3DS owners, what are you currently playing?

I just finished Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, so now I'm finally going to start Pokémon Y. Also, finding time for daily checks into Tomodachi Life.

The 3DS is providing some great gaming right now!

Started playing Bravely Default this week, after only meddling with the demo when it was released in EU. I've just reached chapter one, and the story, setting and characters are all very charming, as is the music and graphics. So far so good!

Same here. The button control scheme is just too good *-*

I haven't tried it yet (looking forward to it), but I will say I'm surprised to hear so many positive comments about the button controls from the US demo. iirc people were saying they were laggy and worse than the touch controls when the JP version came out.

Currently playing Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright after completing Bravely Default. I'm loving the trials and the Phoenix Wright parts of the game, but the Professor Layton parts drag the game down. I might return to Bravely Default to fight the optional asterisk battles again.

Keep in mind that I'm not exactly a prodigy, but I managed to score an SS score in the J-E-N-O-V-A song in the demo (BMS) on Expert Score in my first try, something that I never managed to do in the first game. Difference to me is most noticable in sections where you would have to tap and then flick the stylus in quick succession usually. Having these inputs seperated helped me tremedously. Just to compare - my first try of the same song with traditional touch controls (which I did after testing button controls btw so I was familiar with the song) was merely a B.

And to my suprise I even managed to keep up in the FMS using button controls, but touch controls still feel more natural there.

Absolutely glued to it. A buddy sent it to me a couple years ago and it has been in my 'rainy day/backlog' pile. I booted it up the other day and suddenly I am 13 hours into it and having a blast.

The voice acting really draws you into the story (Which isn't necessarily important to me generally) and after playing Shin Megami IV for a few hours it has me looking to load that back up again too. Very fun SRPG.

Just beat Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright

got nothing to play on my 3DS now until Smash Bros./Pokemon ORAS/Persona Q come out..

Have been doing daily checks on Tomodachi Life while putting small sessions into Bravely Default, Mario Golf, and Kirby Triple Deluxe. Trying to finish them before Smash 3DS puts them into my backlog for a longer time.

I just finished A Link Between Worlds and am staring this up as well.

Awesome. Not afraid to admit that even though I originally chose 'normal' difficulty, four hours later (And doing well actually), and after reading it can get a bit difficult later on, I wimped out and restarted on 'easy'.

I just want to enjoy it, and considering my lack of gaming time I don't want any crazy fluctuation in difficulty to ruin the fun.

Finished Project X Zone...Rinko still needs me in New Love Plus+.

That will probably be the only game I will play until Smash

I resumed my 17 hour Project X Zone save from a year ago last week but quickly sidelined into Devil Survivor...I actually enjoy PXZ but it burns me out too quickly and I wanted an SRPG with some meat on it. It is great how easy PXZ is to pick up and play however without worrying where you left off...hehe

Resident Evil Revelations.

Not really digging this. Is the whole game 'episodic'? Feels very basic and lackluster after playing Link Between Worlds.

Has anyone been keeping up with the demos? I just checked today and there's like 9 new ones since Tomodachi Life. I've been trying to check out each demo that gets posted but I might have to start being selective.

That's exactly how I feel about the game. It's easy to pick up, but I get burnt out so fast. No wonder it took me this long.

It's funny, I am not a Resident Evil fan in the least and Revelaitons is the only other RE game next to 4 that I sat, finished to the end and flat out enjoyed every moment of.

I am really upset the sequel isn't coming to 3DS. I thought it was fantastic.

I've been playing Pokemon X and Y with my seven year old son on and off for the past couple months. He just 'discovered' it back in June. Being that I am 40, I was never really into the Pokemon scene back when it came out in the 90's so I've certainly never finished or really played much of one before outside a few hours of Diamond on the DS. Having a much younger brother who was a huge fan of it though, I totally get how it all works however.

Basically we bought our son X and I had the digital version of Y free on my system thanks to that Yoshi Island promo earlier in the year so it has been a nice bonding experience for us.

I just got my fifth badge tonight and he is right behind me on his. The big kicker here? He has 247 hours of game time to my 35. LOL

Looks like I may be finishing my first Pokemon game. Trying to get them done by the time Alpha/Omega arrive.

Pretty much only Animal Crossing.

stopped Playing Ocarina of Time a while ago and its hard to come back to after progressing far into it. It was my first time playing it seriously.

I have Luigis Mansion sealed but still haven't had the desire to open it up.

so just Animal Crossing.

Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies. I hope Maya is mentioned, or at least makes an appearance of some sort.
Toward the end, it is strongly implied that she will be returning in a future game. No direct sequel announced yet (they're doing 'The Great Ace Attorney' prequel) but I bet it's coming, I think AA5 sold pretty well.

