Advance Wars: Under Fire to use the Nintendo microphone?

A few days ago, Nintendo announced that Mario Party 6 would use a microphone, a completely new peripheral for the Nintendo GameCube to plug into a memory-card slot.

We can tell you today that this microphone will also be compatible with another Nintendo game : Advance Wars : Under Fire. This strategy game based on two famous GBA top-sellers Advance Wars 1 and 2 is developped by Kuju and will be published in 2005 by Nintendo.

How can the microphone be used ? We should use it to launch missiles to the ennemy, or give information to your troups in a nicer way than using a classic gamepad. More information as soon as they're available on www.p-nintendo.com !

I finally saw that game in motion on G4 the other day. It actually looks pretty badass. I wouldn't mind using the mic to issue commands to my troops. That might work out pretty well for a NDS game too.

bah, i don't want to get a microphone just for one game, i never liked Mario Party all that much...

and all i can think of that the mic can be used in Advance Wars would be to give orders, and i still don't trust voice recognition in games at all... =/

this alternate input thing can suck sometimes.

Eh, what's that I hear? Wha? Oh. IT'S BITCHING!

It's a RTS, right? Wouldn't you would lose time fiddling with the microphone?

I imagine the button on the mic is so that it isn't always active, so I can't see a game where you need to grab a microphone to issue orders being fun. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if it were bound to the controller like the Dreamcast or Xbox.

It's more of an action game with management than an RTS.
