Also, I haven't watched the episode yet, but all of these spoilers...
So if we look back... Saazbaum got shot at least once in the arm but a bunch of bullets missed, sort of plausible he's alive... Princess is in a coma...somewhat believable....But Inaho? Come on the guy got shot through the eye! The bullet isn't going to stop right at the eye! The part where they use the princess' blood as the activating factor is understandable but how does it work in the present? Did they reverse engineer it or is Inaho special now?
I like the robot eye but lol @ him still being the only competent soldier.

But the worst part is that they set it 19 months later so that everyone would be over it, but conveniently everyone still looks the same! Even Eddelrittuo who is like 10 years old!

Some really awful convenient writing. It just comes across as a really bad fan fiction for a show that was cancelled and never given proper closure. Oh well, it's not like there's any other good mech shows airing this season.

I'm not really sure how Earth isn't a Vers colony after 19 months from having their 'last stronghold' essentially demolished and more importantly 19 months of Inaho out of action, who we know is the only person competent enough to do anything to Vers' military.
I'm also not sure why the Earth military hasn't recognized his efforts enough to have him teaching masterclasses on how to beat Aldnoah bullshit rather than just piloting.
At this point I'm just going to enjoy the ride I guess. Wheee

Now that Aldnoah resumed airing new episodes there aren't any other mecha anime on the air.
They did pretty much exactly what I thought they'd do, down to the life support tank. I guess the Terminaho revenge tour has a final destination now.

I might be wrong here but I don't remember anyone from the cast learning about it. I'm not even sure if they know she's Marsian.
I am pissed that they are like "oh yeah we're gonna pretend that Urobuchi didn't Urobuchi at the end of last season" but I have to confess I do like seeing Inaho kicking ass and taking names. It is taking a lot of suspension of disbelief to grasp the idea of the Aldnoah activation factor being transmitted by mouth-to-mouth though.
EDIT: I am told that Urobuchi was only on board for a few episodes last season, so I can't blame him for the finale. Well, it's still freaking ridiculous.

With all of its problems I still enjoyed the first half but now this crap wtf. First half Earthlings were almost always under the oppression of the Martian army everywhere and on the verge of extinction now they have their asses out on the beach and take down enemies like business as usual and in 19 months Martian guys did shit. Ok whatever. No need to even bring up all the stupidly convenient resolutions here.
This felt really really bad. It's like they had no idea what to do with it, some unfinished story handed to some body else and they phoned it in really hard.

I see that in the interim Inaho still remains the only competent soldier Earth has at their disposal. I guess it'd be too much to ask for the remaining leaders to acknowledge his combat prowess and promote him to some leadership position so the one intelligent person they have isn't constantly on the front lines of every battle while also being able to somewhat mitigate their losses due to his tendency think during a fight. But who am I kidding, if there wasn't a constant source of fodder to throw at all these knights then we wouldn't know how super smart Inaho is and since people don't actually die in this series he's not in any realistic amount of danger to begin with!

I, too, would go out of my way to save the traitor who started the war to begin with and "killed" my waifu so long as they pinky swear not to do it again.
I don't think he'll get rid of the orange kat, maybe some Aldnoah upgrades. Remember, he ditched an 'upgraded' suit for that one since he's more familiar with it.
My guess is that it was the only way he could see keeping her alive (via Martian tech, and by getting her there fast). Hoping he's just playing along for now.
He couldn't have saved her life without his medical facilities I guess and it stands to reason that his men wouldn't have saved her since his entire thing was tracking her down and killing her.
Playing along in the "Letting Saaz use the sister to keep the war going so he can keep his princess alive in a jar" sense. Slaine's the worst, basically.

So Saaz wants the princess dead in order to keep his justification for going to war alive, presumably that's why he tried to take her out at the end of ep12. Slaine is willing to go along with him continuing the war so long as he's able to use Saaz's resources to keep her alive.
But the princess being alive should completely invalidate the reason for going to war to begin with and thereby Saazbaum's entire plan. The emperor giving the go ahead to continue fighting against Mars in ep.5 was hinged on the assumption that the princess was dead. That's where the problem of the entire premise of Mars continuing to attack seems to be off. Now the Emperor should realize that Slaine was telling the truth back in Episode 5 back when he tipped him off that there were traitors among the orbital knights ... but he's continuing to allow them to do whatever they want AND he's sending his other daughter to chill among these other potentially dangerous figures near Earth?
... what's going on in this show anymore? Fuck it.
