Do you like silly beat 'em ups with light RPG and VN elements + equal fanserivce? If so, then yes.

It's a really fun game, and it can be beaten (at least one time through) in a few days. I thoroughly enjoy it.

Btw glad to see you found a game that you can enjoy.

So much references...

I'm guinely enjoying this game world , despite the size of it for the little ..oh i know this ! I get this reference..

Make me smile like no other game.
Yakuza games have a much better city in term of gameplay , but akiba strip has this thing this little "plus"

"So many ads, left and right"

I forgot were the "metal otakus" in this game too? laughed my ass off when I saw one the first time in the previous title.

Started NG+, I'm really relieved that sub-mission completion is kept. I don't want to do those dumb picture taking missions again.

This seems like a pretty reasonable game to platinum so I'm gonna give that a shot too.

Also the
bootleg AKB48 group missions are hilarious. And a ton of fun to get a huge chain going.

I have been looking at some videos of youtubers playing this game but none of them have been using the dodge, guard or been able to to cobo strings. All they seem to do is to mash the same button over and over again. Is the combt system in the game really shallow and clunky or can someone point me to a video that shows off how much flow you can get in the combat if you know what you are doing?

also, is the counter system really random in this game (as is written in the tutorial) or do they say that becuse it's hard to pull off?

what are the functions of each of the pictures in the lower left corner (I guess one is for team attack, but what about the others)?

Last question, what purpose does jumping have in the game?

I've relaoded my save just for this scene.:

This game is so much GOOD.
So good.

Sorry will remove picture if you think it's a spoiler ( i don't think it is one )

You can mash your way to victory in a lot of situations, but you'll still need to block some of the tougher enemies.

The counters are not random, and they're actually pretty easy to pull off.

Clockwise from top: Team attack, retreat/get behind me, inventory, tell AI to attack

I don't think jumping does anything useful whatsoever. You get a few unique attacks, none of which seem to be any better than the ground based ones.

still waiting for my copy :( ...

so: for anyone who has played a yakuza game - does this game feel as similar as it looks?...

the combat isn't very Yakuza at all. but the rest of the game is structured very much like one. But with less to do.

Wait, there's cut-in scenes for Kaito, Yuto, & Pops? Which route do I gotta take to make those happen? In the middle of doing Rin's at the moment, then might do my Otaku playthrough using Shion.

& any word on what's the best method on earning 1 million yen? That lottery raffle isn't being so lucky with me, so I guess at the moment, I'll just keep redoing all the arena fights on Easy.

What's working for me so far was getting a weapon leveled up pretty high (the one you get at the end of the game is good for crowd control) and just wiping out low level thugs. if you get good combos going and strip their underwear, you get a lot of junk to sell very quickly.

That would be the way to see them, then. Shion's route has everything. ;)

I'll probably start doing that soon since I have a 999 weapon, but was trying to level up my partner's weapon just to be prepared for the Otaku playthrough. Doing the 48 idols one gives you a TON of stuff to sell.

Ah, cool. I'm digging how each route is offering me something new. Might need to take a break after Rin's route since I wanna be able to try out some of the DLC.

Finished with shizuku and sister good ends today. Amazing experience and still shocked this game was localized. I hope the sales for the game support the effort to bring it here.

So what do those specific clothing manuals do in shops? Are they permanent upgrades to being able to rip off that piece of clothing or something? Should they be a priority to purchase?

They basically help you level up your skill for ripping of that particular type of clothing. Once you reach 100%, you'll never rip that type of clothing again & always collect it for your inventory.

Well I think I'm gonna give it a chance + really interested in exploring Akipa , since I'm planning to visit Japan after graduating

And the combat system looks hilarious ^_^ 👍

Can other players give me a run down of the controls ? i feel like i'm missing something with the battles....
How do i heal ? Do i need to press L1 to quit fighting mode ? or am i fucked if i don't réarrange my clothes ?
IO'm confused on how everything works

You hold L.
If you just press it and let go, you'll put your weapons away.
Press and hold it for like a second or so.

I just can't get over how good
Soga
's strip image is at all. It's almost too much! Except not. It's pretty much my in-game smartphone wallpaper permanently, lol.

Thank you, XSEED for this addition.

mmmmm, amazing.

Heh, thanks. It's not so bad, right? The world didn't end because this game showed some dudes in their underwear. In fact, it made things much, MUCH better.

Now that we've gotten a real taste, I won't be satisfied with anything less. This game is great, but it's not nearly enough. Other companies need to start stepping up the plate.

How is the framerate. Also, based on the fighting, this or One Piece world R?

It's an achievement in awfulness. I haven't played a game with this jarring of a framerate in a very long time. The part that matters with low frame rates is the fact that it makes the inputs just feel off. Especially when fights happen in areas like the Side Streets the framerate shits the bed. I'm still enjoying the game but god damn is the frame rate a piece of shit. I feel like buying the PS4 version later on with the hopes that the framerate might be better.

It is. The PS4 version's framerate is smooth the whole way -- not a hint of frame drops, slowdown or anything else.

Pre-order placed, the PS4 is saved because the frame rate is the only thing I dislike about Akiba's Trip 2 on the Vita so far. I'll probably buy it on release and sit on it until December where I don't have much going on and I can platinum some games.

Wait...not sure why it took me this long to think of it, but any outfit the character's wearing in the game will transfer to the AR Mode, right?

Yeah, I wanted to platinum the PS3 version but I was content with just doing one playthrough because of ToX 2/SAO/etc. coming out around the same time. I'll probably platinum the PS4 version when it comes out later.

In Vita, is Hold L button to heal and it can be done in battle stance. Though be advised that tapping L1 will cause you to quit fighting mode, so make sure you hold that button.

Early game and in easy and casual game, you won't need to rearrange clothes, but later mission, especially on Gamer and otaku difficulty you need to heal every 2 or 3 hits if your equipment is under 400-500. 0 gauge risk your character clothes got stripped or destroyed, not to mention your attack become riskier as well, since enemy can counter strip you.

Okay, so legit question.

Is there a point to the jump button? Like, does it help you get out of surrounding enemies? Granted, not sure if it's because I have a female character, but the animation is kind of amusing.

This game is something else. I'm finding it enjoyable just walking slowly through the different districts/areas and seeing the sights/ads/etc. The civilians, too, seem to have a lot of life to them. Just yesterday I saw a "High Privileged Skank" slap a "Playboy++" acorss the face. Unfortunately, I was a bit too close when it happened and got knocked to the ground as well. It really does feel like a living/breathing world with a lot of personality. Great stuff.

Also, the way the responses in "Pitter" are posted, and the dialogue from in-game characters are perfection. So much attention to detail and love went into this game and its localization. It really does show.

Other than jump kicking your enemies, no, not really. I try to get out of surrounding enemies using jump, got juggled to hell instead.

So yeah, jump almost haveno use. At least in Way of the samurai, there's a place to escape by using jump. I don't find it in this game

According to Jason at work, a jump-kick is a useful way to clear some space if you're completely surrounded by enemies -- though it's risky, since you might just end up getting juggled.

Dear Tom,

Will we see DLC's?

First set coming on Tuesday. Never fear! ;)

*hangs head in shame*

But I ended up finding a lot of really cool Vita wallpapers in that thread. I didn't even know it existed. Thanks for linking!

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
This game is a breath of fresh air.

Seriously.

As a side note, just wanted to say that Tom is the coolest. Besides the fact that I really enjoyed this game, I really appreciate the work he does and how cool it is of him for posting in this thread and answering fan questions.

Definitely double dipping and getting this on PS4.

Oh crap, just realized a secret trophy that I need to do, which involves
Unison Strip with all partners
, though thankfully that shouldn't take too long.

& got the million yen. Think what I'm gonna do is run through every single shop, buy something, then type the name down so I can figure out what shop it is I'm missing....but first I want to test the AR theory out about costumes.

OH HO HO HO, so costumes DO carry over to the AR mode.
