80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

Bumping for Tesla Boy for those who've never heard of them.

Tesla Boy EP
The first song on it already lets you know exactly the kind of music they're making.

They've got a full album out as well, but I haven't listened to it yet.

Great stuff.

This is what I get for not really going to OT much lately... missed this thread!

Anyways, I was in a genre competition on an electronic music message board where we had to create a mix with a theme... the theme was "sci-fi" and everyone gave their own interpretation of it. I decided to go with a retro-neo-cyberpunk theme with a lot of neo-synthwave music. Posted about it in our electronic music thread but didn't really get any biters, maybe some people here will enjoy it more:

Loving it so far, great music to play pinball by!

Don't think this has been mentioned yet:

I really like this Russian(?) Podcast called "Outrun 80's". I'm usually not into electronic music but this is pretty good.

Man, that is super nice. Kind of what I was expecting from Daft Punk's latest album, but across the whole thing rather than just being a track or two. Seems more raw (as Chromeo does so well) and laid back. Any idea when it's due to drop?
Agreed on the Daft Punk thing.

Chromeo's album is due out May 12th I believe, can't wait. The other two tracks they've put out from it are nice as well.

This thread's title doesn't have the word "Synthwave" but that's really the most accurate and all-encompassing term for the kind of music being posted and discussed here. That being said, that Wikipedia page did not exist until months after the thread was created.

I don't know whether this track fits exactly in this thread but I have to mention Harold Faltermeyer. He composed the soundtrack for "The Running Man" with Arnold Schwarzenegger (my favorite movie), which complements so well with the movie.

Main Title/Fight Escape

Sub-Zero

I'm happy that I discovered this thread today. I'll hear every song posted in the thread and I'll post more tracks tommorow.

synthwave and retrowave have become pretty standard terms for this stuff within a year :D

a little bump for the Spotify masterlist, has over 1500 tracks of Neudisco/Retrowave already:

Can't believe I'm a member here and didn't know this thread existed until now. I love me some 80's style synth music, but honestly, how could I not with a username like mine?
