A Compilation of Hilarious Animations in Mass Effect Andromeda

I understand that you're arguing in good faith, but I am genuinely astonished that you can look at PeeBee and find her ugly. To me, this suggests that your expectations of attractiveness are anchored at individuals who are one or more standard deviations above the population mean.

For example, do a Google Images search for "ugly real people". Skip over the phototshops and costumes. Do most of these people look easily comparable to PeeBee? Be honest.

I have no doubt that Tali's character added to her appeal. But have another look. She has a classic hour-glass figure and an ideal BMI. Her face is hidden, allowing people to imagine whatever they like. Thus, the affection for her in the fanbase is not all that surprising.

I live Kent, in England. I see hideously ugly people on a daily basis, and yes, even by the troll like standards of the average Kentish yokel, Peebee is fuck ugly, even ignoring the uncanny valley effect of the eyes, plastic skin texture and robotic animation. Her squat, square face, masculine jaw, oversized nose, over large mouth with poorly defined lips, over prominent brow, small eyes and low, small cheekbones are all ugly facial features.

And Tali is actually exaggerated beyond normal human proportions, designed to have overly wide hips and narrow shoulders that take her well beyond what's considered ideal on the BMI index (which in itself not in anyway a good measure of what is and isn't typically attractive). Regardless, yes, that Tali has an attractively designed but still well outside the norm torso and physique, and is able to appear attractive without a face, is a stark contrast to the gallery of ugoes in Andromeda.

There's a difference between the story being a slow start and the game not being fun. A slow start and poor animations aren't going to make the game less fun.

How about if things like this keep happening?

From what we are seeing, the game is riddled with stuff like this.

This thread is massive and I can't see if this idea was ever posited, but I think aside from the obvious glitches, you guys are being entirely too hard on them. Not everyone's supposed to run like a small, evenly-framed Final Fantasy character. I'm pretty sure I've seen guys in the military run like in some of these commonly posted gifs and whatnot.

I dont think this thread exists without the great work that already exists with ME1-3. If this is a game without a history like that, it's a different reaction entirely. So far it seems like Bioware/EA really dropped the ball on this one.

Then they must have been trained at one hell of a weird boot camp:

PDP's video has already been viewed over two million times lol

I'd sure like to be a fly on the wall at Bioware Edmonton.

I'm sure the folks there worked very hard on this, but it's crazy that even one person at that studio saw these animations and said "DONE"

We knew development was having troubles. Key people leaving, two E3 shows without any footage. BioWare Edmonton being brought on to help out, almost 5+ years of development. The producers and higher ups are promising the more you play the more you will enjoy, but it seems like they made a Mass Effect 1 copy rather than a sequel in the sense that people really hate the redundant planet and satellite travel, scanning, etc.

I think MP will be a blast to play like ME3 MP was. These server issues should be fixed by actual launch, but it is simple why the game is like this. BioWare Montreal is not the level of studio that Edmonton is. There is a reason why Rockstar and Naughty Dog and Bungie make solid games etc. Plus the use of Frostbite3 for their first time etc. Remember though they are one of the first devs that actually switched around and gave free dlc to fix the ending of one of their games etc. They are probably heavily into a patch that will improve some of the wonkiness for sure.

Lets be honest, It's PDP, it was going to get huge numbers regardless.

That being said last person you want adding to the dog pile is the worlds #1 youtuber.

There's some great footage here

Oh wow, this bug is so bad it's actually spoiling later story bits. Two different time slices of the infirmary are happening at the same time. Sarah Ryder is inside the damaged crying pod and also in a hospital bed.
It also spoils
dad Ryder's death.

Actually, it's even more than two time slices. There's the "no gravity" stuff in there as well. I don't even know how this happens.

I haven't really followed this game at all. What's with the characters? They look all cartoony and plastic action figure-like (especially the hair). Honestly it seems like a huge step back from the realistic look of the original trilogy.

Almost 500k views of this thread, damn.

Can't remember such negativity (deserved or not) for a high profile AAA title like this since... Dragon Age 2? The Order 1886 was also destroyed but no one expected it to be good anyway.

