fucking amazing!
What's really striking about the footage is that it looks better than 24 has ever looked. It's more "film-ish" than it's ever been.
Season 8 I don't believe had any of the main cast film in New York which I felt made it look very little like New York and was a step back in film quality from season 7.
Of course this may just be in my head. I'm just really excited for the new setting.
They did have a few scenes of Jack on the streets of NY but not a lot.

Oh that's cool, I didn't know he had even gone to New York for filming.
New promo tomorrow (another, longer one).
get your asses ready

I think they are referring to what 24's Facebook page posted:Where's it say that?
They only filmed a commercial in New York, the entire season was shot in LA with the help of green screen / CG. There's a video of (some of) the visual effects stuff here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLVXWVCekJk
.
If I've never seen any 24, will this be a good place to start, or should I go back and watch the previous seasons?

Watch them from the start. Just bear this in mind:
- Season 1 is a slow burner. Also, Season 1 Jack is not the same as the Jack we see after - and Season 1 is the reason why.
- Season 2 is FUCKING INTENSE...with fucking stupid side-plots
- Season 3 is slow, but then picks up like a jet engine halfway through
- Season 4 is all over the place. Chaotic.
- Season 5 is the pinnacle of 24 and pretty much the best thing ever
- Season 6 is shit.
- Season 7 is a return to form with a fucking badass first half and a slightly slower second half
- Season 8 is S6 levels of shit until episode 16 or so where it suddenly turns into the most amazing thing you'll ever see
Season 6 episode 1 to 4 are amazingthis, although IMO start of s8 was not as bad as s6
Season 6 episode 1 to 4 are amazing
This is still one of my favorite 24 moments of all time
Mine, too. In fact, that entire episode was just Jack being a badass. Up until then, Jack breaking that guys neck by running across a wall was my favorite.
guys you are forgetting the born of Jack Bauer (badass) moment...Hacksaw moment
I never liked that moment, it always felt slightly out of place. In hindsight it is perfectly natural but it struck me as tonally odd.

it's not odd at all, is the moment jack just say f*ck the rules and the Bauer we really know was born
yep. throughout Season 1, Bauer played by the rules.
Season 2 was when it hit that maybe he was just a little bit psycho
LOL, not at all. Nice.hope you guys dont mind these spoilers
Did you guys see that IGN preview video? Isn't that?Tony

I think it's just rehashed footage though
Ive only seen seasons 1,2,3 and 7 (actually watched season 7 first due to roommate who loved the show). Watched 1 again last week and going through season 2 right now again.
Hoping this new season really does cut out all that bullshit filler lol
I kinda want to go through the seasons in order. Halfway through with 2. I might skip 3 since I remember it fairly we'll enough and go to 4.wait
you haven't seen season 5? WATCH SEASON 5. fuck the rest, you've seen them.
During Episode 3 of 24: Live Another Day, an EMP attack renders phones and computers unusable. Jack Bauer is forced to communicate via Royal Mail:
Chloe then is seen receiving his letter, which contains his true feelings for her, conveyed in words:
Bauer is then seen watching from around the corner, happy that Chloe may well be up for a date:
