Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
That was an amazing finale, so many awesome moments.

Coulson is fantastic, its a shame he's not going to be in the Avengers 2 :(

What an awesome episode through and through.

But damn those new threads at the end of the ep, though. And I wonder what will happen with Ward? He can't just go out after this season, he's interesting now.

Life Model Decoys? Life Model Decoys.
Are there any silent Marvel mercenaries anti-hero?
Is Raina an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D original character?
Where is this Miracles / Inhumans thing going? Not character wise as in the characters, character wise as in the intellectual properties.

So wait, no more
Shield under Fury
in the movies, too? And no 'alternative story' for the whole deal in the movieverse?
Gotta admit, I didn't figure the show would have such an impact on movie Marvel, I'm impressed they pulled that off.

I was kind of hoping Ward would have some shred of regret and redemption
after seeing the man Garret became, so he would be willing to help stop him and still be willing to face punishment for his betrayal. But he went down like a bitch thanks to May and ended up right back where he started
.

Anyway, solid finale. Loved the banter between Fury, Coulson and Garret. I was expecting Garret to be back for revenge, but I loved the surprise of
seeing him blown up by Coulson.

Maybe in one of the after credit scene...But probably not.

Given Coulson's new importance, I would be surprised if he isn't in Avengers 2 in some capacity. Unless something happens to him in Agents of Shield season 2 that changes that role. I know Joss Whedon says he isn't in the current script, but that was nine months ago. I also doubt he would have said if he was in the script anyway.

Maybe SHIELD just doesn't have much involvement in Avengers 2. Samuel L Jackson is supposed to be appearing in just a cameo too.

Clark Gregg confirmed on his Twitter feed today that he's in Avengers 2.

EDIT - Err, at least I think he did..

What were the after credit scenes I missed them. Wait were they just the 2 Scenes with Goo man and Phil? That doesnt match what one of the previews said where "we should look for clues in the previous episodes"

yeah, I think that confirms he isn't in Avengers 2.

Solid B episode overall. Loved the Fitz and Simmons moments, they were the best part of the episode. I don't like the romance subplot though the characters would have been better off being a purely platonic. The May and Ward fight was really good probably the best fight scene in the season. Fury showing up once just at the right time was believable. Showing up twice and with a big gun, less so. No explanation or even tease about the blue guy was kind of lame. We might get something in the second season but an acknowledgement that they have something planned for it would have been nice. Tripp just vanishing in the second half was a waste. He wasn't even in the playground scene.

So what is their status now? They've failed to report to the US military and were labeled a terrorist group. But I find it hard to believe they just let them leave with a bunch of military grade equipment and secret tech.

My man Fitz is gonna get dat ass next season, y'all just wait.

A bit of viagra alien blood in his system and Simmons will be asking for it.

What if he's busy working on...the Defenders?

Fury has literally nothing to do with the Defenders. At all.

Defenders are such a loosely associated group that even the de facto leader, Doctor Strange, can't even really "assemble" them most of the time. They just kinda... show up because they're all coincidentally pissed about the same thing, usually.

Coulson walking around after waking up in the middle of the night, sees and touches that glass door that Garrett scratched those strange markings. Proceeds to a nearby wall and scratch in similar markings. All that, with eerie music playing. Anyone else get the odd feeling that he was slightly in a sleepwalking state. Like he wasn't entirely "there?"

I'm so damn glad they kept Ward as a bad guy. I was so afraid they are going to choose the obvious and cliche route and make Ward a good guy again.

Well SHIELD doesn't really exist at this point. We will see what happens in the next season of Agents of SHIELD and Peggy Carter.

He is just messing with fans. Don't expect a confirmation of anyone unless it is in a major role, a publicly filmed role, or just a lot closer to release. That being said, I can't imagine Coulson being absent from all the Phase 2 movies.

Edit: Nevermind, reread and I think he 100% confirmed that he will be in The Averages 2.

I had the feeling that Ward was about to say something that potentially would have lead him down the road to redemption. He was freaking out with whatever Garrett was turning into.

But then, he got a fist to the throat.

The "previous episodes" thing is probably referring to the fact that the thing Coulson was drawing was the thing that "Centipede" sent Akela Amedor to get a picture of way back in the fourth episode.

Remember, they had Ward (oops) take over the mission from her while they figured out a way to remove the false eye without killing her? And then he went into that room and the stuff was all over the chalkboard.

Dammit. I thought for sure being stuck on the bottom of the ocean was an invitation to debut Namor on the show.
Namor rights are still with Universal the last I heard.

So good. Coulson being the Director now is a great surprise. I loved every bit of the episode. My only complain is that they didn't mention the alien at all. And I can't understand how Garett became "the center of the universe" when the GH-325 is something made from an alien. Anyway, I can't wait for season 2. I hope it's like 12-15 episodes though.

