Started re-watching the show last weekend, i used to watch the seasons 5+ times a year (from the year of season 4 - onwards). It got a bit complicated during season 6, so i stopped watching the previous seasons while the current seasons were on.

From season 5 - onwards i would after a certain number of episodes (4-8-12 etc) i would re-watch it from the beginning of the season to give myself a mini marathon.

I change my rating of the seasons as often as i change the ratings to the Die Hard movies lol.

I used to see seasons 1 - 3 as a trilogy, 4 - 6 as the next trilogy. Some people i know ripped into season 4, i can see their critisms but i still think the season rocked, i actually think it had the best ending out of all of the seasons. Season 5 was awesome (but i still feel season 1 and even 2 were the best of 24) and it also completed the transformation of Jack Bauer from MacGyver to James Bond lol.

I am very excited about this new 24 adventure, i would class 24 as being my favorite tv show EVER.

I have Jack Bauer action figures, the cd soundtracks, the fiction books, the ctu agent guide, the making of the seasons books. the board game, the video game, calendars, 24: the magazine issues etc.

What?? Season 4 is amazing, Habib Marwan was a most excellent antagonist. Always one step ahead, I loved it.

I was a member of a few 24 forums back when it was on and people used to internet nerd rage at the plot of season 4, and Marwan escaping all the time. There was another forum i used to visit that had accurate spoilers of the show a month in advance (never ventured in the actual spoilers section).

I thought season 4 was an epic season, and like i said in my post the final episode of that season was the best finale of the show. In a way i wish it was the final episode ever
bit greedy as even though his death was the catalyst for season 5 being awesome...... David Palmer would still be alive :(
.

Season 4 was mainly rubbish, but at least it wasn't Season 6. Season 6 was massively shit, whereas Season 4 had some at least good moments and one or two good episodes.

But fuck yes, I am ready for this. 24 is my favourite show ever. I need a Bauer GIF that more or less represents the term 'In'.

I absolutely loved 24 back in the day and remember quite vividly binging box sets of the show. I didn't enjoy the later seasons (seasons 6-8), but I feel I am ready now for more Jack Bauer!

Season 6 was the worst by a mile.
I thought season 3 was weak, on reflection i still dislike the first few episodes but the second part of the season was stellar.

I love 24 and looking forward to the new season, however I hope they don't rehash the same plot points again and again:

- Kim gets kidnapped
- Someone on president's staff wants war, president wants peace
- Suspect is stabbed to death by hostage before CTU can interrogate
- Terrorist escapes through tunnel underneath the building
- Terrorist escapes through tunnel under an overpass
- Mole inside CTU; we'll handle this just the 3 of us

So happy 24 is coming back. There's just nothing quite like it on the telly these days.

I need my regular Jack Bauer power hour.

The spoiler in the OP sounds so good!

Do you guys agree that James Heller will be a great president?

Someone with authority, but also someone who knows Jack like Palmer did. He knows he can do the job - he's not going to fuck him around like Logan and co did.

Him being President would explain why Audrey is in the show even though Bauer is in London for the duration of it.

I want David Palmer back. Fuck continuity and don't even try to explain how he's back...just have him appear from the first episode as if nothing ever happened

I wasn't aware Audrey Raines and her father would be back. Last time Jack saw him, Heller pretty much hated him and blamed him for Audrey's condition. Speaking of her, i wonder if she's ok now.

Also, was it confirm if we'll only get 12 episodes and then it's over? Or are we going to get "24 : Live Another Day Again" in 2015? :p

It's an "Event Series," the new hot trend. Basically means if it's successful there will likely be more. If not? Hey, "Event Series!"

Season 4 is god damn incredible. Aside from the stuff with Driscoll's daughter(which ultimately paid off), there was very little fluff. I honestly don't know how they crammed as much action into the season as they did. 4 & 5 are easily the most balls to the wall Days of 24.

There was a point in season 4 where Jack, Tony, Bill, Chloe, Curtis. Michelle, Edgar, Audrey, and Heller were all in play at CTU, searching for Marwan, while David Palmer, Aaron, Mike, and Logan were handling things at the White House. It was like the All-Star episodes...no weak links to be found anywhere.

And yes. Marwan is the best villain of the series.

I'm so fucking stoked.

