Loved that episode, they need to concentrate more on Marvel lore and characters like they did there as it makes for a much more interesting show and that was one of my favourite episodes yet. Nice little hints at the possibilities for Thor 3 as well.
Think I'm in love with the actress that played Lorelei.
Seeing non-warrior Asgardians display that kind of strength makes me want to see the Hulk tear shit up in Asgard. Lets see what they think of puny Humans after that.
I'm really glad they didn't shy away from the sorcery angle with Lorelei. That shouldn't be explained by advanced science or anything, similar to Loki's illusions.

My one problem with the episode? Isn't it kind of a bad fucking tactical decision to have one male agent go to the back of the building to stop Lorelai?
Why the fuck wouldn't they bring May along instead?
How the fuck is Ward one of their best agents? Sif just explained to you that if the voice fails her touch will finish you off. What do you do? You let her walk up to you and touch you. You fucking idiot.
That was my main issue with the episode. The minute he saw her, why didn't he shoot. and since he was briefed on her powers and how they work, why did he let her get in close enough to touch him? They could have wrote it better, such as she used magic to deflect the shot from the nite nite gun ICER. and then Ward backed up quickly when she approached him, pinning his back was to a wall, not allowing him to avoid her touch.
would have looked much better.
Oddly, there's still no confirmed air date for the next episode.
E16 is titled "End of the Beginning" and will feature
the return of nearly all the recurring SHIELD characters who've appeared thus far (Hand, Blake, Sitwell, Garrett)
, so I'm guessing that it's the last episode to take place before whatever change in the series' status quo results from the events of TWS. Which would fit with an April 1 air date, but we'll see.
In any case, out of the seven episodes remaining, at least four or five will have to be set post-TWS, so I'm curious how the series handles what might be a major shakeup well before the end of the season.
Next season they don't have any movies to schedule around and tie into, so they should have a more uninterrupted run. And if it is as serialized and entertaining as these last 3 episodes, then I also hope they get another full 22/23 episode run too.
Except that Sif specifically mentions Lorelai's combat skills. Anyway, the fight was fine (for TV), the problem was the actress was so weak she could barely lift the sword prop. 'Bout time Hollywood starts hiring girls from Crossfit gyms instead of bulimia group therapy sessions.
One of the best episodes till now. Lorelei was great so I hope
The Odin that sent Sif was indeed Loki. That would mean her return in Thor 3!
Other than that, some nice battle scenes along with Kree and Ice Giant reference. And the May reveal at the end was nice too. I think I start to detest her a lot now...And I hope Coulson will get some answers kn the next episode.
BTW, is it me or are they hyping a Nick Fury episode? I mean they made it clear that Fury has all the answers. A Samuel Jackson appearance again would be really cool. Damn those breaks...

They need to be going somewhere with it. I don't see the point in making Fury the main antagonist for Coulson unless he is going to get another major appearance on the show. No post-credits stinger BS.
That wig in Magic City is so off putting. The adventures of Simmons were pretty good this week. It's nice to know she stands for aomething greater than herself as a scientist.

Sam Jackson has said numerous times he is down to be all over the show.
But then again, he isn't picky and just loves to work. He also really loves being Fury, so if they wanted him to do the show for an episode or two, I'm sure he would work it into his busy schedule.
Yep. Ward literally knocked the dust off that.
Better hope she doesn't pop up with a baby next season, although I image her eggs are petrified at this point. lol
Quick question: I haven't seen Thor 2 yet (watching the Blu ray at the weekend) are there any spoilers for it in this weeks episode? I cant imagine Lady Sif would be in it without mentioning the events of the film.

iirc SHIELD typically does well in the L+3 (Live plus 3 days) ratings which holds more weight than it has previously. I mean live viewers are still more valuable but DVR numbers are taken into account as well.
I actually enjoyed this episode. Other then the stupid way Ward was taken over. He should have fired his gun as soon as he saw her, unloaded the entire clip, and then tried his best to keep his distance even if he had to run. It looks like her voice isn't affecting him. Points in his favor. However he just stupidly stands there. That scene would have been far more believable and acceptable had she used her speed to close the distance as he tried to back away after seeing that she needed to touch him to gain control over him.

They should have done an AoS recap episode for all those that dropped out early on to catch up without having to sit through it all. The first 10 episodes were hard to sit through a 2nd time, so I can only imagine what it's like for someone not as into Marvel as some of us.

OKAY, so I haven't kept up with this show, only saw the first two and really liked them but then I stopped for lack of time reasons. Is it worth catching up? Has the show improved / stayed the same / gotten worse? Perusing around the thread it seems like most of you seem to like it.
It's starting to feel like one of two things:
1. Weird internal ABC politics where someone who doesn't like the show is screwing up the scheduling
2. They're being super weird about the timing because at some point Winter Soldier comes along and changes things radically for SHIELD, and they're tiptoeing around the movie.

I'm really not too worried about ratings or how ABC is fucking up the schedule for this show. Marvel has a pretty good relationship with Netflix (who already took on 4 Marvel shows) and Netflix is known for reviving series. If AoS every gets cancelled from ABC, I wouldn't be surprised to see Netflix pick it up. And even if that doesn't happen, I could really see them covering everything they need to cover in one season. But I'd like to see it keep going. This last episode was really good, and I have an idea of where I think the show is going, so I'm excited about it.
ABC was up week to week, with Marvels Agents of SHIELD (second-place 2.0/7 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) taking advantage of a repeat NCIS to rise 11% (and perhaps 17% in the nationals with an expected uptick to 2.1).
Probably Skye... but it'd be interesting if it was someone totally else. It'd be a way to dig into his past. (Would be really interesting if it were someone who works for the "wrong" side.)
One thing I liked was Coulson asking Sif about why she didn't kill Lorelei (her duty came before her feelings), which makes you think about Coulson's allegiance to SHIELD (the code, the secrets). Glad they revisited the whole "going rogue" bit at the end.
May is likely spying for Fury.
I thought Sitwell would have a bigger role in this episode.

The dialogue has him specifically say "someone on his team." Earlier episodes also harped on him previously being a lone agent in the field also, so they'd have to write in some kind of "well I was on a team once before even though I never said anything and X turned out to be a double agent" story for him to have a bad guy love interest.