Man, that was a fun finale. A good amount of cheesiness, but I still enjoyed it. I'm still honestly a little disappointed that the big theory of Coulson eventually becoming Vision never panned out, but that was dead a long time ago. As for the future.

-I how Tripp stays on. I like him. Pretty stupid oversight on the part of the writers that he just disappears in the last half of the episode.
-So I'm guessing Fitz's brain is totally fucked up. I hope he comes back on as a half-crazy, not all there, super genius like Walter Bishop in Fringe. Someone else also through out M.O.D.O.K. which would be crazy.
-Sick of the teasing about Skye's origins and shit, but I can wait.
-Excited to learn more about the Koenig twin/LMD/clone/cop out
-I wonder what rebuilding SHIELD will be like. Will they just still be the 5-6 agents runnign around doing stuff? Or will he actually build an agency, bringing on talent, expanding operations, establishing bases, etc.
-Paxton death was hilarious.
-Episode had about 6 endings, which meant it ended rather suddenly.
-Wonder what will become of Ward. Silent character, dubious motives, who knows what they'll do with him.
-Blood drippy guy is definitely the next big bad. Sounds fun.

Overall, I had a great time with this show, despite the very, very rocky start. Can't wait for season 2.

Different universe, applicable concept.

I'm hoping it's a shorter season too, so they can get straight to the stuff everyone wants.

Alternatively, if they want to do the standard 22, I hope they split it into two arcs, and have Agent Carter in the middle. Ala...

11 SHIELD > 13/8 Agent Carter > 11 SHIELD

This show man. After a rough first half of the season to then just improve big time in the second half. No one would have predicted that last year.

Looking forward to season 2, Agent Carter and the netflix shows.

Ward's character has someplace to go now at least. I hope they keep him on the show. Same with Fitz. They are more than just archetypes now. They have their own adversity to overcome and their own roles to play instead of just being this two dimensional character with a tiny bit of depth and that's all.

I'm not sure why Ward would be all that important for Hydra information. You would think they captured a ton of Hydra agents at the end of Cap 2 and during the retaking of the Hub.

I'm expecting something similar. Even a 13/13/9 split would be great.

That would kind of be like what was done with Once Upon a Time but this time not screwing up and keeping Agent Carter as a replacement for the hiatus unlike Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

Wouldn't be surprised if Skye ends up being an "inspired by" version of Abigail Brand, minus the mutant part since Fox seemingly has the rights to all things mutant related, but have the human/alien hybrid part can still be intact. Especially since Joss co-created Brand seems like it would kinda sorta make some sense...

So Coulson is the new Director ahead of Maria Hill?

I guess Ward got it right when he called her just eyecandy.
Deputy Director is where she belongs, she's very capable and great at her job but she's just not as good a rock and Coulson or Fury

Have to remember too. At one point Coulson was Level 10. He was not just some ordinary Agent. After his revival there was concerns over how it would go so they knocked him down the totem pole but before that he was basically on top level as far as access.

He was hand picked by Fury when he was a young guy etc. Its not so much Hill isn't qualified. Its just for the MCU they introduced Phil Coulson and he has been a huge success with fans

Sigh, I really did not like that finale.

So filled with cheese, pointless scenes and zero satisfaction with core storyline [but lets face it, core storyline was never good]. I smiled few times, but nothing was satisfying.

Wasted season.

The May/Ward fight scene was pretty good. Easily one of the best fight scenes in this entire season.

Feel the same way.

Reveal the alien and how they got it and why it works and what it actually does to u.

I get that you don't like the humor... but Arrow has terrible dialogue at times. The difference is that Whedon one-liners are meant to be cheesy/campy lines while Arrow's bad dialogue is just plain bad (serious) dialogue.

Arrow is still the better show as much as AoS has improved though. The dialogue while it is bad at times was still better then on here. Both shows are great though.

That is the plan, CARTER will take SHIELD's time slot in the break between the fall/summer parts of the season. There shouldn't be any long breaks aside from that one.

I wonder if the first action Coulson takes towards rebuilding is to launch operations aimed at retaking SHIELD facilities captured by Hydra during the takeover.

Also since Coulson and his team are now the top agents and aware of everything going on I hope the show continue to expand the entities active in the MCU. Reveal what AIM has been doing since Killian's death. Begin tracking the "miracle" people and whatnot.

As for Coulson in phase 2 really it's the perfect way to reveal he is alive to the other Avengers. SHIELD directors seem to be mysterious and show up when you least expect them. Coulson sauntering in and introducing himself as Director of SHIELD as if everything is normal would be the perfect moment. In a sense the show is as if we're seeing the batshit crazy stuff that went into making Nick Fury what he is and gave him all his connections. Now that man is Coulson.

Edit: Heck Coulson may have even inherited Fury's paranoia. He's been betrayed so much he has learned to trust almost no one.
