How does the PS1 version of FFVI play on the Vita? Are the load times bearable?
the load times being bearable really depends on the person. given the fact there weren't any load times on the snes version a lot of people can't handle the fact that there is a few seconds of loading when a battle starts and at other times... it's been a while so I can't recall exactly how bad the loading was. I do recall 6's loading was worse than 5's (for NA, my EU friend has horrible load times in 5)
US Plus members get additional discounts almost all the time.

they also tend to have those discounts announced with the sales anymore thus plus members likely won't be seeing an extra discount.

Finally time to get that Duo whatever sequel, FF IX and Final Fantasy IV:Complete. I am a bit uncertain if I am interested in playing through VIII again. I did enjoy a lot what I played (got to disc 3-4) but switching junctions and a lot of terrible scenarios makes it difficult to play through again. Also the game was too easy. I know wont be playing FF IV again any time soon as I noticed how dull that campaign (13 year old nostalgia) is as I am currently playing the DS version with its difficulty adding a new challenge to that game.

Oh yeah, this is definitely it. They're still some good prices though. Nothing on the list considered a bad game by any means.

So torn, have considered FF to be largely awful from 7 on but I don't want to buy one of the earlier games and ruin my nostalgia for it.

Yes!! Think I'll get 7, 8 and 9! As a UK customer how do I buy from the US store? Can I just enter credit card details or will that not work?

So as someone who has never played FF4 but really liked FF6/Chrono Trigger, will FF4 appeal to me? I consider myself a moderate FF fan, loved PS1 and PS2 FFs, but I'm a bit intimidated by all the "4 is only good because of nostalgia goggles" comments.

4 is really good but the ps1 port is one of the worst version of 4. Get the ds or ios(never played the ios but its based on the ds) 3d remake one for the best version of ff4, if you have to play it on a ps vita /psp get ff4 the complete collection.

First you need to create a US SEN account. AFAIK foreign credit cards won't work, so get a PSN card from Amazon.com instead. You'll have to enter a real US address as your billing address when buying these PSN cards. Simply copy and paste an existing US address from somewhere, it'll work. Once you get the code, redeem it at PS Store and you're set.

Works fine, though watch out for mashes of pixels if you play it at full resolution on a HD TV. Better keeping it for the PSP and Vita.

How about on a 23 inch monitor? Will FFIX look okay or it or should I save it for when I get a Vita?

How's FF7 on the PS3? Never played it so I guess it should be a good time to try it.

holds up the best of all of them IMO, pace and gameplay are pretty quick compared to the later games and the graphics have a charm that the subsequent games lack.

I don't even turn on smoothing but maybe i like pixels too much

SNES Final Fantasy III/VI was 24megs. On the PSN store it's nearly 200! What's the story with that?

"Megs" in the cartridge days were megabits, MB on PSN (and most other modern systems) are megabytes. The original SNES game was only about 3 MB, so it's a bit crazy that these games still have loading issues...until those are resolved I'll be sticking with my GBA versions of V and VI. Probably pick up duodecim and IV CC during this sale though.

I heard they added PayPal to the payment options; I live in Europe, can I buy stuff from the US Store with PayPal?
I rather have the 60Hz version of these games

I was just going to get IX but then realized I should just get VI-IX. I am pretty sure I am not going to dust off my PS1 to play them again. My Vita is ready.

I know I'm getting 6 and 7 from the this sale but I have a hard time with my final pick.

Between 8 and 9 which game "stands the test of time" better? It's been a while since I played them and while I did enjoy them, I need some advice.

Thank You in advance.

Get 7, 8 and 9. The PSone version of 6 is horrible.

Anyone else notice partial discounts on the market right now? Origins, War of the Lions, tactics and 6 are on sale as far as i see.

I'm seeing 7, 8 and 9 on sale now (through my Vita). I had to actually enter the game's store page to get the price to update.

IX is already 4.99

Just snagged 6 and 8. I know 6 has load times but I want a portable version and I don't have access to a GBA anymore. I'll manage. Never played either of them. Should be a fun week!

So for someone who isn't really into fighting games, is duodecum worth it for 10 bucks?

I've never really been big into fighting games, but i find it really really fun. You don't have to memorize any crazy complicated combos to have fun with it. Plus who dosn't want to fight as their favorite FF Characters : D

Yes, it's a nice blend of RPG/Fighting. It doesn't really feel like either, but has the best of both worlds at the same time.

Just bought IV complete, VI, and One Piece + DLC. Going to let my wallet breathe a bit.

dumb question, can i play V on my vita? i know i cant buy it from the store and i remember hearing that it might work with uk, but what about for N/A. I'd just have to transfer from ps3?
