Started re-watching the show last weekend, i used to watch the seasons 5+ times a year (from the year of season 4 - onwards). It got a bit complicated during season 6, so i stopped watching the previous seasons while the current seasons were on.
From season 5 - onwards i would after a certain number of episodes (4-8-12 etc) i would re-watch it from the beginning of the season to give myself a mini marathon.
I change my rating of the seasons as often as i change the ratings to the Die Hard movies lol.
I used to see seasons 1 - 3 as a trilogy, 4 - 6 as the next trilogy. Some people i know ripped into season 4, i can see their critisms but i still think the season rocked, i actually think it had the best ending out of all of the seasons. Season 5 was awesome (but i still feel season 1 and even 2 were the best of 24) and it also completed the transformation of Jack Bauer from MacGyver to James Bond lol.
I am very excited about this new 24 adventure, i would class 24 as being my favorite tv show EVER.
I have Jack Bauer action figures, the cd soundtracks, the fiction books, the ctu agent guide, the making of the seasons books. the board game, the video game, calendars, 24: the magazine issues etc.
What?? Season 4 is amazing, Habib Marwan was a most excellent antagonist. Always one step ahead, I loved it.
Season 4 was mainly rubbish, but at least it wasn't Season 6. Season 6 was massively shit, whereas Season 4 had some at least good moments and one or two good episodes.
But fuck yes, I am ready for this. 24 is my favourite show ever. I need a Bauer GIF that more or less represents the term 'In'.
Do you guys agree that James Heller will be a great president?
Someone with authority, but also someone who knows Jack like Palmer did. He knows he can do the job - he's not going to fuck him around like Logan and co did.
Him being President would explain why Audrey is in the show even though Bauer is in London for the duration of it.
I want David Palmer back. Fuck continuity and don't even try to explain how he's back...just have him appear from the first episode as if nothing ever happened
If they can bring backthey can bring back Palmer.Tony
24 without real-time is not 24 anymore.
What?? Season 4 is amazing, Habib Marwan was a most excellent antagonist. Always one step ahead, I loved it.
Season 4 is god damn incredible. Aside from the stuff with Driscoll's daughter(which ultimately paid off), there was very little fluff. I honestly don't know how they crammed as much action into the season as they did. 4 & 5 are easily the most balls to the wall Days of 24.
There was a point in season 4 where Jack, Tony, Bill, Chloe, Curtis. Michelle, Edgar, Audrey, and Heller were all in play at CTU, searching for Marwan, while David Palmer, Aaron, Mike, and Logan were handling things at the White House. It was like the All-Star episodes...no weak links to be found anywhere.
And yes. Marwan is the best villain of the series.
Fuck yeah, I love Season 4 especially because Marwan was the one and only threat. There was no fake out where the bad guy you think is not actually the main bad guy, it was just Marwan and his group the whole season. Great stuff.
Plus, you got to hear Jack Bauer scream: "Did Air Force One just get hit? DID AIR FORCE ONE JUST GET HIT!"
Well you're sorta led to believe Navi Araz was the big bad, since I don't think The Mummy showed up until a few episodes in. But yeah, I loved his strategy of throwing tons of terroristic shit against the wall knowing that some would stick. He had contingency after contingency and was a masterful escape artist to boot. Marwan's the one villain to match wits with Bauer all the way through; I really loved their cat & mouse game.
Haha, I used to have Jack screaming about Air Force One and Jack screaming, "Tony put the gun on the dash!" as my text tones back in the day...good times. I've missed hearing Jack yell at people with boiling intensity.
Awesome thread, accurate username.
Here's my wish, and I don't care how it happens:
TONY
ALMEIDA.
That is all.
I wasn't aware Audrey Raines and her father would be back. Last time Jack saw him, Heller pretty much hated him and blamed him for Audrey's condition.
love it
Callery is on board right?
omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgYour wish is granted!
hint: look at the link in my OP
Yep. Exact same producing and production crew as before. Cassar, Gordon, Cochran, Callery, Fury, etc. Basically, no one needs to worry about it possibly not feeling like 24. Everyone's back.
We must learn about what became of Behrooz
The Dark Knight Rises
So you'd rather they kept the 24 hour format along with the political and sideplot bullshit that acted as filler for half the season?
Jack Bauer is 24. The 12 episode format means we get more of Bauer, and less secondary bullshit. How is that anything but a good thing? Every single season had a huge amount of padding and filler purely so they were able to fill the entire 24 hour quota. Do you really want half the season dedicated to the wonderful adventures of Kim Bauer again?
On the same topic, they've already finished writing SIX episodes. They haven't started shooting yet. A far cry from the original series where they literally made it up as they went along, mainly due to the 24 hour format and it's constraints.
