80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

Damn I'm so sad I missed the Trilogy vinyls,it's a real bummer since I've been following the release quite closely.

If you like Carpenter Brut I suggest you subscribe to his music on bandcamp: for a very low yearly fee you get everything he produces plus some exclusive stuff.

Now let's wait for that Hotline 2 special edition to ship (feels like ages I've pre-ordered).

Oh shit, I can't hear it right now. Please, tell me it sounds good. I need me some new Perturbator right now.

This would effectively be my reaction as the preview escalates.

gotta go with "eh.." on this one :/ they did mention it's going to be more 90s than 80s. And Motorcycle Cop is the standout moment but that's already over a year old track too.

Yeah i do not know if i really like this..going from 80's to 90's eh it was the early haydays from Acid and Techno back then before it went big.

Highly disappointed with the new Power Glove. Sounds like a weird mish mash of techno and hip hop at times, and that's not my thing. It just doesn't sound good at all.

I'm going to get shit for this but at least Power Glove is doing something different, whereas Perturbator has been repeating himself for awhile.

I'm digging the new Power Glove, while it's not what I expected it's nice to have some variation inside this genre.

I've never really been a huge fan of Pertubator, but his stuff does sound the same lately.

Edit

Yeah....I'm not digging this anymore, Grip is the only good track and the rest are weird.

People who say Perturbator repeats himself need to listen to the Sexualizer EP and Night Driving Avenger. Sound nothing like his full length albums.

Also, he mixed up things a lot even in the albums, with the vocal tracks that sound majestic.

I actually really dislike Pertubator. I realise I'm in a minority but his stuff sounds completely amateurish to me.

Not exactly a good thing when the 'different' material has no personality whatsoever, and sounds BAD. I'm all up for experimentation. Hell, I love it, but experimentation doesn't mean squat when it sounds like ass.

Posting a track from Dangerous Days is not going to change my mind. That's the album that leads me to call him amateurish. The way the vocals are mixed on that track is the kind of thing I'm talking about.

I'll stop pissing you all off now :p

Got to say I'm loving this Power Glove EP but that's hardly surprising as I grew up on the dance music it's inspired by.

uhhh who is this and what have they done with powerglove!. this isn't them. damn. oh well i guess ill wait 2 more years until the next album comes out.

Sexualizer is indeed significantly different from the rest of his discography, and I agree about the vocal tracks.

It wasn't until Dangerous Days that I realized how specific elements from his music no longer felt as fresh, and that teaser for his next one did nothing to convince me that he's going to break out of his established formula.

Let's be very clear though, I still enjoy Perturbator's music. The main reason I singled him out is because he has probably been the most praised artist in this now two years old thread.

Btw let's not forget that he also produces music under two other aliases:

Jean-Yves Moustache
L'Enfant de la Foret
