I mean I do use a car now and then but I don't ever need it in Prague thanks to a good public transportation system. I do feel cool using my US license when I get pulled over in the EU. They always accept it. That number 1 country in the world privilege goes far.
That's one of the thing I like about big cities in Japan: They've a huge public transport coverage, especially subways and trains. I don't mind their rush hour since it's somewhat the same mess here in Santiago (you can't ride several trains because they're fully packed).
The also have good transport to many cities through the shinkansen. I wish we could have a bullet train here in Chile, but there are vested interests by bus companies oligopoly.
