80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

Thoughts on non paradisi anyone?
Liking it a lot more after listening to it loud in my car instead of through laptop speakers

Wasn't feeling the vocal tracks but they sounded much better with an actual sound system (not that I have anything special, but it's better than laptop lol). I really dig how he's made the bass sound almost like flopping strings, gives a cool effect to some of the slower stuff

Brut/GosT/Protector 101 was fantastic

Unfortunately GosT's gear fried during the first song so he ended up only playing 2 minutes....that was rough and the night seemed to be on the downward spiral

However! Carpenter Brut was so good! Stagedives constantly, ended up losing my Streets Of Rage hat at some point but some good Samaritans held onto it until the end of the show. Great success!

I felt sooo bad for GOST. I tried to see him on friday but the show time was pushed back an hour. me and friend bailed on the whole show since.

I thought protector 101 was shit since he pretty much just imac'd it. Brut was fucking fantastic though. I got my Non-Paradisi vinyl signed.

The way brut closes a show is spectacular.

I hate ya'll close enough to a place where there's shows.
Closest place Brut performed was already a country away :(

Yeah... pretty much. Music was fine but the dancing/hyping while your music plays isn't my cup of tea. Haha

GOST started and my friend and I were like "dude this makes the last dude sound like shit" and then it ended a minute later. Ugh. I'm going to MDF so I'll catch him there but I'm also really nervous for how that crowd takes to him. I feel like they'd be more accepting of Brut since it's an actual band. There's a ton of crossover for fans of metal and this kind of synth stuff but it's still a DJ set at an "underground" black/death metal fest haha

Just want to majorly thank this thread. It's made my gym time more enjoyable and my creative writing sessions more productive. Love the contributions in here. Thank you, everyone. 👌👌

Ahaha. This venue was a 20 minute walk from my house. This week was crazy for synthy jams in chicago.

Did you see the guy in the Pepe mask? that guy headbutted the gost drive that went hard enough he started bleeding... some fans are just, i dont know.

Ahahaha jesus. No I didn't see that. I actually don't remember someone in a Pepe mask (the dumb meme frog right?). I know there was at least a couple of people with masks that were stagediving

Man... Non Paradisi is the biggest disappointment for me since Power Glove's EPII. This is just horrible to me, I don't like anything about any song. :(

That's surprising. It's definitely more John Carpenter than Perturbator this time around but it's not that drastic of a departure from Behemoth. Maybe check out the bonus EP? That stuff seemed more in line with the older material

I'll have to wait until I receive the vinyl but I gave the whole listen whilst I was on holiday and not the greatest of headphones. I ended up with a headache but I think the music lends itself better to an actual HiFi set up.

There were one or two tracks where I honestly thought this was 'lazy' filler. Some I thought were quite interesting. I look forward to the bonus ep.

I really don't think the album is for everyone and could be a bit Marmite.

Non Paradisi isn't as hard hitting and fast as Behemoth or some of the EPs, but it's still a damn good record to get lost into while thinking of satanpunk dystopias.

How small is that venue? Stage seems tiny :D Even in this small backyard of Finland we have triplescreens and 800 people

the Double Door holds maybe 300-400 hundred people i was 2 people from the stage though.

Saw Magic Sword last night and they put on a pretty good show. Talked with one of the two guys for awhile. there was maybe 40 people in all at the show and it went until 1215 and i had to wake up at 5. After they played in the face of evil and sword of truth i bounced.

Carpenter Brut in SF was definitely one of the funnest shows I've been to in a while. Great experience with a live band. GoST performed there last year in the smaller venue upstairs and maybe less then 100 people showed up.

Got my Gost - Non Paradisi albums yesterday. Took less than a week to get since release.
• Black vinyl 3x LP limited edition box
• Black vinyl 2x LP regular edition
• 2x CD limited edition w/ bonus EP
• CD regular edition

Loving this album more and more.

Wish I had as much disposable income to buy same stuff multiple times for full price. Wouldn't be buying stuff multiple times, but would like to have that much money. Are you going to be listening all of them or what's the reasoning behind this?

My clear copy of the deluxe set hasn't arrived yet. I guess Blood Music didn't have time to send it before taking the short sick-leave he is currently on. :(

My Gost came in the mail yesterday too, just got the 2xLP red version of each album, hopefully will get to listen to them on Saturday morning.

No, the style is most definitely still GosT, but I'm just not feeling any of the compositions. The familiar parts feel like Behemoth but less inspired, and I wasn't feeling any of the vocal melodies at all... That's just off the top of my head, I was so disappointed by the first few listens that I haven't gone back to it yet.

As far as that hard style goes, I was much more into the Hollywood Burns EP posted in here a while back.

new GosT doesn't grab me as much as previous efforts, but still good to listen to occasionally.

NightStop - Streetwalker has got me by the balls so hard.

I keep hoping Portland/Seattle will get to see some good shows next year.
Dead Astronauts are based in Seattle so it would make sense for Perturbator or GosT to preform with them.

Buddy, I live in the same town as Power Glove and they still haven't played live.

Raydar - Neon Graffiti

This album just came out a few days ago. Reminds me a lot of Justice in places, though personally I find the glitch thing a little too abrasive. Thought I'd share it here though.

Give the new Sung a whirl:

And here's some smooth nudisco i randomly found in a record shop in paris on vinyl, the artist name alone was interesting :D

Yeah, this 70's synthfunk soundtrack looking cover art hides a true modern synthwave masterpiece inside :D

Yeah, guess the only way to see any love is to be in France or Russia. Seems to be the only country's they play regularly.
