138 episodes is far more than I could had ever hoped for such an absurd show. It's sad that The Office will have 200 when it ends but 30 Rock only got 138.

not really sad at all. happy, if anything. That popular sitcoms will run for a decade is a fact of life, that a cult tv-insider reality-adjacent ridiculously quick-witted comedy got more than 20 episodes is a miracle. 30 Rock should have been dead on arrival and instead it got more episodes than 90% of shows. It's sad that The Office will have 200 when it ends but 30 Rock only got 138.
Opinions are opinions, but man, this one is boggling. What an incredible finale.Just caught up on season 7 DVR'd today (I've been traveling last 2 months). What an absolutely horrible ending except for a couple small good moments. The last couple of seasons have been so bad.
Such a disappointment with how brilliant the show was in the first couple of seasons. I mean, you had some smart comedy in the last couple of seasons, but they focused too much on the smart and less on the comedy. A little bit how Arrested Development got in it's 3rd season (still absolutely hilarious, but disappointing compared to season 1 and 2)
Yeah, I guess you're right. NBC treated them well. They have been known to keep shows longer than other networks even under low ratings just because of the fans. They did it for Chuck and now Community. And 30 Rock seems like one of those shows that wouldn't have had a chance. Shame they didn't see anything in Bryan Fuller's reboot of The Munsters. I really liked the "pilot". And The Office lasted pretty long for something that started out as a carbon copy of its UK version.not really sad at all. happy, if anything. Wow. Bizzaro world! I am... not a Jedi?
Most people loved this whole season actually. Even those who agreed about it going downhill for parts of seasons 4-6. But to each their ownWell I mean there were some good moments in the finale. Maybe watching all of season 7 today is what really disappointed me. 30 Rock went down hill around the North Korea / New Pages section. I forgot the exact season.
Yeah, at least it wasn't a glorified clip show like Seinfeld's infamous finale. Which was still pretty good. Don't know what some people expected.Agreed. 30 Rock's finale has to be one of the most satisfying ones in television history. It hit all the right notes.

Well, yeah, Avery in NK and Hazel the page were low points for the show. Many (maybe most) would agree with you on that.
You're probably thinking of season 6. Season 7 was much better at avoiding those pitfalls. The whole season has been very good, but the finale was amazing.
Holy shit, that was Margaret Cho?
Yeah.
Another little thing I caught, was the "Oh, theyre ALL urgent, Jerry?" thing on the mom message board a reference to Parks and Rec in the last Christmas episode where I think Tom complains about the same thing? A coincidence probably, but still...
Uneven? Huh? Season 7 was ridiculously consistent.I hated the stupid future kenneth bit but yeah. the final season was uneven so it was time to go. s1-4 were gold tho.
Yeah, imo it was a massive step up from S6 and right up there with the best seasons.Uneven? Huh? Season 7 was ridiculously consistent.

I'm sorry, it's the other one.I really want to watch Homonym.

Amazing finale. This was the show I'd turn on before bed and subsequently wake up to, lazing out until I finish the episode I'd woken up to. I'm truly going to miss this gem of a show and I'm glad it lived for as long as it did.
Any clue as to what Tina Fey is doing next?
didn't think it was very funny in s7. the heather character added a lot to the "this sucks" feeling
I'd settle for a Tina Fey appearance on Curb.I'd love for her to end up on hbo in a few years ala Larry David and do a pseudo sequel where she's retired from tv an has a family but people recognize her from a show she did.
Aka CYE
Who the hell is Heather?
I think he means Helen. Or wait, is that right? Wassername?
I can't believe this show ended before The Office, that sucks. Was this cancelled because of low ratings? What is NBC planning to replace it with?