I never found this dude funny until now

True, all those E3 no shows were pretty suspect, even at the time.

Now, it makes even more sense.

Hell, I really enjoyed The Order. It's too short and needed more direct gameplay, but it looks stunning, has great characters and is well made.

I wonder if this is why they didn't really market this game until recently. It's basically Elder Scrolls/Bethesda level of jank.

Overall, the only thing I'm not liking are the eyes.

I think the game actually looks much better with CA and film grain turned on.

Played a bit more. Just landed on Eos. Quality is so up and down. Still enjoying it overall. Curious to poke around Eos.

I actually never had one glitch while playing Assassin's Creed Unity. I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, there was a decent game underneath all the technical issues.

ME seems to be relying on that more than ever now.

The game has already become a viral internet meme before it has even released. This is probably the worst case I have seen of it. At least that I can recall.

Unity was pretty bad for going viral, which is why I brought it up.

Maybe it will get a pass because it is Mass Effect.

I really don't know why EA put out the trial. I was so excited for this game and the trial actually convinced me not to buy it. I'm sure it will get great sales, but it's sad to see the streak of great video games come to a startling end like this. Mass Effect fans deserve better.

Probably a case of the left hand (marketing) not knowing what the right hand (development) is doing. Although the trial did help them get 5 dollars out of me. I wonder how many people signed up for EA Access simply because they got to play the brand new Mass Effect game.

Oh god, you went too fast Ryder!

Wow. So casual misogyny in gaming is at the point where THIS:

is a fuck ugly troll. Incredible.

Oh, but I forgot, games are meant to cater exclusively to straight male gamers. Silly me.

Damn the PewdiePie video is close to 2.5 million views. How can Bioware recover from that ?

To be fair, it might make more people buy the game just to laugh at it.

Is this a manipulated PC footage of this game? Please tell me it is. Because the amount of grade one bugs and jankiness in those 6 minutes is larger than in the whole game of Two Worlds.

HOLY SHIT how did it pass QA?!?

In the description it says they started a new game, this wasn't their first playthrough, and so some state must be persisting from old game to new.

Wait it's not only PewDiePie... YouTube is overflowing from negative ME4 videos pointing all this crap in serious or funny manner.

Example:

(almost 500k views)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CPYw5uxER4
(200k views)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=celQWazUUMg
(another 200k)

etc.

This goes into email inbox of all those milions subscribers to those channells.

EA lost control of the marketed product vision even before it has been released.

Wow. They cannot be happy.

I can almost guarantee that Peebee is better looking that you smh Post a pic of yourself with today's local Kent newspaper as proof. If you aren't the hottest person alive get the f out of here with this shit

That is so weird. Everything is happening at once in the infirmary. How does an old save state bleed over into a new game?

Can we stop with the "SJW vs GG" slap fights here? It's ruining the sweet, sweet schadenfreude.

I'm sure there's a ton of threads for that already

True, but this is mainly thanks to EA putting up the vault thing is it not? Usually, something like that gets done when they're incredibly confident lol.

Yeah, it's an oddball for sure. I never would have dreamed that we would be seeing so many problems from such a high profile title like Mass Effect. I mean, you don't even see this much wrong in a Reality Pump game.

this shit never fails to make me laugh

Evil Shephard dancing is good too, even if it's not actually a glitch

It's a bit cringe when some of the animations in ME 1 look marginally better. Like, all games of this size have jank and bugs, but so much coming out at once is just... EA, wut? I would have kept this far away from EA vault lol. Unless they promised to do it earlier and couldn't backtrack.

I wonder if EA just shipped it to get it over with and Star Wars is their focus now going forward for an RPG. Would be a shame.

Jeez, that's a lot of bugs.

The game was delayed at least once, maybe twice. They are releasing it now because it has been 5 years in the oven and they want it out before the end of the FY (something similar happened with DA2's release, but that had a dev period of like 13 months, not 5 years). They want it out because they can't put more money into it without seeing anything back.
