Do I win a prize for talking about my penis on the Internet???
It's a sad story all around, people mocking a guy killing himself is just as sad.

How does it not make sense? He very clearly did save the state money and resources.

Because after a suicide in a prison they just dump the body outside and everyone moves on with their lives right

Yes. Cold blooded murderers are a huge burden to society. For his relatives/friends the knowledge that he lives and might get out one day is a daily source of dread. For the state it's very expensive to keep him locked up and secure.

I don't approve of the death penalty, but this was his own decision and it was the right one.

And that's so disgustingly arrogant of you to try to talk about how his loved ones might be feeling

Conviction or not he certainly killed more than 1 person. Who shoots a car full of people during their recruiting trip to college? A damn serial killer is who does that. Dude had bodies on him before he was out of highschool. No doubt about it.

I also believe he probably killed more than one. I definitely don't think he did the double murder because that always looked like it was Bradley who committed the murders from the start.

If you watch any of the trial, you could see that Hernandez had serious doubts about himself and just about people taking himself seriously. Dude was super paranoid and just insanely fragile. He couldn't stand not being respected by everone around him.

Still, very unfortunate for his fiance and his four year old daughter.

A funeral is cheap compared to housing someone for the rest of their lives. He was young, so the expenses would have added up pretty quickly. Probably would have had another 40-60 years.

Death penalty is untenable/more expensive than life because of the appeals process and the fact it is too frequently applied to innocent people. But that's not the situation here.

From what I heard the family wanted him free, especially his daughter.

I read somewhere that the jail he was in was close enough to the stadium where the Patriots play you could hear it. I don't feel any sympathy for the guy, but as someone who played football in high school I wouldn't rule out CTE or brain damage. Tragic life for sure, but he seemed to be an unrepentant murderer so I would rather see resources placed towards more deserving people. Probably a fitting end.

Death is a really weird thing to cherish.

And he only killed one person btw, he just won the double murder case.

This guy had shitty street dudes around him growing up. No one that cared enough for his talent to say "Shorty go home, we about to get shootin", like the Queensbridge OGs did for Nas.

His life wasn't a god damn tragedy. He rode his talent to allow people to literally let him get away with everything but murder (Urban at Florida, the Pats organization) because he was fast and could catch a ball.

He killed three people and maimed two more.

Fuck him.

Hope he burns.

This guy could of been a shining example to kids that dream to make it one day, whatever that may be. He could of been something good in this world, by showing that you do not have to be slinging and hustling to make it. A real role model in this already difficult world, by making a positive difference for the better.

There's no shortage of players who came from nothing and made a life for themselves through sports. Hernandez would be low on the list of people to point considering all his problems in college as well.

All the big four leagues except Hockey are literally filled with guys who did just that.

Hernandez wanted to be street and his street goons didn't tell him to go home and not be involved when they were killing folks. He picked up the gun, and he killed Odin Lloyd, the person we should be feeling empathy and sympathy for, in cold blood cause he was going to rat him for the double murder.

He doesn't deserve sympathy cause he had a hard life early on.

Brother had a choice and he chose to kill three people.

Apparently since he was appealing the murder charge of the Odin Lloyd case, he didn't die a convicted murderer.

This is just an insane story.

It's never "sad" or "tragic" when someone who killed three people topped himself because he couldn't live with the consequences of his actions.

Him having talent doesn't make it a tragedy that he chose to kill people instead of use that talent, it just makes him an idiot and a sociopath.

I doubt the families of the people he killed and maimed think his life was tragic.

It's not the talent, it's what he could have done. He could have done work to build up his community, given to charity, etc. People like him have the opportunity to change the world for the better if they so choose. I don't feel bad for the dude but it's just a shame that he took this path.

And the cycle repeats. Hernandez lost his father and his life was never the same. His daughter loses her father and her life will never be the same. Maybe that's for the best in this case though. Maybe he didn't want her to grow up with a murderer for a dad.

This will be a weight on her shoulders for the rest of her life. She's gonna need a therapist.

I don't know what he was going through mentally, but it's a shame he couldn't hang on to be there for his daughter. Yeah, he wouldn't be able to see her day to day or raise her but he could still visit with her, write to her, and be there for her emotionally while still in prison. That would have been enough to keep me going. If I didn't have a kid though, yeah...I would have done exactly what he did.

Too many people aren't understanding this.

Waste of a life. Could've easily used his fame and skill to a be a positive force for people but chose to be the opposite. Don't think he ever showed regret or sympathy right? So no sympathy from me.

Dude used to be a main reason as to why fans celebrated, whether it be his TD celebrations or a great catch. He also leaves behind a family. I don't think its wrong to feel sad. I have no sympathy for him but it's definitely sad that dude decided to take his life instead of maybe turning his life around in prison.

Hernandez was 16 years old when his father died.

This isn't a vicious cycle of violence on the streets his dad died from a fucking viral infection from a surgery wound.

His daughter won't grow up without means and in an environment full of drugs and poverty. With him alive or dead, she was never going to have much of a relationship with him ever to begin with. He could never be an active parent.

This is asinine.

This thread is a lil....

Dude is a murderer, I can't feel sorry for him. His fam and his victims fam deserve are the only ones to feel sorry for.

Awesome, he won't waste money being locked up in prison, his victims can get some closure, and best of all a murdering bastard can't murder anyone else. Seems a win all around.

I'd even call it a win for his own family. They can just accept that he is gone and move on rather than deal with him being locked up for life and have to mess with that hassle. His fiancé can find a good man to raise their daughter right.

Losing a father is still tough, despite who Hernandez was. The daughter may live a better life but that's gonna take years of mental and emotional repairs to get to that point.

He still grew up without a parent and now so will she. Your right, it isn't a vicious cycle, yet both of them end up with only one parent. It's still an issue nonetheless.
