No matter how good it looks, you still have to play an Assassins Creed game.
Don't skip your medicines papi

It's legit Next gen.
Minus the facial animations
I respect my time far too much to play yet another Ubisoft copy-paste open world game. Hell, they gave me Valhalla for free and I don't even think I ever installed that shit.
Fabulous work on this. Screenshots just don't do this game justice.
I'm at work dipshit.
Facial animations in Valhalla look so much worse (and the cinematic direction as well) so the ones we've in Shadows are a notable improvement on that.Completely agree. Everything outside of the facial animation is top tier, but the facial animation looks like a last gen game.
Ironically, you are calling me dipshit, which means that the person is inept or incompetent and its funny that you say this while you are at work, showing your incompetence as an worker because you are not working but scrolling online
I don't tell you how to operate a fryer, don't worry about me putting rovers on Mars or docking ships to ISS. My portion of our space plane has been done for months.
Better but not as much as you would expect for a 7 years newer game.Is it better than Red Dead 2? Seems like its the benchmark touted by most people.
It's a good game. Great even so far. Will probably end up being too big but I am having a lot of fun so far 15h in. So the game earned itself already. No matter how good it looks, you still have to play an Assassins Creed game.
your opinion.Chromatic Aberration ON = invalid opinion
100%Also, youtube compression destroys it. When it's running natively in front of you maxxed out.....Jeezus wept!
it's very good!Too bad it's not that good.
It's a good looking game but nothing which blows away what I've personally observed. The sense of scale is the most impressive aspect about these shots. Reminds me of RDR2 in this regard.More ultrawide/everything maxed out/DLAA and this time without crappy compression

Yes, the non mocap scenes are incredible badMinus the facial animations
Pretty sure i didnt buy a 5090 to watch lesbians wrestle but okay.
Its still insanely impressive now. I love to just boot it up on pc from time to time and wander around(and pick fights with locals)RDR2 felt a lot more impressive back when it released.
I put in 10 hours, tried enjoy but couldnt. I loved ac back when they started, played every game at launch, but now I havent beaten anyone since origins because of all useless bloat and rpg mechanics.it's very good!
I bet you think sushima has better graphics lmaoShame you can't play graphics and are still stuck with ass swordplay, repetitive gameplay and boring story.
Edit: graphics are ok, nothing mindblowing btw.
This cutscene that played out in front of me was my last straw. I just couldnt believe this is what i was playing

Facial animations, the framing, also no character movement, they are like ragdolls, poor vfx and lighting making characters look like early ps3 cutscene. If you looked at this and thought"yeah, this is fine for 2025 300mil game", then I have no further words. What's wrong with this cutscene ?
eh, there are also a lot of assets in there that don`t exactly scream "current gen". But I guess that is more a budget/manhour limitation than anything else in an open world game.Completely agree. Everything outside of the facial animation is top tier, but the facial animation looks like a last gen game.
Doom Eternal impressed you despite looking worse than old crysis 2 (+MaldoHD mod), yet Assassins Creed Shadows does not despite looking like a game built for modern high end GPUs.It's a good looking game but nothing which blows away what I've personally observed. The sense of scale is the most impressive aspect about these shots. Reminds me of RDR2 in this regard.
Exactly. Played Unity just 1.5 months ago again, so believe me that the game really had beautiful graphics, especially for its time. But draw distance is so atrocious that it is literally near non existent. All those beautiful Paris sights getting in the mud.Unity's pop-in alone should disqualify it from any graphics race.
Damn, tesselation in crysis 2 was my jam back in the day, couldn't get enough of that!Doom Eternal impressed you despite looking worse than old crysis 2 (+MaldoHD mod), yet Assassins Creed Shadows does not despite looking like a game built for modern high end GPUs.
AC:S has big open world map, dynamic seasons / weather, use dynamic GI for lighting and nanite like technology to push insane amount of detail all the way to the horizon, but all that is not good enough to be impressed.
One of the best looking games according to you:

Old Crysis 2 + MaldoHD (and crysis 2 remastered looks even better).

The frame rate sucks in this but you get the idea
Ftfy.Because of things like this I stopped playing on PC, the damn obsession with graphics, settings, frames, etc. I went back to consoles to worry only about playing and having less fun.
That's just... any game on pc.
you were so overwhelmed by options you were always free to ignore that you decided to take those evil evil options away from you.....Because of things like this I stopped playing on PC, the damn obsession with graphics, settings, frames, etc. I went back to consoles to worry only about playing and having fun.
RDR2 has beautiful scenery and amazing art direction, but assets and lighting looks dated by todays standard. Assassins Creed Shadow also had beautiful scenery, but use much higher quality assets and RT.Is it better than Red Dead 2? Seems like its the benchmark touted by most people.
