i know free crunchyroll on the browser isn't hd but is it hd on other devices??????

i can't tell with my wii u because the show i'm watching is from the late 70's so it wouldn't even be hd anyway

quality at least looks 480p

480p is fine too

i watch dvds on my laptop and that's about the same resolution as my tv (1280x800 on laptop vs 1366x1768 on tv) and i think it looks just fine :)

480p looks perfectly fine

the fact that people think it doesn't just proves people are snobs over stuff that doesn't fucking matter at all

I think your earlier comments already proved that.

Anyhow, 480p gets the job done, especially if you're watching older shows that already look kinda bad in the first place. It's just that 720p and 1080p are objectively better.

 I clicked a few times! <3

It doesn't matter. Anyone can click as much as they want! (^_-)~✩ (Unless they reach 2^64 clicks which would either cause and overflow or in the best case reset it to -2^64. Yeah, I'm storing it in a BIGINT in MySQL)

I don't know why just in my home PC the gifs tries to loop for a few milliseconds, but with my office's PC it doesn't do that. I tried both firefox and chrome at work, but only firefox at home.

Must be some weird browser/OS combination. (I'm using XP 64 at home)

Inafking just wants Chet-senpai to notice him.

What's weird is that I'm way older than Chet and I feel ashamed to be considered a Kouhai (;^_^)

I want to hug them all. Especially Ui :D.

You stole my idea!
Just kidding!

I'd use Jun's head as a feather duster (but I'd caress her hair first)

There's an anime con in Prague right now!!! I'll go tomorrow and report on it. Hoping for some KyoAni cosplayers. Never been to an anime con before

P.S. Nice job Google on making it impossible to get the link for the source images on mobile. Now I have to use freaking bing when posting from my phone. Why is there no option to go to the source link on mobile?

So the Czech Republic is clearly not a KyoAni kind of country. Lots of cosplay though which makes me happy that there is a dedicated audience. Some I recognize, most I do not. There is a mostly younger audience here. Let's say high school to college age for the most part. Gender-wise it's really even which is great. In a way I guess that makes sense. Anime/manga isn't marketed at any target group so in the end you have outsiders who simply found anime/manga through the Internet without having any gender perceptions about the medium.
The convention is 4 days. This is day 3. Overal it's a decent convention. I've gone to some panels and plan on seeing one more. They have Lots of console games so I've been playing lots of Smash Wii U. Street fighter 2 champion edition is here in cabinet form. The computer kicked my ass lol. Well, it was cool to finally go to a convention.

It's normal that one's nervious about meeting your employers expectations!
(As a personal experience, after you've been working for some years and nothing has improved you feel you won't gain anything more for doing your job better and faster. You may call that an encouragementless job.)

I hope your employer recognizes your effort in the future so you can be promoted or have a better financial position in the company and your carreer doesn't get bogged down.

Good luck!

jo bs are dumb

im on food stamps

Is the subliminal message that jobs are bullshit? (jo bullshit)

Unless you win the powerball or sth you're doomed to have a job being an adult. At least, you can apply for jobs you really like.

As soon as my fixed-term contract finishes and I'm back from Japan in mid October I'm thinking about developing Android games. I'll look for a job then in the meantime but one that doesn't suck my whole life.

They say you must work to live, not live to work.

Isn't it the opposite right now? It's more live to work rather than work to live with the hours people have to put in.

Saying that, I'm not going to complain now. I need the money!

Last monthly reminder for Easter 2016 trip.

Pictures from my trip in May 2015

DWGbXd5.jpg

Easter 2016 (sometime in week 12-14)
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan

A few of us are planning a trip to Japan next year. Maybe you want to join us?

We'll be going sometime during easter since it's one of the best times to go weather-wise, there's sakura trees blooming and it's far enough off for people to save up some money.

Most likely going for close to 2 weeks. 1 week in Tokyo and then the rest in the Kansai (Kyoto/Osaka) region.

You need to co-ordinate with the others that are going and order the flight yourself. I will help out getting us an apartment, hostel and/or hotel for a cheap price. If we get a hostel room we will get a private room for our group, but with shared bathrooms and showers. Hotel or apartment will be a private room for our group with private bathroom and shower.

Estimated budget should be about $1300+flight cost if you want to only join us for the first week in Tokyo and about $2600+flight cost if you want to join in on the whole trip. This depends on what kind of accomodation we'll get.

You will need to confirm if you're going and order the flight by the start of September 2015.

It will be best if we do a group of max 4 people, so at the end of August I'll go through the list in order of who's shown interest and confirm if you're going or not. Feel free to show interest even if there's already 4 people on the list in case somebody else have to drop out by then.

Some of the things we could be checking out in Tokyo:
Ghibli museum
Akihabara + nearby Kanda shrine (from Love Live)
Nakano Broadway
Odaiba (which has the giant Gundam statue and other stuff)
Shibuya
Some of the most famous shrines and a park
Other things you want to check out

Some of the things we could be checking out in Kansai region:
K-On school building
Nipponbashi
Sakura viewing
Day trip to Nara
Day trip to Hiroshima
More temples and shrines
Other things you want to check out

October 2015 trip

We've also been planning a trip for October this year. We now got the dates and accomodation locked down. It's a Tokyo-only trip and we're arriving in Tokyo on October 7th and leaving Tokyo on the 15th. We're renting an apartment for this trip with a private bathroom/shower.

There is one free space left on this trip if anybody wants to join us!

The budget for this trip will be about $700 + flight cost. This includes all transportation, food and accomodation.

Sadly this is becoming more and more true.

This trend is stronger in undeveloped countries (like mine).

BTW, IIRC you studied something related to computer networking, isn't it?

If it's so, then I feel sorry for you since servers and networking area has a high work load, even more if it's something relating to support because they work in shifts and they often give you a cellphone to call you at any time.
