As I said, my actual problem is in understanding how people see "putting up with shit" as a standard now. I don't care so much for OPs case. It just surprised me how much people will bow down, just to get a job. It's like a disease, that companies think they are something better than their workforce, which brings in the skill, knowledge and money. It's should be a fair trade. People should respect each other, and if either the employer or employee are late, it shouldn't be that much of a deal, but handled with enough respect. So just to use OPs case as an example, it is not and it shouldn't be normal to let somebody wait 45 minutes without saying anything. That's not just a bit rude, but showing how much respect that person has for you - 0% in this case. Comments like "Don't wanna wait an hour? Then you don't deserve the job." make me wanna puke.
Honestly, it's sad that we came to a point were people need to beg for a job to pay their bills, but I can't really support this behavior at all. So whatever the OPs track record is, I don't care, but I'm all for how he handled the situation. Fuck people who think their job offer is better than the human being applying for it.