If you need an immediate Maya fix, she's one of the main characters in Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright, which is out now. Working my way through it now and definitely enjoying it.

Still trucking on with Virtue's Last Reward. Feel like I'm getting somewhere now because
for one of the AB game votes, Tenmyouji voted Betray while I voted Ally, whereas when I went back to the same vote to choose Betray, Tenmyouji voted Ally. Sigma even said that wasn't what happened last time.

Also Clover's been revealing a few details about
SOIS and her role in the Nonary games with Alice. I swear I remembered her brother being one of the bad guys in 999 though...

Edit: Oh shit,
Neostigmine is a cure for tubocurarine! That means Sigma can save himself in the five minutes he has left in the Lock 3 ending. That's pretty cool, although I still don't know how to 'transfer' physical items to separate branches in the flowchart since I've known about the key to open K's armour for ages now.

Just preordered Alpha Sapphire(steelbook!) and Smash, and I'm trying to finish most of my handheld games before those arrive. I'm currently playing Pokemon Platinum, at the elite four now, so I should finish it within the next few days .

I used two $5 off coupons from gamestop to pick up Pokemon Conquest and 999 for cheap. I also recently picked up Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies from the eShop on sale, after beating Apollo Justice a few weeks ago. I'm slowly working my way through Pokemon Conquest, which just doesn't feel as polished or fluid as I would have expected. I'm pretty impressed with AA. It's a little weird seeing 3D graphics instead of sprites, but I suspect the change will open the series up to more mechanics (I'm still on the first case).

I cleared one path of VLR, but never went back and saw the whole story like I wanted to. I'm unsure if I'll pick that back up before I begin 999 or not, but either way I'm definitely going to finish AA first.

Finish 999 before you pick up VLR again, it's worth it.

Bought Fire Emblem: Awakening and Kid Icarus: Uprising, yesterday. Just started the first and i'm enjoying it a lot (though i'm restarting every time i lose someone, don't want them to die :C)

I want Smash Bros in my veins, though. Can't wait.

Heyyyy!

I just came here because I felt the need to express my joy.

After a year and a half without a 3DS, I decided to just suck it up and plop down for a 2DS. At first, I was like: "A man will do dirty things just to Smash." But then I opened the box and held the thing for the first time. Dear God, it's amazing. I've never held a more comfortable handheld. It feels like a Gameboy Color grew up to fit my grown up hands (OG 3DS was impossible for me to play for more than a few hours. The Vita, while an amazing console, is also reaaaalllyy bad in terms of comfort). So, I love this little blue and black door stop. The only thing I think I'm missing now but will eventually get used to is the 3D. I do miss it :/

I bought A Link Between Worlds with it since I never got a chance to play it. It's fantastic. Music, atmosphere, gameplay, it's great. It's my first top down Zelda since Link's Awakening DX. I'm loving it.

Since I'm holding back on my spending, I won't be getting another 3DS title until Smash, but what about after that? Anyone got any recommendations? And does anyone else feel the same about the 2DS as I do? Just curious

I guess next you're going to have to play Kirby: Triple Deluxe. Glad you're digging the 2DS, I really like the look of it!

I heard TripleD was too easy. Is this true?

Generally easy to beat. Generally pretty tough to 100%. OTOH, I absolutely love Mass Attack (DS), though, and that's both harder and cheaper ($15 used at GS), as well as playable on your 2DS. Canvas Curse is great, too, and very very tough to 100%.

ETA: OTOH, if you want an entirely different 3DS platformer that's plenty tricky from the get-go and very hard to 100%--and incredibly fun--DKCR 3D is amazing, especially if you haven't already played the Wii version.

Picked up a cart-only Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy with the 5 dollar off Gamestop coupon for a grand total of 3 dollars :)

This is my first experience with Ace Combat, and from my understanding the Action Maneuvers are a new addition and a bit of a game-changer. I find that I can't pass the missions without using it, so I don't exactly feel skilled when I play this game. Game is getting me a bit pissy with its escort missions, but I'm loving the old-school feel (the game is a remake of the PS1 Ace Combat 2) of the game and the audiovisual package overall. This will probably be the best value I'll get in my 3DS gaming.

I don't know if this is the right thread to ask but I'll give it a shot anyway.

Tomorrow I'll receive my pre owned 3ds xl that I snatched for a good price of eBay.
Basically I'm going to have access to following games from tomorrow on but don't know what I should start with.

The games are:
Shin Megami Tensei 4
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Bravely Default
Etrian Odyssey 4
Star Fox 64
Kid Icarus
Zelda Oot
Zelda Albw
Fire Emblem
Ds 999
Ds Ghost trick

I never played on a 3ds before and I'd like to get the best first experience possible.
What would you guys suggest?
