Hard to extrapolate card pricing but 5090 has to be at least 2k. 32gb vram has me drooling but I simply can’t spend that much on just a gpu lol. 16gb on the 5080 again also feels chintzy. The gap between these 2 cards in performance and presumably price must be massive!

Top end was range was like 350 - 600 back in the 8800 era. You had 3 top end cards GTS, GTX and ultra.
A "60" series midrange card, the 8600gt was had for 150 at launch.
Entry level 8400 - $50, 8500 -100.

There was a good price for anyone and it was affordable. It was in line with inflation as you consider back in 2000 a voodoo 5 5500 pci/agp was $399 top of the line.
Geforce 2 GTS was 329 and ultra 450. The first geforce card 256 was $199.

Prices have gone from bad to worse sine the 2xxx series. and Leather jacket man's stock portfolio and number of houses skyrocketed.
You can blame bitcoin miners for all of this shit.
