May is likely spying for Fury.
I think May is spying for her SHIELD superiors. Fury is conspicuously absent.

Victoria Hand maybe? I got a "power struggle" vibe when she clashed with Coulson.
It would be easier to get her to appear than Fury.

I think May is spying for Hydra, which will lead to her departure and replaced with someone likeable (Carol Danvers?!).
And by "I think" I mean "I hope".
He didn't realize it was Lorelai. They didn't communicate that well in the dialogue. How the fuck is Ward one of their best agents? Sif just explained to you that if the voice fails her touch will finish you off. What do you do? You let her walk up to you and touch you. You fucking idiot.

Are the events of Winter Soldier happening right now? That's why Fury's MIA?
The whole thing was badly written - sending ANY male agents on that mission was utterly insane. How stupid is he? On that particular mission, he should have been wary of *any* unidentified female.

Yeah I don't know how that made it past the script supervisor. The whole thing was badly written - sending ANY male agents on that mission was utterly insane.

A risk they had to take considering any military-esque organization is likely to be heavily dominated by males in field combat positions.
The goal was for the team to subdue anyone that Lorelai had control of while Lady Sif took on Lorelai herself. The stupid stuff was really only that they sent Ward out of line of sight of the rest of the team without May accompanying him and that he didn't immediately fire the ICER at any woman at the scene. I mean, they're non-lethal anyways.

Of course. Because ABC actually has smart scheduling for shows like Grey's and Scandal. This just means Loeb isn't as good at negotiating as Shonda.

We're definitely starting to see heavy retooling on the show, I think. It'll probably continue past the end of this season. With the way they have apparently ended the Agent Ward and Agent May fling, and revealed that she has been spying on Coulson et all, I'm that hoping they are prepping her exit from the show.
I mean, dont get me wrong, she might be a wonderful person, but we are, what, 15 episodes in, and her character has been stuck doing the same exact thign with the same exact cliche ice queen tough chick thing for the entire series. In fact the development we did get out of her (pranking, learning about her past, sleeping with Ward) hasn't amounted to anything of substance, if anything her character has become even more 2 dimensional.
Skye, Fitz, Simmons, and even Ward, are all dynamic characters (especially Fitz, whenever he gets to do anything outside of his usual techno babel, it seems to entertain), and I can not help but feel that the show would be more interesting without May stoic-ing up the joint whenever she is on screen. Coulson does more than enough of that already.
Also, lets get Skye some powers already. Alien Blood, 084, what have you.
I do wonder why Ward didn't pull out his phone and take a picture of Tahiti, seems like something anyone would have done in the modern age. It would have made asking Syf a whole lot easier.
Its interesting that this episode touched on Lady Syf liking Thor. Hopefully they continue on that with the next Thor film. portman doesn't even want to do them, and Syf has much better chemistry with Thor anyway.

"Oh, look. Stakes."I was actually shocked by the latest episode. It really felt as if somebody lit a fire under the showrunners' asses.
Barring Sif and Lorelei's super stiff fight and some iffy writing, the episode was surprisingly competent.
If they touch one single lock of Simmons I will riot.
You have my sword.
I now want a Sif and the Warriors Three series. Set in Asgard or any of the nine realms not on Earth.

Sucks I'm leaving for New Zealand next Tuesday and I'll be gone for three weeks.
You'll be missing an MCU special, AoS rerun and you'll just miss one actually new AoS episode. Not that bad.
As long as it's made by the guys who did Game of Thrones.
Or better yet, have Peter Jackson direct, but have someone like Whedon (not necessarily him) produce and write it having true respect for the comics.
The biggest problem SHIELD has with ABC is that ABC's programming strategy is exclusively female-oriented. Bachelor, Once Upon a Time, Shonda Rhimes - they don't do bro shows, and it makes this show a really bizarre fit on their network.
I just wanted to make it rhyme - doesn't have to be like COD Dudebro territory, and you can do a show like this that appeals to both genders- see: Buffy/Angel, but this show's always going to lead out into a show that doesn't quite vibe with it and that attracts a different demographic. Its probably an issue.Show doesn't have to be a bro show, though.
Yo.
