Thats why the xx70 ans xx60 series card exists for the sensible spender. Personally gonna build my pc with the 5070 card. Im gonna budget myself to 2 -2.5× the price of the ps5 pro and game at 1440p because thats my sweet spot for iq.
Luxury brands exist for all sorts of things from watches, clothes, to cars; make sense gaming has a luxury tier as well.

Definitly. But there's a huge difference between luxury brands for watches, clothes and most other stuff compared to gaming tech.
You could get at least five 4090's for a decent Rolex.
Or at least three 4090's for a carrying bag by some italian snob
The highest end of gaming is a lot more realistic for folks who are not made of money, compared to high end products in many other stuff. Which is cool!
(Doesn't mean I don't wish prices would be lower, of course)
Calm down. Long story short, the Otto.de prices indicate the following prices:
5080: $1200 (or $1000)
5090: $2200 (or $2000)
I.e. The 5080-computer has the same list price (3500€) as the current (non-Super) 4080-computer. Indicating that the 5080 will have the same price as 4080 ($1200) or 4080 Super ($1000).
List price for an otherwise same spec computer with 5090 is 4700€. Meaning the 5090 will cost 1200€ more than 5080. Remove sales tax and convert to $ and you get $1000.
The 4080 stomped all over the 3090 ti. People didn't like the price but the performance was there and it still didn't sell. The 5080 might not be anywhere near as good as the 4090. This could be the dud of the linup along with the 60 class and their 8 gbs of memory.

Specs would suggest it being less powerful, unless they have some crazy high clocks (it's possible). It wouldn't exactly be a precedent, 2080 was worse in many games than 1080ti in 2018 (it started to win later when devs stopped optimizing for Pascal).