As much as the 24 hr realtime format was interesting, I think the show would be better off without it. You cut out a lot of the unwanted fat from the show.

I hope we get previews soon.

Are there any set photos leaked? Anything at all?

Whatever happened with the Indian version of 24 that was starring the President of Waziristan or whatever it was in the final season?

Fuck yeah, I love Season 4 especially because Marwan was the one and only threat. There was no fake out where the bad guy you think is not actually the main bad guy, it was just Marwan and his group the whole season. Great stuff.

Plus, you got to hear Jack Bauer scream: "Did Air Force One just get hit? DID AIR FORCE ONE JUST GET HIT!"

Habib Marwan showed us that there are levels to this terrorist shit.

I loved that he constantly used America's own stealth technology against them, time and time again.

Speaking of Marwan, i'm currently rewatching the whole series with my girlfriend(first time for her). Up to season 4 now where that mercenary guy is about to steal the plane that will attack Air Force One. I doubt I'll see any signs of (spoilers in case of)
Logan being "evil"
in there since the writers probably didn't know what they would do with him later yet.

Hopefully we'll be done with the rest of the seasons before this "event" starts in early May since we only watch like 4 episodes a week.

Wasn't as fresh on S4 as some are, but I think 24 had conditioned me to wait for another threat aside from Marwan and became bummed when there wasn't going to be. His death scene was laughable because of the CGI involved. The episode with the nuclear football was my favorite from that season, and the fact that it set the stage for the best season of the series in S5 redeems it in my eyes.

Well you're sorta led to believe Navi Araz was the big bad, since I don't think The Mummy showed up until a few episodes in. But yeah, I loved his strategy of throwing tons of terroristic shit against the wall knowing that some would stick. He had contingency after contingency and was a masterful escape artist to boot. Marwan's the one villain to match wits with Bauer all the way through; I really loved their cat & mouse game.

Haha, I used to have Jack screaming about Air Force One and Jack screaming, "Tony put the gun on the dash!" as my text tones back in the day...good times. I've missed hearing Jack yell at people with boiling intensity.

Season 4 was godly. Probably my favorite.

The biggest disappointment to me has to be what they did with season 6 after that HOLY SHIT season 5 ending. Such wasted potential, smh.

Fuck, that's where I've seen this actor before! I knew his face, I knew I saw him before in the past, but couldn't remember where, ha.

OMFG HOLY MOTHER OF MARY IN HEAVEN I CANT BELIEVE IT WTF WHERE ARE MY SEDATIVES AAAAHHH
I never thought we'd see anymore of 24. Was really pleasantly surprised to hear it's coming back. I watched the show for the first time earlier this year and loved the shit out of it. Best live action show(not counting anime) of all time.

This is news is fantastic, though I'll probably won't be watching it till sometime in 2016, because my anime backlog is beyond ridiculous and it's gonna take that long to catch up.

Awesome thread, accurate username.

Here's my wish, and I don't care how it happens:

TONY
ALMEIDA.

That is all.

Your wish is granted!

hint: look at the link in my OP

Think about it - Jack's in London for the entirety of the upcoming season. Why would Heller be in the show at all if not for him being the US President? Wouldn't make sense otherwise. Audrey being there makes sense too if we assume we'll have scenes of him in the White House.

And of course, President Taylor stood down at the end of Season 8 didn't she? There's a position waiting to be filled, and iirc, Taylor was a republican as was Heller.

#HYPE ! :D:D

ow man 24 is back sooooo good can not wait S04 and S05 are my fav seasons after that its 2.
The rest has not real order for me.

I want it to be awesome again.

So you'd rather they kept the 24 hour format along with the political and sideplot bullshit that acted as filler for half the season?

Jack Bauer is 24. The 12 episode format means we get more of Bauer, and less secondary bullshit. How is that anything but a good thing? Every single season had a huge amount of padding and filler purely so they were able to fill the entire 24 hour quota. Do you really want half the season dedicated to the wonderful adventures of Kim Bauer again?

On the same topic, they've already finished writing SIX episodes. They haven't started shooting yet. A far cry from the original series where they literally made it up as they went along, mainly due to the 24 hour format and it's constraints.

This is one of my favourite scenes. The setting, the music, everything was perfect.

Until you realise it's CGI, then you cannot unsee it

Season 7 Bauer is my favourite, he just doesn't give a fuck.
