Seeing this tonight after work just for Eva Green.

Movie wasn't half-bad.

The protagonist (don't even remember his name) didn't have even 1/2 of the charisma, testosterone, and hype that Leonidus had in the original, but the visuals and sound brought it up to par. Lena Headey did a fantastic job as always although her role is hardly a prominent one, and Artemesia's (Eva Green) character may as well have been the main character of the film. Even if she wasn't played by what happens to be a gorgeous actress, she was easily the best part. The action was merely ok with a few standout badass moments.

It's not a bad idea to rewatch the original 300 before this, but it's not necessary either. I only saw it once back in theatres, but it brings you back up to speed pretty effectively.

3/5

3/5

Just saw it and I agree with the above except that I would rate it 3.5/5 only because of Eva Green.

Just saw this, I enjoyed it, looks great, the action was pretty good and the pacing is fast so you don't get bored, it was definitely much better than I expected it to be.
Eva Green is breathtakingly beautiful, dear god, I could stare at that face all day.

Face?

Saw this last night. Should be titled...

300: Eva Green Show.

I mean... She was the focus for most of the movie. And she kicked ass. THAT scene was epic.

I'll be seeing this tonite, with expectactions as low as possible.
I loved 300, but this seriously seems like utter shit to me.

I'm going to keep my expecations low, even with this positive press it's getting. Part of me is saying a sequel without the 300, without Leonidas has to be crap.

So I want to be proved wrong. xD

300 really caught me by surprise when I saw it (expected to hate it, ended up loving it), but I'd say this is equally as good, the protagonist(s) are not as charismatic as the Trojans were
You've listened too much Kanye West, there are no Trojans in 300.

I don't even trust reviews when it comes to a movie like this. First you'll have the historical accuracy crowd complain, which is absurd. Second you'll have those that hate the cinematography. Finally, you'll have those that see sexual innuendo in everything and can't get past the soldiers pecs.

If I hated the first movie because it ruined my view about this incredbile story and because it was boring, am I going to like this? Does it mimic Snyder's style?

I didn't enjoy the first one all that much. This kind of movie isn't my thing, but my wife loved it so I'll try to keep an open mind when we inevitably go see it in a few days.

I fucking adore Eva Green though, so the fact that she has a leading role will probably make me enjoy this more than the first movie.

Movie was great, Eva Green made this movie great. That Strike Back dude was okay, he's no King Leonidas. If you liked 300, you will like this too.

No "By Jupiter's Cock" or "Once again the gods spread the cheeks and ram cock in fucking ass!", No Sale!

Ahhh, so your looking for a historically accurate film then?

My wife and I had a Spartacus drinking game. Cock - 1 drink, Cock in ass - Chug it! Loads of fun!

I wasn't really hyped for this movie until I came to this thread. Now, I think I'll go this weekend!

Eva Green is great, loved her in Casino Royale and Camelot. Jokes aside, it really is all about those eyes.

Saw this last night and I had a blast. I think it just comes down to personal preference if you like this over the original or not (I prefer 300), but it was a lot of fun to watch. Green was the best part of the movie, but I enjoyed Stapleton's performance as well.

Snyder's writing is there, and you can tell a lot of this stuff is him.

If you enjoyed the first 300, you'll like this one, no doubt. If you didn't, I wouldn't bother too much with this one.

Actually, now that I think about it, only Leonidas talked with a raised voice all the time.

Do they fight on land? Seems pretty boring to randomly enter boats and killing everyone on board instead of using battle formations. I love battle formations.

The boats were a pretty big deal and the reason why the Greeks won the battle. Also, they really only had one battle formation and you saw it a bunch in 300.

I heard that that this movie contains that Battle of Salamis right? If so,
then yes. In fact, it's her fault they lose, historically.

Hmm, she survives the battle historically though. In fact Xerxes highly praises her afterwards

i'll catch this when it hits bluray for strike back and eva green's sake. she looks awesome in here.

Doing yourself a disservice. I was surprised at how good this was.
This was a strange, strange, film. I honestly don't know how it got made. It's a prequel, a sequel, and everything in between and it all works together. The 3D was great, and is the only way you should see this.

Eva Green is exceptional. I loved every bit of her. This was her film. She should have her own spin-off, I'd pay good money for this.
