time gimmick is what made this show awesome. I loved when people said stuff like "I'll be there in 20 minutes" and then you'd know that's when shit would go down.

Is there any going back for Jack and Tony? If there is I can't see it

Whatever happens it'll be better than Tony's S7 sendoff.
